To be honest, Koontz is not one of my favorites but he made something pretty special with this book and character. Actually, rereading it now I'm enjoying it much more this time around so it's likely that I'll be giving some of Koontz's other novels another shot now.

OMG, Chris, you crack me up.
You want to read a horror novel? Read Brave New World. It's some f-ed up stuff. And the fact that it was written in the 1930's makes it that much more so imo. *shiver*
Ellie wrote: "I've just started reading Second Glance by Jodi Picoult this evening."Second Glance by Jodi Picoult is a great book! The beginning can be a little slow and confusing as well b/c of all of the characters that are introduced at the beginning, but stick with it, b/c it ends up being awesome :) Enjoy!!!

. Trying to figure out if I am really enjoying it or not."Don't give up on that one yet. It's very good with a satisfying ending.
Just started The Martian Chronicleslast night and also got Kevin Smith's newest non-fiction bookTough Shit: Life Advice from a Fat, Lazy Slob Who Did Good.
Last night, I started The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters. I'm only about 40 pages in, but so far, so good!
I just finished The Way of Kings Part Two and I absolutely loved it ;-)Starting up on Boy's Life after some very nice recommendations ;-)

I read Boy's Life a couple weeks ago. It was fantastic :)
Boy's Life is in my top 5 books of all time. I hope you like it, Mummi!I finished We Need to Talk About Kevin which I thought was awesome. I also finished Origin which was some demon filled fun.
I ran through Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly and am now reading In the Blood which is ok so far.
Finishing up Les Miserables' (FINALLY... don't ask!) and started Rot & Ruin, which is turning into a pretty good zombie book 126 pages in.
I just finished The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest and no I'm going to read Over the Edge by Jonathan Kellerman.

Dustin wrote: "Hi, Jason-What do you think about Wizard and Glass, so far?"
Hi Dustin,
This is the year that I decided I would finally reread all The Dark Tower series so, this is my 2nd time through it since it was first published.
For the most part I'm enjoying it more on this second read than I did the first time.

This is also my second journey with Roland and his Ka-Tet. And I'm enjoying them much more this time around, too (especially the extensive back story in W&G.)
I'm glad you're enjoying it.:)

SWEET!
Just started reading Under the Dome. Finished The Dark Tower Series about 4 months ago and was very disappointed with the ending. Hope this will leave a better tast in my mouth.
Just started Darkest Mercy by Melissa Marr (someone inbox me how to add it as a picture PLEASE?) after finishing The Woman in Black by Susan Hill.Hooked already.
I've set myself a challenge to read the Dark Tower series this year though x

Literally! I finished it today. I hated it, loved it; and ended up crying at the end. It was a lot of torture, and I am glad I finished it, but I will never again force myself to finish reading a book I don't enjoy. The ending was superb, though.

Click on the link above the comment box where it says, "Add book/author", and then you find the book you are looking for, and where it says, "link" or "cover", click the cover option. Hope that helps!
Kevin wrote: "Just started reading Under the Dome. Finished The Dark Tower Series about 4 months ago and was very disappointed with the ending. I still loved the series and will hopefully read it in its entirety again someday.
@Lucy, congrats on setting that challenge. The series is quite awesome and at points will work your nerve, but it is addicting. Before you know it, you will be a gunslinger too. Ka-tet
And thank you Alondra - I really should read all the comments after mine before I reply LOL.Isn't there a new Dark Tower book out later this year ?(UK) x

I'm *hoping* I can read the first four Dark Tower book by the time 4.5 comes out. Or, is that a bad idea?? I've never read any of them.

Thanks Kathryn ;) xx
Lucy wrote: "Kathryn.. There's 7 or 8 Dark Tower books out.. x"Haha! I know! I have them all already! Just haven't started them yet. I'm such a nerd. :) I actually have pretty much everything of King's in the novel/short story area. I plan to start reading them after I finish Full Dark, No Stars! yay!
I have ALOT Of books I own but haven't read yet LOL. Does The Wind Through the Keyhole fit in between book four and book five then?
Lucy wrote: "I have ALOT Of books I own but haven't read yet LOL. Does The Wind Through the Keyhole fit in between book four and book five then?"Yeah, its considered 4.5 :)
Just got done with Over the Edge by Jonathan Kellerman. Now I'm reading The Book of the Dead by Preston and Child.
Reading the new one after the first four should be ok. But we can't say for sure, as we haven't read it. Heh. I'll jump on it the day I get my copy, so I'll know fairly soon after that.
Chris wrote: "Reading the new one after the first four should be ok. But we can't say for sure, as we haven't read it. Heh. I've been kind of worried about starting to read the series, then adding Wind Through the Keyhole where it goes, and finishing the series. But, I've thought it might be best if I read the series without it, then going back and reading WTtK....decisions, decisions!
Kathryn wrote: I'm *hoping* I can read the first four Dark Tower book by the time 4.5 comes out. Or, is that a bad idea?? I've never read any of them. .."Not sure if you will have enough time. The first book is the challenge, and it's not even that long. It is the story and the fact that our esteemed author was a kind of "lit" when he wrote it. You really have to plow through and not make too much out of it. Just remember some key words and definitions; ka-tet, sai, etc. Once you read the 2ng & 3rd books, it all makes sense. :)
