Let me know what you think.

So, I finished it-mainly to get it over with before my work week started. I wanted to have something else to look forward to reading on my breaks. :)
My review is on the top of the list here-it's pretty short. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/61...
I don't know if I'll read the next or not-I might give it chance, to see if there's any redemption coming up, but then again, I might just skip it since the only character I liked won't be in it. Grumble.

Hah! These aes sedai are getting on my nerves, Light take them! Burn me, but this battle of the sexes is getting old!

Going back and re-reading some of those puts me in mind of our "classics" discussion in fantasy--it's surprising how many books don't seem to stand the test of time. I had recently unburied a series by Jack Chalker and that was high fantasy take-off/spoof and it just seems so dated.

I am reading Genesis and The Name of the Wind and I am enjoying both. Although many of Kvothe's choices in Name of the Wind drive me crazy.

So what did you think of Little Big?

So what did you think of Little Big?"
I liked it, I'm glad I finally read it. I think I enjoyed the first half of the book better than the second half but I was interested through to the end. It was definitely a bit complicated and I'm sure I didn't catch all the underlying messages/themes but I liked the challenge and definitely enjoyed it and thought it was worth the read.

Yeah, it took me about ten times in order to finish the book. I agree that the firs half is really much better than the second have. Plus if I had not read it for class I would not have finished or know what the book was really about, faries controling the world against big business.

I feel like you can stop here for a while, since the book first was published as six books.

Such a good series! I hope you enjoy them.

I really want to try Of Blood and Honey -- how are you liking it?

I mean look at how the first six book was first published as paperback only with a different cover artist, plus not to mention after the first six I think he switched editors. Also it did kind of leave on a closed ending.

But I don't get what you mean about all being one book or released as one book?????
I may just not be getting what you mean.

I really want to try Of Blood and Honey -- how are you liking it?"
I was looking forward to it but I'm actually not loving it so far. I'm hoping it will turn around for me once I get a bit farther in.

No, I mean how the books of Dresden changed the way it looked after the sixth book, meaning the the publisher may have just bought six, but when they became successful, they bought more, and started releasing the news in hardcover.

Okay, not being disagreeable, just don't follow your reasoning.

I don't mean it as one book. I just meant the first six was a good stopping point because they were all designed differently.

I did not like this book at all and I live in work in Chicago -- everyone know loves the book. Not me.

Thanks I just picked it up yesterday cause it was on sale and I planned on reading it anyway.

Yes I love the series and really recommend you read them in order. The characters change and grow, as do their relationships...and of course some die and some prosper. A great series.

Thanks will do that for sure I think I saw most of them at the library last week

I burned out on The Sword of Truth after the 1st book but I persevered to book 3.
