What are you reading right now?

You are welcome.:)
Please keep in mind that I was simply stating my opinion, so the order in which you choose to read the books is entirely up to you.
And thank you for the compliment. I've actually been told before that I kind of look like Uncle Stevie!
"The Reploids" is an uncollected short story by Stephen King. It was published in the 1988 book Dark Visions.

Scott wrote: ""The Reploids" is an uncollected short story by Stephen King. It was published in the 1988 book Dark Visions."Okay. Thank you, Scott.
I've started The Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith. It is set in Botswana and written in the voices of native Motswanans. It isn't sci-fi or fantasy - simply good solid storytelling in a deceptively simple language. Wonderful stuff.
Finished The Gunslinger and as soon as I write my review I'll be moving on to The Drawing of the Three.
A little more than half way done with The Drawing of the Three. I love Uncle Stevie for his liberal Democrat point of view, but I have to laugh at the black handicapped woman character. Well, that about covers the main minority groups.
Finished The Wind Through The Keyhole earlier this morning. Going to start on
shortly. I read this book a number of times between the age of 15 to 21. Curious to see how I feel about it now that I've got a few more miles under the belt.
Lately I have been into the YA and am currently reading Spell Bound and Insurgent. Both are excellent series.
I just finished the The Hunger Games. And I cant help be continue reading the 2nd part of the series, Catching Fire. I totally but Clash of the Kings aside for now
Finished The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith and started the next in the series - Tears of the Giraffe.
Almost done with The Drawing of the Three, actually stayed away from the computer and got 4/5ths of the way through the book today.

Me, too!:)
Hey, Dustin! *waves* I finished The Drawing of the Three. Sorry, Uncle Stevie, but I'm lukewarm to the series. Maybe I'm used to the Neil Gaiman, or the kings/queens kind of stuff, but I can't get into it. King keeps to his own voice, but it's not interesting so far, except that I love the gunslinger idea. I'm hitting the next one, The Waste Lands. I'm moving forward imagining it as the world's longest novel, as King said. This is just the beginning of the novel.I'm a SciFi fan, also, but I still enjoyed 11/22/63, even if I don't consider it SciFi. The voting at Goodreads listing the book as best SciFi for that year still did not change my mind on that.

It's good so far! Stephen King rocks!

Thanks, Courtney. The beginning of the Waste Lands look good. The first book feels like a set up. The 2nd book seems like the very beginning of the action. I'm hoping the story will be in the flow with Waste Lands.

I'll read the whole series to see what I make out of DT. My ratings may change once I "get" the idea. At Sword & Laser, they're reading Hyperion which is actually half of 1 big book. The first book leaves you with an unsatisfied unfinished feeling, which the 2nd book, The Fall of Hyperion, resolves. My rating would have been lower for the first book, but based on that knowledge, I read the first and second together, which gives the whole thing a sense of completeness.I think the series was supposed to be read as one huge novel, although some say he's writing in order to fulfill fan's expectations. From his foreword, he's writing to finish the huge novel, not to pound out more stuff for the fans. Until I finish the series, I won't know whether I agree that it's meant to be one huge novel.
All this talk about The Dark Tower series.....gosh I really have to hurry up and get the rest of them!!!!
I agree with King that DT is one long novel. I don't think you can read just 1, 2 or 3 without feeling something is missing. 1 is set up. 2, they're getting started. 3, they're in the middle of the journey.

Duma Key is fantastic!

That's how I see it.:)

I started book 2 and had to quit for awhile was not grasping for me will try it agian at a later date
For now, reading Grim Reaper: End of Days, trying to hurry through so I can get to Enemies of the Cross
Aloha wrote: "I would push through to book 3. It's grabbing me now."I'm glad, Aloha, that you're getting into it now.
I have also read the Hyperion series, years ago. That book turned me on to Dan Simmon's world and I proceeded to read everything he wrote after that. Or mostly everything he wrote, LOL.
I've just finished The Providence Rider which I loved and I'm on to two:
The Sound of Midnight and
Tamed which is a group read.
Just finished The Waste Lands, will be starting Wizard and Glass tonight, looks like I'll be able to get to Wind in time for the group read :)
Book 3 of DT is a fun ride! But I would recommend reading 1 and 2 in order to get the full benefit of 3. Think of them as part of 1 book.I need to finish Hyperion 3 & 4, but it's not urgent. 1&2 is 1 book, 3&4 takes place at another time.

I ordered a used paperback of Only Revolutions because I am going to need to make copious notes to solve this huge puzzle. I don't want to mark up my beautiful hardback. I wish there was an eBook of this to digitally mark this up.
The used paperback of Only Revolutions just came in, and look brand new! Now, I'm hesitant about marking it up. :o(
I am reading Run for your Life by James Patterson, the second in the detective Michael Bennett series, he is a very likeable character.
My re-read of Catcher in the Rye is finished and I'm happy to say that while the book affected me differently this time around than any of the times I read it as a teenager, it still holds up. Now I'm starting on
.
Finished The Waste Lands. Love it! Moving on to book 4, Wizard and Glass. I'm looking forward to Roland's romance story.

Maybe it's just me, but I really do not recognize "The Reploids".. Is that a rare short story, or something? I don't think it's in any of SK's collections..
