Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) *Grins* Aw, Tara, you're awesome, LOL.

But, yes, no pressure, indeed! Knowing my luck, no doubt someone will bust out with a question that will leave me sputtering without an answer. But alas, neither rain, sleet, snow, or excessive brain lock will keep me from trying to answer all things Sherrilyn Kenyon/Dark-Hunter! LMAO

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hi,

I have a question which I am not sure has been touched on or not before. But I was curious if SK mentioned writing more about Noir and Azure again or not in her coming books. I have tried looking all over the Dark-Hunter site for answers like that and have not really found any. So was curious if any one else might know. Thanks again.

message 6: by Denise (new)

Denise (justplainme) I participated in a chat with her online a few weeks ago. Apparently Jaden and Jared were not in No Mercy because it was a WereHunter book and they appear in Dream Hunter books. So, I'm guessing that we will not see any more on them or Noir/Azura until she writes another Dream Hunter. No word on when that will be.....

Oh Ok thank you. I participated in the Ustream chat she did as well. However do to technical difficulties I missed the first part of her answering questions. But I understand now from what you said. I can't wait til there is more talk about Jared and Jaden though as I just got this feeling there should be a gay romance between them or something. Although I don't think she is going in that direction. All the same be great to find out more juicy aspects of these characters for sure, amongst others. :)

Denise (justplainme) I had really hoped we would hear more from/about Jaden/Jared in No Mercy. I have the feeling they are either brothers or possibly father/son. I just hate we have to wait so long to find out more, especially after the bomb she dropped at the end of Dream Warrior!

Oh I know, right?! That bomb at the end of Dream Warrior was something else. And the intensity of it really made me wonder what was between them. And your right the wait is terrible. I can barely wait for the second book of CON to come out. I was going to get that with the book that has Zeke's story in it so I can at least have two new books to read. Cause it will be a even longer wait for Sundown's book to come out in August.

message 10: by Denise (new)

Denise (justplainme) August, groan..... the wait, the wait! Can't wait to read that one, it's sure to have Zarek in it, my fave DH!

message 11: by Denise (new)

Denise (justplainme) RE: Jaden and Jared. I have the feeling that they are brothers and that a woman came between them. In Acheron, Jaden mentions something to Acheron about never knowing what will happen when you fall in love, whether you'll land on a mattress or jagged rocks. The way he said it made it sound as though he spoke from experience.

Mine too. Although initially it terrified me when Astrid had to judge him. I mean the whole scaring her thing kind of scared me more than her. As I really thought he might snap in a rather negative way. Did love the naked in her kitchen thing though. My goodness that had to be something to come across. *insert big grin here*

Hmm, that is interesting. Although Jaden seems way too sure of himself to ever allow a woman to come between him and his friends. But could be a possibility. Although Jaden could have gotten messed over by some character like Satara that we haven't even met yet. Maybe even something to do with Jaden being enslaved as he is. Or even same reason as to why Jared was some how enslaved and put into Zephyra's clutches.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I'm curious. Did SK ever explain why Ash can get drunk off of Sprite? I mean I initially guessed that he did cause he doesn't usually drink or eat regular foods and so his body would react to them. But then he ate a bit of that breakfast Tory made and he seemed fine. So what is so special about Sprite? I mean that whole drunken scene was hilarious to me as I'm an avid Sprite drinker myself. And now just taking a sip has me nearly choking as I think about how he reacted to it, lol.

message 15: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments *Spoilers included*

Has SK ever discussed Fang and Aimee's probable children before? I mean I know about and have read their book and even read No Mercy where Sav gives Aimee the ability to have kids with Fang in the end. But was there any elaboration about what species those kids would be? Cause I have a mini theory over them being full blooded Apollites. As that is pretty much the only common genetic trait that Aimee and Fang have in their blood. I don't think the bear and wolf blood would really code well to form a new Katagaria animal (if so that would be freaky as heck. And some what cool but odd as hell, lol). And also as Fang is Katagaria and Aimee is Arcadian there is a chance that the kids could come out as Arcadian which are the more 'human' of the two species. But as a whole though I think they would have to be Apollite or Arcadian Apollites. But definitely not Katagaria at all as I still don't believe a real animal base form could be created between the two of them. Would defy the very laws of nature. But still be awesome in and of itself just would make Wren look reaaaaaaaaaaaallllly normal in the were world by comparison.

