I finally have a book, and have never read it, that I can read for a group read. It'll be hard to wait till July. I may have to start early.
Really? Oh that's right it's in parts. Well at least you'll be all ready to dicuss! :) How are you liking it?
I know right?! I can't believe June's already slipped between my very short fingernails! LOL! :)Kate: I loved it! LOL; just finished it yesterday. The ending made me mad, because it was open-ended. You'll get what I'm tlaking about. :}
I love this book...Are you readaing Catching Fire next...it's fantastic too..the books are soo captivating, I just couldn't stop reading and the anticipation of waiting for Mockingjay is killing me lol!!!!
The hunger games is an AMAZING BOOK...i suggest the next 2 group reads be Catching fire(2nd hunger game book) & Mockingjay (which comes out in AUG) I have to say that I loved HUNGER GAMES...I fell in love with everyone (except for the people who rule in the capitol)
I'm not interested in reading it, but I guess I'm gonna try to read it since everybody thinks it's that awesome :)

I already have the ebook and the audiobook and i am ready to read it soon, but not now. maybe next week
I want to get Catching Fire on my Kindle that way I can go ahead and read it, but I'd rather have the actual book because that's how I have THG.
cool. Well I got the book about two or three days ago. Probly wont even get around to reading it till August.
Okay I posted this question somewhere else but maybe some of you could also help me with it. I am just curious about something but I'll give a little more info than just the question. Okay so you (Z) may know that I've been trying to read like crazy this summer and only now are really getting into lots of books. So I'm trying to read lots of books and one of them is none other than the Hunger Games. However I'm about 80 pages into the book, I can't remeber the chapter but I can say that it's right after Katniss remembers that redhead girl who's a mute and she tells, please ignore the wrong spelling I apoligize if it's wrong, anyway she just told Peeta about the girl and where her and Gale saw her get captured. Anyway I was wondering when it starts to get really good because now, not that it's boring but...well it just seems like it's I don't know not as good as everyone says it is. I know people have said that once you get past the begining it gets really amazing but I'm wondering when that's going to be since I'm almost 100 pages in. I'm just wondering if I should put it down for a while and try to read some other books or what. Sorry that was really long but some of you know that I have a tendancy to be really long in everything I write. That's just the way I am but if anyone could answer that I would love you! :)
LOL! Kate, it wasn't too long at all. :).And to answer your question, once Katniss and Peeta get into the arena, then everything gets really good. That's what I think, anyway. :D. Hope that helped!
well for me, it's not boring at all. but I guess there are some parts there are boring along the way. Some parts in the arena were also boring, but I liked the whole book very much.
Thank you everyone! It's not that they're boring just not super great and exciting for me quite yet. Plus with the other books that I'm reading that are more summery and lighter maybe that's why it's a little hard to get in to right now. One min. I'm reading a hilarious book that's super funny an then I go to the hunger games which is more serious. I know it does not seem like it but I do like it. but I'm think I may wait until fall to continue reading it. Keep my books light until school starts. Thank you everyone. It's good to know that I'm not the only one who thinks some parts are as exciting and that it'll get really good when they get to the arena. I keep waiting for that and I was wondering if that was even in the first book. Oh I got to stop now since I'm writin this via by itouh, so sorry if stuff is grammatically or spelled wrong. :)
Haha, no problem. Everything looks like it's spelled correctly enough to me :). And you're totally welcome! :D.
I agree. I wouldn't say myself the beginning is boring but once they are in the area the real excitement begins and it pulls in so that you don't want to stop reading because you need to know what happens next.
Sorry I haven't been on forever. :/I read Hunger Games a while ago and love it! Catching Fire is also good (and parts funny) and I can't wait for Mockingjay to come out! It comes out August. . .20 somethingth

Aviva (Shibalio) wrote: "Yeah! She said she recommended it definitely. But maybe she had to distribute them and read one."Yeah, that sounds like that's what happened.
Leanne: You're welcome! I don't mind at all. Can't wait till you give me my copy of CF back, though, so that I can read it :P. Haha
IKR? That's what I've been hearing, but just haven't been able to get around to reading it. I've had the darn book for a month now. LOL
yeah!!... my mommy said she would get me mockingjay.. ahhhaha . i still need a list of books Z for your b-day.... lets finish his convo under talking..
Yeah whatever... I'll get a list ready for you soon. Have to look through my 900+ GRs to-read list :).
"We star-crossed lovers of District 12, who suffered so much and enjoyed so little the rewards of our victory, do not seek our fans' favor, grace them with our smiles, or catch their kisses. We are unforgiving. And I love it. Getting to be myself at last."
and
"I'm going to wake Peeta," I [Katniss:] say.
No, wait," says Finnick. "Let's do it together. Put our faces right in front of his."
Well, there's so little opurtunity for fun left in my life, I agree. We position ourselves on either side of Peeta, lean over until our faces are inches frim his nose, and give him a shake. "Peeta. Peeta, wake up," I say in a soft, singsong voice.
His eyelids flutter open and the he jumps like we've stabbed him. "Aa!"
Finnick and I fall back in the sand, laughing our heads iff. Every time we try to stop, we look at Peeta's attempt to maintain a disdainful expression an it sets us off again."
Both those places were awesome
