I've finished reading Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James earlier today and now I've started The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
Just finished reading: Rose MadderReading for the first time: Desperation and The Regulators
Re-reading: Different Seasons
Just finished The Dark Tower III: The Waste Lands and am now starting The Dark Tower IV: Wizard and Glass.
Currently, I'm reading pt. II of "The Strain", trying to squeeze two more in . . .the Biblioholic, Tom
ps. the actual title of this book is The Fall. Pt. I. had more action. I'm 3/4 through, still waiting for the bell. To be fair, "the Fall" does have considerable action, compared to *most* books. Hogan and del Torodo do not write *most* books. Having just finished Book I, I immediately jumped into "the Fall". Long Story Short[er], I had become inured to thrilling action offered by these two authors. Great Teammanship. [crap, I sound like a commercial, haha].

Just finished First Meetings in Ender's Universe by Orson Scott Card and The Rest of the Robots by Isaac Asimov. Waiting for the new Enders book, Earth Unaware by OSC which comes out in July. Hmmm I think I need a Michael Crichton book, maybe Micro: A Novel .

Still working my way through Everybody Loves Our Town: An Oral History of Grungeand will also be starting on The Sense of an Ending.

As more time has passed though my opinion of The Passage has increased a lot and I'm now really looking forward to book 2.

I really liked The Passage a lot, too. Upon finishing it, I want to jump into the second book immediately. Months later, I found out that it wouldn't be out until 2012.. I cannot wait to start The Twelve!
I want to read The Passage but I'm unsure of the plot. (despite the description on Goodreads). Can anyone tell me what it is about, exactly?

Don't read beyond the first two paragraphs of the plot description or else you will start to get into spoilers.

I finished Tick Tock. I alternated between semi-enjoying it, and outright disliking it. I ended up giving it two stars.I'm now re-reading my all-time favourite book, Watership Down.

I just love that novel. (Watership Down, that is. I've never read Tick Tock)

Tick Tock is amongst the Worst Koontz!
Try out
Watchers from him before you give up on him please... ;-)
Jason wrote: "I just love that novel. (Watership Down, that is. I've never read Tick Tock)"Me too. I haven't read it in years, and recently it's been calling to me.

I've read False Memory as well, and didn't like that one either. I have Odd Thomas on my shelf, which I'll read eventually.
Is Watchers the one with the dogs? I don't know if I'll like that... I like dogs, I'm just not a "my dog is my best friend" kind of person :/
Reading
We Need To Talk About Kevin. I'm only about 40 pages in and keep getting distracted, not a good sign. It needs to go back to the library on Tuesda so I'm hoping it picks up soon.
I'm reading IT again. I'm trying to find a Stephen King book I haven't read yet and can't decide. I've heard a lot of good things about the Dark Tower series but couldn't get into it the first time I tried to read it. so i'm thinking about giving it another try.

You really should give it another try; you might be surprized this time around. :)
Courtney wrote: "I'm reading Tick Tock by Dean Koontz - my second Koontz, and since I hated the only other one I read, I never planned on reading another but was drawn to the creepy little doll on the cover of this..."Was there even the mention of a creepy doll or dolls in Tick-Tock? I would hope there was- at least to some minor degree! lol.
Yeah, there was a creepy doll, but the story itself wasn't creepy. It was more of a horror-comedy, two genres which I don't generally like to mix :/

It would be like me writing a story about creepy dolls, and on the cover was a tap-dancing circus bear. Now wouldn't that be a nifty cover? lol.

I would definitely give the Dark Tower books another go. Who knows, it might be a completely different experience this time around.:)
Right now, I'm working through The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. I'm almost finished with it. Melissa--I agree with everyone so far, give it another go if you feel so inclined. Personally, there are times when I have to read a book/series a second time through to enjoy it.
I've finished reading The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne this morning and now I'm about to start Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner.

I think it was senior year of high school and there was just too many actaul school books to read lol. After IT I'll give it another go.
Ellie wrote: "I've finished reading The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne this morning and now I'm about to start Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner."Hi, Ellie-
What did you think of The Scarlet Letter?
I finished Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter yesterday. I really liked the first 2/3 but struggled through the end. I was really bored with that part. Now I'm reading I Suck at Girls. I thought his first book was hysterical. Good so far.
Currently reading The Throat by Peter Straub ... thinking of reading Misery for the group read this week also but I'm not entirely sure yet.
Jason wrote: "Will be starting on Ready Player Onetonight."I've heard wonderful things, Jason.:) It sounds like a fun read. Enjoy.

The copy I have has a little blurb from USA Today on the cover saying the book is like "Willy Wonka meets The Matrix." Once I saw that I realized that could potentially be the greatest thing since Chocolate met Peanut Butter!
