What are you reading right now?
He's been doing it since at least 2002.According to Wikipedia, since 2010 and through 2012 he will have published a total of 37 adult and YA books. 37??? And he's writing them himself? Don't think so.
Dustin wrote: "I hadn't realized that Patterson utilizes ghost writers for his work..."Yes, quite some time ago. It was newsworthy for a time. Until the fiasco, he acknowledged his use of ghost writers sparingly, in the fine print. Since then, the 'real' author is given space on the books' covers. He is relying on selling books using his name only; they are no longer his own work.
Dustin wrote: "Does anyone know how long he's been doing that?"Not really sure, but it's probably four years ago or so that I became awaare of it. See this link for more insight.

WOW. Thank you for sharing.:)
I've just finished reading White Oleander by Janet Fitch and I'm about to start The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks.

Good to see someone else who likes Song of Susannah, it is easily one of my favorites of The Dark Tower series.
While I'm enjoying The Town and The City I'm finding that I'm enjoying it more in small doses so while I spend awhile getting to the end of that I've decided to also start on my reread of
.Between those books and some short stories I'm working on it's going to be a busy month.

They really are! I generally don't gravitate to the mystery genre that ofter but I picked up Mystic River back just before the movie came out and within two months had read all of what Lehane had published at the time. I think now the only book of his I haven't read is The Given Day.

I enjoy mysteries almost as much as good sci-fi. I will read up on this title. Right now I'm reading
by Isaac Asimov for the second time. This time I plan to read through the entire Robot series.

Yeah, how's it coming along, Dani?
I've finished reading The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks earlier and now I'm starting Seven Up by Janet Evanovich.
Ellie wrote: "I've finished reading The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks earlier and now I'm starting Seven Up by Janet Evanovich."Just watched One for the Money with my wife tonight. Had absolutely no interest in it but ended up liking the movie and am contemplating giving the book a go this summer.
I'm into the final 100 pages of Duma Key now. Struggled to stay into it for a lot of the book to be honest, but it's really got an old school King feel to it as it comes into the final straight. Very much Shining-esque!

For some reason Goodreads keeps erasing what I'm trying to post here so here's try number three.Starting on
. Still reading
as well but I'm guessing that's going to take a backseat to finishing up my reread the Dark Tower series.
Kathryn wrote: "David, the book is worth it! A few really creepy parts. ."Totally agree. Got about 70 pages left. Had to make myself put it down last night. This will sound like a really contrived bit of self-promotion, but it's the truth - when they were talking about the possibility of Perse being released from the china doll, I shivered, because it had such similar parallels to my own novel, The Hunter Inside! Sorry for the self-promotion, but I really mean it!

One scene I really remember vividly and got really creeped out (view spoiler)

Oh yes, I remember that scene quite well, Kathryn! There's definitely a creep factor there...throughout the book, actually, IMO..
Happy reading, David!
And Jason, I have no doubt that The Town and the City will end up on the back burner as you wrap up The Dark Tower!!

The Town and the what, Dustine? :)
In all seriousness, when I saw your post there was a brief moment where I forgot I was trying to get through the Kerouac novel. Got a good start on DT last night.

Dustine??
Scott wrote: "I read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and Throttle. I don't know what I'm going to read next."Hi, Scott-
What are your thoughts on Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
Hey Dustin. Here's the answer I just gave someone else.I liked some of it but for most of the book I was confused. I couldn't figure out why Deckard was doing the things he did. He seemed like an idiot and you would think that a bounty hunter in search of androids would be smart.
I gave it 3 stars.
I remember the first time I read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Prior to that I had seen Bladerunner numerous times and I was not aware as to just how different the novel was!! It was a something of a disapointment then. I've actually gone back and read the book again about a year ago and liked it a bit more that time.

Oh, okay. Thank you, Scott.:)
I decided to read Double Cross: The Explosive, Inside Story of the Mobster Who Controlled America. I'm just wondering how realistic it is since these are stories relayed to his brother.
Last night I took a break from Confederacy and snuck in a novella by Tim Curran-Puppet Graveyard. It was AWESOME!If you have a fear of puppets, dolls or ventriloquist's dummies and you like to be afraid-check this one out. A word of caution though-it is very graphic and violent in a few places.
I'm currently back to Stephen King and reading The Talisman which is book 21 of 73 in my reread project. I'll probably read a few more (Thinner: Tie-In and Skeleton Crew) before taking a break with other stuff prior to It. I think I might read the Feed series since it's now finished.
