It was excellent. I'm going to take a little time before I read the next one though.

I'm planning on reading the next one in May, I think. If I can wait. I'm already anticipating where the story is going...I'm glad that I only have to wait a few months for #5. Only halfway through #1 and I'm already impatient! LOL
Hi, Becky! It's great to hear that you're reading A Game of Thrones. I LOVE the series! Anyway, I don't mean to sound harsh or anything, but consider yourself lucky...a lot of us have been waiting for Book V since 2005!
I know Dustin, that's what I mean. It was the same with Dark Tower - I read them all back to back after they were all released. So far I've had pretty good luck that way. I guess except for the Kingkiller Chronicles, I've been following that one since the first book.
I just finished Death Mask. I thought the ending was a little drawn out but I really enjoyed Masterton's writing. I'm definitely going to read more from him in the future.I was at B&N last week and they did not have a single book from Masterton. What is even funnier is that they had a whole shelf of James Patterson's books.
I think I'm going to read Mockingjay and finish up that series.

I think everyone is wating for A Dances with Dragon. If hee does not get this out on July 12, 2011, there will be pitchforks and torches lined up outside his house in New Mexico.
I'm reading "The Tommyknockers." Just started chapter 8 at lunch which means that I'm almost through with Part 1. As with King's other books, I am enjoying it immensely.
Just finished Small World by Tabitha King last night. It was the first novel of hers I've ever read. I enjoyed it ok, but I don't know that I'll read anything else by her. It dragged in spots and the ending felt rushed. I know it was her first novel, but I just wasn't feeling her writing style.I'm starting Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House.
Finished Lisey's Story and it was great, awesome, left me feeling good, though it was an emotional journey to the end.Now I just started
, not sure what to think yet.
There is an incredible new Stephen King story in this month's "Atlantic" - I'm a true Luddite, so I have no idea whether of not I've done this correctly, but the website is:http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/a...

Excellent story, thanks for the link. :) I just read it, and yea, even though it wasn't a happy story, I had a smile when I finished, just because I love SKs short-stories sooo much. Then I read the interview he gave to go with it, and that was sort of enlightening.
I just read Blockade Billy... Meh. Not my favorite story of his. I only gave it two stars. But I'm also listening to the audio of The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters, and I'm really enjoying that one.
Dave wrote: "Has anyone read The Stand uncut?"This is the first book I read on my Nook last year. It is a fantastic book. It is definitely one of my favorites from King.
Of course - The uncut version of The Stand takes what the "editors" made King take out (because it was toooo loooong)and put it back in. It's a much more cohesive novel this way, and it returns the "greatness" of this wonderful book.
I just finished Mockingjay. I thought this was a good series especially for younger readers. I'm sure I'll have my kids read it when they get a little older. Now I'm going to start American Gods.
I didn't care for Mockingjay at all. I thought it was incredibly disappointing and out of character -- for just about ALL of the characters. Buttercup was the only character I felt anything at all for. And he's a cat.American Gods on the other hand, is amazing. I recently read Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman, which contains a novella related to American Gods (Monarch of the Glen - read it after the book though!) and it made me want to read the book again.
AG is definitely a book that benefits from multiple readings. Even just after reading it once, I wanted to flip back to the beginning and go again to catch all the little things I might see this time around. It's brilliant. I hope you love it Scott!
Regarding The Stand - Yup! I've read it... Idunnohowmany times, and I'm rereading again this June. I can't wait. ♥
Not only does The Stand (Unabridged) give the reader everything that King was forced to omit, but there's a complete richness about it that's brilliant. Mind boggling, even.
I fully plan on re-reading it again myself. Is that going to be the June group-read?Right now though, I'm still slogging through
. It seems like it's just taking forever, I just want to be done with it so I can read something else. It's not terrible, it's just not that good either...

. It seems like it's just taking fore..."That's exactly how I felt about that book and why I have yet to read another one by Little.
I totally agree with you on Little, Gatorman - For some unknown reason, I tried twice, but.. not again, not again!
Woo! Finished it finally! Had to force myself to do it. I'd read The Revelation
a while back, and enjoyed it for it's pure schlocky-ness, reminded me of all the scary stories I used to read as a kid, so I picked up The Walking and another one, The Return
to try. On The Walking, I give it a big fat "Meh..." and it'll probably be a good while before I go ahead and read The Return. I probably would've liked Little's style better when I was younger and easier to please.Next, I'm going to read The Bachman Books
, very excited! Definitely no "meh..." there. :)
LOL I don't know how you guys can have conversations in bookcovers like that. I'm like 'read read read blank *squint at cover then hover the mouse over for the title* read read read blank*squint at cover then hover the mouse over for the title* read...' And that's on my big 22 inch monitor! You guys must have eyes like hawks! LOL
LOL I just like seeing the pretty covers :) It's always the covers that grab my attention at the store.
Kit, you might enjoy The Store, by Bentley Little. I read it about five years ago, and enjoyed it very much.
Dustin wrote: "Kit, you might enjoy The Store, by Bentley Little. I read it about five years ago, and enjoyed it very much."I've read good reviews of that one and The House also, so I'll probably try them if I find 'em cheap. :)
I'm reading Water for Elephants (it's for a local book club I'm in) and won a LT Giveaway of an indie fantasy/steampunk book: The ConvertedAs far as Stephen King goes, I have UR on my Kindle radar this month as well as I checked out the sample of Blockade Billy
I finished The Tommyknockers earlier this week. I found it to be as good a read as The Shining. I could hardly put it down at times.I'm currently reading Bossypants (Tina Fey) and Casino Royale (Ian Fleming). Both are short, so I should be finished in a day or two.
Courtney wrote: "Finished Wizard and Glass (awesome) last night and just started Wolves of the Calla."I think Wolves was my favorite from the series.
After reading the prologue, I've decided to put Wolves down and read Salem's Lot first - it's one of the few King novels I've never read (other than the DT series), and I'd like to read about Father Callahan in the story from whence he first appeared.
Hi Everyone,Just finished UR (ebook only) and I really enjoyed it. Finished it in two days! I'm re-reading BLACK HOUSE. It's one of my favorite recent King stories. I probably have said this before, but I just love Henry Leyden!
I just finished Desperation about an hour ago, and I'm going to be starting The Regulators as soon as I finish writing my review! And Lanie, I LOVED Black House. That was one of my favorites of King's so far :]
So, I finished
The Shining
. Kubrick's movie version kind of bogged me down in the beginning but eventually I stopped comparing book and movie and off I went into Uncle Stephen's Overlook. And, oh wow, was it creepy. I haven't been that scared to close my eyes at night in a long while!