message 16: by Steph (new)

Steph (lovessf) I think they would probably be Arcadian. Then maybe turn into either Bear of Wolf. It's deffinately a wierd one to think about. Well they're going to be gorgeous anyway with a father like Fang. He's a favourite of mine!
I also have wondered about the whole sprite thing! It was so funny to read, one of the funniest bits of the book. LOved reading all the posts off this site! They really get you thinking. Reminds me why I love this sreies so much.

Yea that is a possibility. Or be like Wren and be able to choose which animal to turn into. Like can be a wolf one minute and then another time could be a bear. Although it would sort of suck though as it would doubly mean that none of Aimee's kids could inherit mama's seat on the council do to being Arcadian. And also would be another secret the bears have to hide too. Cause no doubt any of their enemies that found out, they would want them off the council and label the kids freaks or something. But still interesting to contemplate.

I can't be 100% on my answer here. But from the few things I have heard from SK through her UStream chat and generally from the Dark-Hunter site. Is that Nick and Simi will each eventually have a book. Will they become each other's intended love interest? That I'm not sure of. As for talking about any future mates for him in the CON series, so far there hasn't really been any. I mean other than the adult Nick going back to help his younger self learn his powers so that he can control them better and I think to warn his younger self about Ash. But beyond that, I don't really believe the CON series will talk about any potential love interests for him as the CON series is under Young Adult. And although their may be some feelings here and there for a girl or 2. I don't think there will be anything too deep as the younger Nick is like way young (14, (someone could correct me if I'm wrong))to have anything serious going on. Not only that but the adult Nick is still with Artemis more or less as well in the CON series so far. And we know that she definitely won't let another female get the ups on her and a guy again for a while since Ash is off with Tory. I'll add too that there is slightly a female that young Nick is interested in in the first CON book. But as we learn through reading about her, she is more or less an enemy that even the adult Nick doesn't fully know that well. Beyond that, just have to read and find out as SK hasn't really revealed too much more than that.

And a bit of personal opinion here. But I hope Simi and Nick dont end up together. I mean I'm sure it was interesting enough for her to have her first time with him when she thought she was human. But to have them end up being love interests down the road would be a bit much. I mean for one Simi has to grow up quite a bit. And she also has to still more or less "learn" herself before she can have a serious relationship with any one I think. I mean it is sweet and amazing how Ash, Alexion, Urian, etc. can treat her like a daughter and value her that way. But I have to agree with her sister, Xirena, that Simi just does not act like a demon at all. She probably is farther behind in proper Charonte Demon protocols than she should be at her age. And with Nick already having a bit of a rocky past with her (whole Ash blow up thing to her losing her v-card to him), coupled with not having a handle on his own powers yet would really make for a destructive couple I think.

I also think that once Nick gets a hold of his powers better. He and Xirena might be a good match. Cause she is already a very tough demon that knows how to hold her own. Sure she might have difficulties at times understanding the human realm of things. But knowing herself as a demon is very evident and I think Nick would need someone like that in his life as a demon. Because regardless of what he teaches himself from the future. It is still going to be a different ball game when he gets around other demons. Not to mention the fact that he already holds a level of respect for the female of the species (like how he treated his mom, female friends, etc. before becoming bitter) and I'm sure Xirena would appreciate that as we discovered that Charontes are a matriarchial race of demons. So having a mate that defers AND respects her would more or less be the foundation of a good match.

Oh and another side note, I hope that Nim and Simi get together. :) I know they are probably miles a part age wise (from the indication of Nim needing a stuffed toy for comfort and carrying it around every where). But I still think they would make a awesome little couple. She could help him get over his fears of Charontes. And he can show her the other side of life in regards to slug demons (someone could correct me if I'm wrong on that one too. I think he is half slug demon and Charonte, but can't remember that part of the book he was in). Hopefully what I said helped and my side opinions weren't too annoying.

