Where did you hear that, Josiah?

He have said that it maybe more than seven books, a little right after A Dance with Dragons came out.

Yes, why did you say that, Kevin?"
Well, he has passed his prime in writing. He is already 63 years old already. Anyway, the next fews books are not set in stone, anybook may change the publishing date. Its too early. If book 5 took 6 years, then I wonder how long well the next book be. It should have been three years if it was right on time as he was doing it. Also he does not know when the series may end, he changes the plot to his story all in the time in the process of writing. Plus when he is stuck on a part, he may do something else like writing a little on the next book or another book or the Wild Cards movie, which takes up more time. Lastly, remember that A Dance with Dragons and A Feast for Crows was suppose to be one book, which took 11 years. He could cut the next fews books into two or three books in order to make timeline. Don't forgot when A Game of Thrones came out, the next book that was on the first edition book jacket was A Dance With Dragons, the same things was on A Clash of Kings.

I absolutely love..."
Yes, that's understandable, but I think you could have worded it differently..

Oh, right. He'll just have to stop with the cliffhanger endings

I remember reading that and chuckling over it a while back. I'm willing to wait for the next one, though I hope it advances the plot a bit more than the last one did. In the meantime, there is plenty to read and the HBO season starts on April 1.
I loved Dance. Every book in that series is a 5-star, to me. I don't want anyone who sees all the anti-GRRM diarrhea to be discouraged. There is hope and great fun stuff to look forward to. Don't let internet trolls get you down. Heh...
But yes, Charlene. Definitely looking forward to Season 2 in April.

Actually, quite a few people don't like book one. I don't get it, but it happens.
I guess that's why they call them opinions.

Sorry your friends didn't like A Dance with Dragons, Kevin, but that doesn't make the book a bad book. It's just their opinion... and like my daddy always says: "Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one."

I guess that's why they call them opinions."
Yeah, I forgot about that.

I finished this last night! Loved it and will be starting the next book tonight, alongside Miss Pergrine and The Shining :)

However, I am treading very slowly with it though.

No retribution.
:P
Becky's fault...
Actually, I might have suggested it.
Though I'm sitting here now, seeing that you're reading GRRM and The Shining and I'm like WHY????

I'm good. I have so many commitment group reads lined up I can't breathe. It'll probably be 2013 before I can get to anything else.
And finishing up 11/22/63 this weekend.
And finishing up 11/22/63 this weekend.
I have Miss Peregrine, Penal Colony, Cell, Thinner, Dragon Tears, Clash of Kings, Lost Boy Lost Girl, Cold Fire, The Stand (reread), Crime and Punisment, War and Peace, Re:Union and Seed on my commitments

I realize that, Gator...

I rarely do re-reads - I figure I have way too many books on my tbr list that if I waste time re-reading books, I'll never finish them all before I die. LOL (although I did cheat and re-read The Stand with the group last summer)
That said, I'm going to re-read The Shining this year - I haven't read it since I was a teen, and I'd like to re-read it sometime before Dr. Sleep comes out!
Ahhh, to be young again, Courtney.
I find that re-reads can be good when it's been a looooooong time since the first read and I barely remember it. Then it's like a whole new book! Heh.
See, there are some advantages to getting older.

I don't consider it a waste of time to re-read books I love. There's a reason I love them, and books are made to be enjoyed. And I enjoy them frequently.
Never re-reading would be like meeting really awesome people, having a great time with them, and then never talking to them again.

Kealan - I do apologize. Probably what happened is it was a different type of tannery and the techniques used were different at the one where your story was set than the one in which I worked as a kid (yuck) and that my father ran. Please accept my apologies in assuming your research was not complete. I did enjoy the story and plan to read the rest of the series!

So, it's an omnibus?

Sorry its not collects, but connects.

Kevin, What is your recommendation? What should I read after the prelude to Foundation?

I think we're actually thinking about what will go on the "What will we re-read in January 2013" list.
