Vampire Academy movie?

Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy has been optioned for a movie. The producers are out courting studios, but it's always hard to say if the film will actually get made.

That didn't stop me from wondering about who should be cast. My top picks are posted on my blog, with photos naturally, but what do you think?

Which actress could exude Rose's tenacity? (My pick was Sophia Bush.) What about Dimitri? Lissa?

I'm curious who you can come up with that will match the mental pictures of the VA characters.

I'm excited about this. I wish they would have done these first instead of Twilight.
I always pictured Dimitri as Taylor Kitsch, Christian as Chace Crawford and Adrian as Brandon Routh. Sophia Bush would be a great Rose. Lissa I would probably picture someone like Taylor Swift.

I'm excited but also worried about this. VA is such an awesome series but I think it could so easily be destroyed by a movie! If they do end up going ahead with the movies, I hope they do the books justice!

I love VA hope they make the movie! Just wonder how there gonna do the rose/lissa connection? Think ben barnes wud be gd as dimitri but I picture him older and more mucsles! He's a fighter after all! Sophie bush was what I pictured from the start but they will prob pick someone younger! I like taylor momsen as Lissa! But in the first book I loved christain he defo needs to b someone like Ed westwick! Now that wud b awesome!!

I'm not really a movie fan. I have next to no idea about actors and actresses, but your votes seem to fit the characters pretty well, Jazmyn. I especially like Dimitri as Taylor Kitsch and Lissa as Taylor Momsen.

That explains it, I've never seen any of those movies.

In those pics, he's very handsome, and his hair is the perfect color and length. I think he'd be doable. Er, for Dimitri, that's what I meant, I swear!

I don't find Antonio Banderas attractive, but that is who I see for Dimitri...I guess Dimitri's look is not one I care for, so I don't see him in my head.
But Adrian looks exactly like Thomas Lennon in my head. Wish I could post a picture!! :-)

Antonio Banderas is in his 40s, too old, IMO. Plus, he's Latino not Russian. :)

I don't really go by the authors description as much as I do the personality of the character. I mean anyone can have green eyes and gold hair. It's how you personally see the person. It's hard for anyone to see the same person. I think we all picture them differently. I just happen to see that face when I read about Adrian. I saw him on "17 again" and I said, "that's him! thats who I see when I read about Adrian!" I had to google him because I had never heard of him before. Sorry to disappoint. It's just what I see.
