I'm counting page numbers from the first listing of the book on GR. For example, Confetti Girl shows 208 pages listed so I am using that amount. Sometimes the page totals on GR are higher, sometimes lower, than the actual copy you're reading but that keeps the totals fair for everyone.

Since I know you aren't sure what to post, I'll ask you a couple of questions (even though I said I wasn't going to help anyone!) :)
You get 5 points for each new genre you read. It's your 1st book, so it's definitely a new genre. Which genre is it?
Have you read this book before? If not, you get points for it being a new read.
You listed 15 points, but I'm not sure what criteria you met besides the first book for that letter. Can you please list the other two?
I'm going to post the point value system here just one more time. Hope it helps!Point Value System:
1. For the first book you read for each letter, you will receive 5 points.
2. For any additional books you read for each letter, you will receive 3 points each.
3. For each book read, you may receive additional points if the book also meets any of the following criteria:
- The book is listed on our WT Top Novel list (+5)
- The book is listed on our WT Group Bookshelf (+5)
- You have not read the book before (+5)
- The book is an award winner/honoree (not just nominated!) (+5)
- The book works for Kellee’s monthly challenge for July, Aug or Sept 2010 (+5)
- The book is a WT group read book for July, Aug or Sept 2010 (+5)
- You start or contribute to an existing discussion about the book (+5)
4. When reporting completion of tasks, please list the following:
- The letter of the alphabet you are completing & the title/ author of the book (with a hyperlink is super helpful!)
- Total pages of the book
- All additional criteria met for that letter
5. If you don’t claim the points from the additional criteria I will not give them to you automatically, there are too many books to check each one. You have to tell me what points your books are eligible for!
***Genre Points Bonus***
The whole goal of the challenges is to get you to pick up something new and different. So, for each different genre you read, you will earn 5 points. This is only available once per genre. Only one genre can be claimed per book. (i.e. you can't claim both paranormal and romance for Twilight.) Check out our discussion boards to find some books in other genres that may fit into your A-Z!
Here's a list of the genres we'll accept for this challenge:

Angela - I think it is 10 points...it is a first read of the letter (not a re-reading or an additional letter) - +5, and a genre (when does realistic/contemporary change to historical - this takes place in 1969 during Vietnam) - +5
So I am correcting mine to be
10 points and 176 pages.
I will try to keep it straight for the future.

No problem, Alyson... It's totally confusing!
You get +5 for it being the first book for the letter S
You get +5 for it being a new read (not a re-read)
You get +5 for it being a new genre
So you DO get 15 points for this one. And the realistic vs. historical is totally up to you. If it feels like a historical piece, then that's okay by me :) Just let me know which way you want to go with it!

Angela - I am going to go with Historical Fiction as the genre for this one. And thanks for helping with the scoring. I am going to email you some other questions.

Laura, unfortunately you can't get credit for a book for the August monthly challenge unless you read it in August.
Awww, that's a bummer, I wasn't thinking I'd get Monthly Challenge points, but thought I'd get Reading Challenge points for books read in any of those three categories. Say it ain't so, Angela!
(But if it is, no biggie)
Kellee's right... actually, we wouldn't know what the future challenges were going to be and just have to wait until those months to see if we can get any to fit, but Kellee posted the themes early so we could plan ahead. The monthly challenges are retroactive, though, so if you finish a book in September for this challenge and realize it would've fit Kellee's July challenge you can count it. :)
hehe, I wouldn't have wanted to wait til August for Knife. It was awesome. Couldn't wait to tear into it.Good to know tho.

Yah, I hadn't thought ahead to clarify that on the rules, but it's there now. That way we don't take away from Kellee's fun either :)