No problem at all. And I hope to see how it pans out as well. Most especially as SK keeps hinting about learning new things about his mom and other characters in his life. So really be nifty to see how it all works out. Oh and I will add too that now that I have re-read a part of Devil May Cry, Ash more or less hinted that the sister that Amanda and Tabby lost in Seize the Night would have potentially been Nick's wife if he hadn't lost his temper. As he had told Kat in one reality Nick would have married that sister. But unfortunately she was murdered. So I think that was a potential mate for him that never was realized.

☽ Rhiannon ✭ Mistwalker ☾ (pnr_list) So, I read the series wildly out of order, and one of the first I read was Dream Warrior (I was a bit confused). I figured that Jaden and Jared's story was in previous books, but now that I am all caught up except for No Mercy, I'm still confused, particularly about Jared. In re-reading Dream Warrior, the scraps of background on Jared seem like the sort of summary stuff you see explaining Daimons or something, not new information, but I don't remember there ever being any real details about the Sephirii. Did I miss something?

Hi there,

I have to be honest with ya that even though I have read the series from start to where No Mercy picks up at. I am still vastly confused on the whole Sephirii and Malachai aspects of things. And all I could draw from Dream Warrior was more or less that both groups were created from the primal source and can't really be defeated unless another being of the source cuts ties or something with the source and then the Sephirii step in and dispense their version of justice. And more or less act as the other source of checks and balances for the Malachai. Beyond that and there being mention of Jared's betraying the other Sephirii, I have to say I am at a complete loss like yourself. I know they were a new group that was brought out during all the Noir parts of things. But not sure about anything else where they are concerned. I would like to read more about them and Noir though for sure. Cause that seemed like the most action the Dream-Hunters had going for them. Other than that it just seems like M'Ordant and the other 2 dream-hunter chiefs have just been making cameos left and right in books and not getting any real action themselves. And as we have learned now that Nick is part Malachai and Jared is a Sephirii, I think we might get to learn more about them as well. Might even have a few snippets revealed in the CON series too I hope.

Steph (lovessf) Big question for you all!
Retribution came out a few days ago. I have currently been steaming my way through the entire series to refresh my memory. Now I have finished. I went to buy the book and they won't sell it in paperback until April 2012!
I own the whole series in paperback, and wish to cuntinue buying them in paperback. Does anyone know why it's not being sold in paperback? I mean they're even selling it on Kindle (which I do have, but I don't fancy buying the same book twice).
Any ideas???

message 27: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Um actually I read a article in the paper that it is pretty typical for paper backs to be released a year later after the hard back copies come out. And that it is more or less a sort of supply and demand thing in regards to if a paper back will come out sooner or later. Meaning that if there is more sales from hard backs then the paper back will get it's usual year later release. But if the hard backs not selling as well then the paper back is released sooner. Hope that helps a bit.

message 28: by Steph (new)

Steph (lovessf) Ok thanks. I think I might have to get it on the Kindle. Then get the paperback when it comes out here. Thanks for your help.

message 31: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Could land in the swamp water or maybe Beth catches it for him, lol.

message 32: by Vassi (new)

Vassi | 8 comments Question about Zarek- I just reread the series and finished his book. So we were told that Artemis chooses tall and handsome men for her DH, and also men who were very good fighters- like roman or greek generals. And Zarek all his life, and especially when he died, was crippled, deformed and never fought back- he just barely survived. So why should she make him DH, when she even could not stand to touch him to take his soul?

message 33: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Good question Vassi. I don't think it was ever directly addressed in the books. But Artemis being who she is. I think she just made him to get on Ash's nerves. Particularly knowing that in many ways Zarek demonstrated the lowest parts of Ash's human life. So she likely made him a DH to rub a little extra salt in Ash's wounds about his past.

message 34: by Vassi (new)

Vassi | 8 comments Thanks, Dhfan4life, very good point ! Makes sense

message 35: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

message 36: by Deb (new)

