Keeping up with S&L discussions

So I know I'm behind the times, I enjoy reading forums but I rarely keep up with them as far as posting and contributing to them. Right now I have S&L sending me a digest email and I was wondering if there is a better way to stay current with discussions here on goodreads.

I remember years ago when message groups really started hitting the big time, there were clients that would download them and keep them all organized via thread. This might work for me, but I'm not sure how to configure something like that to grab the feeds from S&L.

Actually after I posted this I figured out how to subscribe to individual discussions via email. but now my inbox is getting flooded with replies. Some way to get this all into a threaded client would be awesome. How is everyone else keeping up with all the threads of this group?

I just click anything that says 'new' in read that I've been following, and click the 'expand' button.

What I do to catch up with any discussions I miss is to go to The Sword and Laser main page, hit the unread button and browse through the pages of threads that have any unread posts. Things that I am interested in, I open in a new tab and follow that convo that way.
