Owning books or borrowing books?

Reading a book that someone has written notes in the margins, or one unsullied by another's thoughts?

Washing dishes by hand, or putting them in the dishwasher?

Have book shelves with no books or lots of books and no shelves.

@ M, experience then education. If you get education first, you may think you know and then it is harder to let experience teach you anything and can be very frustrating. If you are uneducated before experience, you are keen to learn from it, and then education becomes the path to enlightenment and not frustration. Of course, until you have had experience you won't know that education is often times the means of creating blindness to what is actually happening.
Learning in a classroom or with a mentor?
