Not to me, but there's a thread about it here.

in good company :)"
Awwww, shucks. *blush*

well, if you are ever in NH in the summertime, I recommend Newfound Lake near Bristol,NH. it's really gorgeous.

I agree, that's not even 10% off! It costs that much for an Ipad? Color me surprised. Glad I am not a materialistic idiot. Do you know how many books I can buy with $500?

I know one person who owns an ipad who isn't but the rest -- materialistic idiots sums them up quite nicely.
Why wow? Did people need ipads six months ago?

Most of the people I know could not afford $500 for a "toy". My cousin has an Ipad,Iphone etc.etc. but she is in the top 5% income bracket. everybody I know is in the lower middle class where just owning a used laptop is a windfall. And, I am sure you can find some device without the apple logo that will do pretty much the same thing an Ipad does and it will cost significantly less. Maybe they could donate the difference to the local soup kitchen, women's shelter, abused childrens home....I suppose those with sufficient disposable income can spend it as they wish...If Ipads are manufactured here at least they are supporting the economy. But paying more money because it has an apple on it....?

Kevin I did say I knew one person who had one for non-materialistic reasons. I am not bagging the product or saying that it is a bad thing. The problem is that I see a lot of people giving them to their kids as if they were a toy. It has become the latest and greatest must have possession. It's the speed of redundancy of this sort of product that worries me. It feels like as soon as you buy them the next must have product comes along. It is a never ending cycle I find it depressing.

I LOVE CLAM CHOWDER. As long as it's good. I don't like bad clam chowder. You know what's hard to find, is really good chili. Seems like I'm always going in restaurants that boast "Our chili won the 2005 Chili Contest!" and it tastes like beans, ketchup and hot sauce.

I put a little milk in it, I don't like it as thick as it comes out of the can, and I like marjoram in it, too, but I'm pretty sure that's just me who does that.
