Aloha all. I'm a reader writer and PNR UF and several other letter combinations fan. What's up with all the series now days? Ya Ya I write one myself but some of them end in the middle
0f a sentence and it drives me crazy. Crazy enough to read the next one ( guess I answered my own question)I think it has to do with the whole binge craze right now. Do you all think it will die down or our we are headed toward the ultimate bender? Either way I'm happy to ride and read the wave. Happy reading to you all. J. Lee Roberts
I'm lovin' the wave, J b/c I'm a serious series addict. I love being able to return to a world and its characters over and over again. I'm not as big a fan of serials though - unless I have all of them before starting. Welcome to the group!
I everyone I'm new and am a book addict! My den has them stacked all over the den. In cabinets, On a small books shelf. In bedroom and in the cats room. Glad to meet all of you book lovers! Hope to chat a lot!
Welcome Tina! I've got books everywhere too, so much so, that I've started buying books on kindle, not just the shorties & novellas. Book addicts are always welcome :D
Hi, I'm Kelsi. I am excited to be part of this group! I am a big fan of the Paranormal genre so am looking forward to exploring the group and reading with you all :)
Hi everyone! I am looking for a fantasy book club that is not primarily YA. Im just wondering what type of novels you usually read. Im new to the goodreads book clubs and would love to find a group!
Welcome Rowen! I personally don't really read YA or even NA, just the odd one now & then.If you look at our group bookshelf, you'll find 4568 books listed and only 519 say they are YA.
We don't feature any YA challenges or YA BOM but if someone wants to talk about a YA book we don't discourage them either. All books and authors are fair game here. LOL.
Hello I'm Catherine, but friends call me Cat. I work full time, have two kids, and take college classes so I'm pretty busy. However I always find time for my books and I'm seriously overloaded on series. My main problem right now is that I have series that I read the first couple and now there are 5 or more, but it's been so long since I read the first books that I'm going to have to go back and re-read them to remember everything. So, there are a lot of series sitting on my shelves and yet I am still purchasing new books all the time. My favorite author/team is Ilona Andrews.
LOL Lynn! Busted!Welcome, Cat! You are definitely not alone in your - "there are a lot of series sitting on my shelves and yet I am still purchasing new books all the time" - we ALL do that! :D
I did not mention it only because I wasn't trying to promote myself or sound like a snob or something. But yes, I am guilty as charged! Thanks Lynn! :-) Since you said it, I won't feel bad about it being put out there hahahaSteph, I wish I could focus on one series at a time, but others just sound SO interesting that I can't pass them up. Plus, I missed talking with people about series that are relevant as they are coming out. Or at least that is my excuse ;-)
Nah, it's all good, I was just teasing Lynn. We welcome all series fans! Authors are readers too! :)Oh, I hear ya! I sometimes focus on one series, at least for a couple of books, but I always stray to another. I've never been able to read one series from beginning to end without a break, at least not one with more than 3-4 books out at the time.
That's a good
You should be proud to be an author. I understand not wanting to toot your own horn, but others can toot it for ya;)
Welcome Cat! *And waves hi to Lynn* haven't seen you around for a while :)We understand wanting to chat about the latest while sitting on a horde of books and going Oh the Shiny. We definitely all do it.
Its great you're an author as well, and as Lynn said its always good when someone else acknowledges you :D
hello, Ella from Malaysia. Anybody interested in being my pen pal. do private message me ur address. the long handed letter are in edge of extinction ( is it correct spell) sorry if it is off topic.
Richard here. Both reader and author of fantasy, including urban fantasy. Some of my early novels were urban fantasy and now I've just released the first in a new series through Pyr Books! I've gotten some great reviews, including from PW, BOOK LIST, FANTASY FACTION, & others. Read Storm Front when it first came out and still remember the old BEAUTY AND THE BEAST TV series with fondness.Posting my new release in the appropriate place.
Actually, is there an appropriate place? Don't see one. Also, enjoyed the first several ANITA BLAKE novels, especially the very first, GUILTY PLEASURES!
Welcome Richard! I also enjoyed Guilty Pleasures :)If you want to promote your latest book, you can do so in the folder Around Goodreads & the WWW
Thank you, Sandra!. I knew Laurell well back then, even blurbed one of her earlier novels. I knew that with Guilty Pleasures she would be jumping into the big time!
Hello all, my name is Aden Lewis and I am a new author. With my first book Heart of the Pride
of the Fur, Lust & Magic series. I will have the second one out by the end of April. I co-author these books with my friend Mary Leihsing.
Hi all. Joined this group because I am addicted to starting new series and then getting behind on them. I am hoping the challenges in this group help me get caught up in some of my series because I have learned that without goals I just keep adding more series. And somehow, goals that I create myself never seem to work as well as challenges others have created.
I've got so many series.......when I get a new one, I'll read all the way thru. The problem comes a year or two later. If I scroll down my pcKindle to check and find a new addition available for an old series. I'll often take the time to re-read...either the whole thing if it was really good, or at least the last few...just to get back into the "environs".
Welcome Sam & Art!! I think you've both stated what most of us do with series - keep adding new ones & lots of us read a series right through. Hope we can help keep the series addiction under control. But probably not so much. LOL. At least you'll be among friends.
Hi Sam! I hear ya! I have a small(ish) list of series I keep up with and read as soon as a new release comes out, others tend to fall behind. But, series binge reads are fun sometimes too; especially when you don't have those long waits between installments.
Steph wrote: "This group was born on 22 May 2010 and now, on 1 July, we have 99 members! ..."And approaching the six year anniversary it will be 3,258 or so. With I seem to remember an even larger membership before Amazon buyout.
Either is good!! We do get new members signing up for Bingo, but generally its a steady increase all the time.
I'm new to this group, but not to GR. This looks like a fun place, and I love series. Off to browse around some more now... :)

Tina, you are here! welcome to the fold, friend
Hi I am Alicia, thank you for adding me as I will sure ask you all on reading advice and actively talk about various novels. :)
Hi, I'm new here! I'm Alex, I write m/m romance and read widely in all genres. Looking forward to participating, happy to be here!
Hello everyone, new member here! I'm Hellena and I tend to live in a PNR world about half the time - the rest I spend working and sleeping. I would love to give up my job to have more time for reading, but I wouldn't have any money to buy books then... tough choice :pMore seriously now (but not too much) I joined so that I can find new suggestions for good PNR/UF books. I have read over 1000 so far but I am always looking for new stories.
Enjoy your days :)
