message 1502: by Paula Tohline (last edited Feb 26, 2013 11:37AM) (new)

Paula Tohline Calhoun (paulatohlinecalhoun) | 493 comments Hors D'oeuvres. Always more variety from which to choose.

Standard Time or Daylight Savings Time?

(You don't want to know my answer to that one, believe me!)

message 1503: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I like it when it gets dark earlier, and don’t like springing forward and falling back. I wish we were on Standard Time all year.

Louis Armstrong or Harry James?

message 1504: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4483 comments Nuthin' beats "Satchmo" in my opinion! (Louis Armstrong)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Staying home, usually.
Hello, Al!

Peanuts or nuts and bolts?

message 1510: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Butterflies, but only because you get to see them in the sunlight.

Moonlight or sunlight?

message 1511: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Storms

Brunch or British tea?

message 1512: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Brunch. I don't drink tea very often, and then only herbal.

Tea or Coffee?

message 1513: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Coffee

A few close friends or many acquaintances?

message 1514: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Few friends; life isn't a popularity contest — unless you're a politician.

Political correctness or sycophancy?

message 1515: by Paula Tohline (new)

At last! Let's get married! You are truly a person after my own heart! LEAVE THE CLOCKS ALONE! LOL

Paula Tohline Calhoun (paulatohlinecalhoun) | 493 comments Show or Tell?

Political correctness or sycophancy?"

I thought you were supposed to offer a choice between two different things, Guy.

message 1518: by Guy (last edited Feb 27, 2013 11:52AM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments ;-\
Although there is a subtle distinction.

message 1519: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Great response, Paula! There aren’t many things I consider more vile than political correctness. As for show or tell, it depends on what’s to be shown or told.

Violin or viola?

message 1520: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Violin.

Vitriol or Vaseline.

message 1521: by Paula Tohline (new)

Paula Tohline Calhoun (paulatohlinecalhoun) | 493 comments Guy, we move apart here. . .viola every time. And between viola and cello, CELLO!!!

Vaseline - only because it cleans up better.

Paper or Plast. . . nah, too common.

Deaf or Blind?

Violin or viola?"

M: Exactly so! Why doesn't everybody know that by now?

message 1523: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Deaf. I love silence. I don’t even listen to music very often. I would sorely miss my eyesight, however.

Ralph Vaughan Williams or Samuel Barber?

message 1524: by Paula Tohline (new)

Paula Tohline Calhoun (paulatohlinecalhoun) | 493 comments RVW in a heartbeat - but I cast no aspersions on Barber. Why would you care anyway - since you don't listen to music? LOL

Time or Talent?

message 1525: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Time, I guess. Talent is vastly overrated. I never said I didn’t love music. I just don’t listen to it much. I love books, but I don’t do much reading. Williams and Barber are two of my favorites. I think Barber’s “Adagio for Strings” is one of the most gorgeous things I’ve ever heard.

An audiophile or a music lover?

message 1526: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL! Does the first refer to having sex with someone while music is playing, and the second just having sex with the music itself? If so, then the first one.

Paula, if you LOVE the cello, have you listend to Zoë Keating? If you enjoyed that, you may find her interview with Chase Jarvis interesting.

An acolyte or an agoraphobic?

message 1527: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Dreams.

Big dreams or small dreams?

message 1528: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Supper, I think.

Brunch or lunch?

message 1529: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Whichever offers a club sandwich.

Which for a side: cole slaw or fries?

message 1530: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Coleslaw if it doesn't have a cream or mayonnaise based dressing, otherwise, fries.

Yam fries or Yukon Gold fries?

message 1531: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Yam I think, that are the only ones I've ever tried.

Headphones or ear-buds?

message 1532: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Headphones, definitely :D

One pillow or more than one pillow?

message 1533: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) More than one. I use them to prop myself up when I read.

Wheel chair or crutches?

message 1534: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Wheel Chair; it seems like that would be more fun, as long as it was permanent at least.

Pizza or salad?

message 1535: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Pizza, never really been one for salad.

Crickets or Frogs

message 1536: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments To eat? Neither. Of course, chocolate covered crickets are good — at least that's what I've been told.

Frog legs or rabbit?

message 1537: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Rabbit.

Mondays or Tuesdays?

message 1538: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Fridays.

B&N or Borders?

message 1540: by Guy (last edited Mar 08, 2013 06:40AM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I don't have either where I am. So my book place is Renaissance Books, used.

Reuben or pastrami sandwiches?

message 1541: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4483 comments B&N! (Borders was a great place to hang out but was too expensive)

And I would like to try pastrami hopefully it is not as stomach-involved (let's say..) as a Reuben lol.

Telephone or cell-phone?

message 1542: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4483 comments I answered both since they overlapped and I didn't want anyone to feel left out. :)

message 1543: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Telephone.

Who would you rather have dinner with: a movie star of your choice or an author of your choice?

message 1544: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Excellent question!

Probably author, but with movie stars, you never know. Did you know that Hedy Lamarr held patents for technology that was used in military guidance systems in WWII and that is a part of modern cell phone technology? Her history is fascinating!

Write a script from scratch or transcribe one from a book or story?

message 1545: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Transcribe but only if it was not a well known book. If I had to do something big like LOTR or Narnia or something like that I would rather just come up with my own.

A green house or a blue one?

message 1546: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments A greenhouse. I’m not much on growing plants, but I like all the glass.

It’s getting dark outside. Which would you rather do: curl up in the lamplight, in a comfortable chair, with a good book; or go the mall and watch people?

message 1547: by Paula Tohline (new)

Paula Tohline Calhoun (paulatohlinecalhoun) | 493 comments My Dr. told me yesterday that I had to get an electric wheelchair. Because she knows I am so impulsive she wants me to get one with a stap that hold me in with a key that only my husband can use! FAT CHANCE! (I don't think she was serious about that part!)

I tell you this because reading is what I love, and sitting in my hopefully comfy wheelchair and reading a good book will definitely be easier and for me a lot more fun, although I do like people-watching.

OK: Next question - re-read a favorite book, or read a new one you have only heard a little about?

message 1548: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments That depends on the phase of the moon. Each have their appeals. Today it is re-read an old favourite. I was just browsing my shelf before visiting to see what old one was calling my name.

Read at night or read during the day?

message 1549: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Night. When I have insomnia, a few lines of contemporary poetry usually put me right out.

A sedan or a sportscar?

message 1550: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments How about a sedan with a hatchback? Station wagons are awesome.

Waking up early or staying up all night?