Deb | 5 comments Weren't the fates involved in her decision?
Also, he was quite the tortured soul

message 37: by Vassi (new)

Vassi | 8 comments No, I remember no fates involved
Or you could say- fates are pretty much involved in everything, but were not especially mentioned as taking part in Zarek's recruitment
Another think I was wondering about Zarek...Dark hunters can sence the souls of people( and in Daimons too), but neither Ash, nor the other DHs senced that Zarek had his soul intact

message 38: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Good eye on that Vassi. But I think that too was explained away given the fact that Artie and Ash kept him sequestered away from others. Under that label of being too crazy and unstable. So kicked his butt out there to Alaska where the only DH he really talked to was online. Or on the flip side, I don't think we have actually seen a DH sense another person's soul that they weren't particularly close to or was a Daimon. Like in Kyrian and Julian's case. I always thought Ky could sense Julian's child's soul before he was born. Was because there was a closer bond of friendship between the two. And maybe as it is just a minor DH ability, Ky didn't mind expending a little power to perform it to check out the health of his best bud's child.

But I do see your point though Vassi. Cause when Sundown was trying to help Zarek in his book. Sundown didn't even sense Zarek's soul. But I still think it goes back to a deep down close bond. I mean Zarek and Sundown are friends true enough. But totally not on the same level as Kyrian and Julian. And the simple fact is Zarek is one of those characters that often threw a whole lot of 'tude(attitude that is) around and even if there was someone that sensed his soul when they were hunting for him. They likely would have forgotten about it just as quickly cause Zarek would have said something crazy or butt-kicking inducing and the other person would have forgot so fast and threw up their fists to go a couple of rounds with him, lol.

And my final guess to why others couldn't possibly sense Zarek's soul is given who some of the characters are. I mean they all have different backgrounds true enough. And that can't be held against them as variety is the spice of life as we know. But I think for every say 50 DHs created there are just a sprinkling of a few that believe in souls or accessing them or whatever. I mean sure they all on some level probably believe in it enough to have accepted Artie's bargain. But after that for many they seem like regular joe's and jane's that don't even think about souls all that much. More like what is the quickest thrill or way to piss somebody off or something. But no real deep tap into my minor abilities and check on souls being in people that aren't Daimons. I guess in a way it's a sort of arrogance thing or strict adherence to the fact that you protect the humans with souls. And kill anything with a ink blot that has souls in it. The latter surely wasn't Zarek. So was no real trigger even then to sense him having a soul.

message 39: by Vassi (new)

Vassi | 8 comments Thanks for your comment
it is just that...I was rereading the series, and knowing what happens next, I could focus more on small thinks like this. And I was thinking something along the line that Artemis somehow "masked" his soul, because she would not like for Ash to feel it and know Zarek is no real DH( he has more powers then the average DH, and also he was really surprised at the end of the book that Zarek has his soul intact, and also he had "special" attitude towards Zarek)
Well, Zarek is really special case, and since he keeps popping out in the series here and there, these things might be explained some day :)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hi Serendipity,

This is how I learned. First go to Google, find your image. Once you have found it, right click the image and look for view image info.

That will pop open a new window, and in that box you will look for where it says location. You are going to have to copy all of that link. From the http:// to the JPEG or GIF ending.

Paste that link into Word for a second. Then come over to GR and do you see where the (some html is ok) is? To the right of add book/author? You click on that and then look for where it says image and right next to that is a img source code, you are going to need to copy down into your GR post. The whole thing even with the width and height settings.

Once you have the image source code pasted in your post. Your going to have to delete out the http://goodreads address that is in the parenthesis and go back over to Word and copy that image location you have and paste it in between the parenthesis.

Once that is done, check and see if the image shows using the preview button at the bottom of the post box next to post. Should show your image. If you see it, you've just learned how to post a image on here.

From there you can resize your image. From what I've been told setting both height and width to 400 makes the image look not so pinched or scrunched up. Oh and most importantly make sure there are no spaces anywhere in the coding or your image won't show up.

You do the same thing for GIFs.
