So far, everyone I know that has read the trilogy has said the same thing. So far it is very good and I am only on page 26

Dance Dance Dance is by the author of 1Q84, Haruki Murakami. He is one of my new favorite authors of all times. I have read some of his other books. I can describe about his books are the main character, usually male going on a magical journey of self discovery.
just finished reading A Christmas Carol & The Battle of Life by Dickens, now enjoying Hercule Poirot's ChristmasBeen reading christmas books for last couple of weeks
currently reading Dead Man's Songthe second in the Pine Deep trilogy, and am really enjoying. If you like stephen King, I'm certain you will enjoy Jonathan Maberry.

I just finished I am Legend and I thought it was excellent!

I will need to pick up some more Matheson, I hear Hell House is quite good as well.
I need to read Hell House again. Been so long I can't remember what happened in it. I just read I am Legend again after several years and loved it the second time around. As for my current read I'm getting ready to start Seed of Evil. A nice old horror paperback from the 80s that I just got in the mail.
I'm reading Dan Simmons - FLashback at the moment...I must say that I find it ---- boring? Is that the right word? Anyway, I'm not hooked, and only about halfway... this one has taken me some time to read... oh well ;)

Mummi, I read Flashback..I thought it was just ok. I gave it three stars, but I was disappointed. I was hoping that I would like it more, being a huge fan of Simmons' work.

I follow you Charlene...
So far I'm disappointed, but hopefully the ending will save some of the book for me ;)
Krista of the Many Sparkles and and Shimmies wrote: "Thanks, Kevin. I'll check it out."Actually I would recommend you check our some of his other books first, especially the prequel, A Wild Sheep Chase, since Dance Dance Dance is the sequel, having the same location.
I'm almost finished with The Measure of the Magic and will be starting Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

I liked Flashback a lot, although it is not the usual Simmons book. It picks up in the second half and ends well, IMO.
Just finished Ender's Game and really enjoyed it. Trying to start the sequel, Speaker for the Dead, but haven't gotten far yet. They seem very different. Anyone else read this series? What about Ender's Shadow?
Gatorman wrote: "Cyndi wrote: "Just started John Connolly's Dark Hollow"Great book, as are all in the series."
Thanks Gatorman...just gives me more reason to keep reading.
Jaime wrote: "Just finished Ender's Game and really enjoyed it. Trying to start the sequel, Speaker for the Dead, but haven't gotten far yet. They seem very different. Anyone else read this series? What about En..."As a big fan of the series, I would recommend you read Ender's Shadow instead if you don't like all the deep thinking because the sequels does not have all the fast pace that Ender's Game had. On the other hand, Ender's Shadow is the exact same story as Ender's Game, but from the viewpoint of Bean, seeing how everything in the background happens. The three sequels to Ender's Shadow are more political based.
I finished Flashback by Dan Simmons a couple of days ago...I must agree with those of you who said that it would pick up in the second half...
It's still far from my favourite Dan Simmons book, but I actually liked the crime-story a lot... The sci-fi setting was a bit so-so in my opinion... still a fine read overall ;-)
Oh... and I just started Patient Zero by Jonathan Maberry - It's an anti-zombie-special-squad thingie... Kinda like Tom Clancy meets 28 days Later. So far I'm enjoying it (about 200 pages in), it's like reading an action/horror movie script, but what the heck, I've never been to proud or too snobbish to read this kind of books, and it's a damn fine little light holiday read ;)
I love Jonathan Maberry. I was turned on to him earlier this year and I started with the Pine Deep trilogy which starts with
. I quickly read through the second and third novels and I LOVED them all.I am looking forward to Patient Zero and also the YA series that includes Rot & Ruin and Dust & Decay.
It is great to discover a new author and then to find out he has a bunch of books available.
I just started Fallen by Karin Slaughter
. I'm still having trouble getting into 11/22/63. The start is SO slow I haven't been able to get past 6% yet without picking up a different book to read.

Are you serious?

I understand your pain.
Gatorman wrote: "Can't go wrong ending with Simmons."Yes, I know since I loved Endymion so much, even though I did not care for Hyperion or The Fall of Hyperion.
@ CHarlene: If Patient Zero is anything like his other novels, then it's definitely not the last novel by Maberry I'm gonna read ;) Really enjoying it so far :)@ Kevin: I wish I could go back and read Hyperion/Endymion for the first time again... Absolutely love that series :D
I quite like Karin Slaughter, although I've only read a couple of her books. I'm currently caught up in Jo Nesbo's Harry Hole series.
I finally went out and bought a copy of Bag of Bones, which I'm reading right now, then onto Valley of the Horses.
If anyone is interested, my novel SEED is free for the next :glances at the clock: five hours on Amazon. Should have posted about it sooner but it didn't cross my mind until I was trolling the King forums. Here's the link for those who want it: http://tinyurl.com/7zuqy7v
For those who decide to give it a shot, hope you enjoy it.
And to everyone regardless, happy new year. :)
