message 1301: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Haha, good point.

I like Sunny in summer and rainy in winter, what I get is rainy all year long.

Jeremy Renner or David Tennant?

message 1302: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Christa, this one had me completely stumped; but, I guess since neither are my type, I'm thinking I'll opt for Halle Barry or Eva Mendes.

Okay. Meeting someone interesting or someone famous?

message 1303: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Hahah, sorry I forgot to make an exception for the men :D

Someone Interesting, but if he also has loads of money that wouldn't be bad either :D

A small house in the country or a big house in the middle of a huge city?

message 1304: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Small house in either. Easier to clean, more cozy, less enslavement generally to material things.

Someone who is interesting but likes the books you hate, or someone boring but who loves the book you love?

message 1305: by Guy (last edited Nov 20, 2012 10:10PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Tough question! I have a very slight preference to the ice tea variety.

David Byrne with Talking Heads or after Talking Heads?

message 1306: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Make a speech, I have good stage presence but suck at
writing.

Making Bread or buying it?

message 1307: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Making bread, actually. Love the smell! And fresh bread, still warm from the oven and just barely sliceable with 'real' butter might be as close to heaven on earth it is possible to get.

Christa, you don't 'suck at writing' at all. Everything you write not only appears to be spelled correctly and put in the correct order, but is creative and interesting.

Reading bad poetry or bad prose?

message 1308: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments I'd rather read bad poetry. It tends to be shorter than prose.

Huckleberry Finn or The Scarlet Letter?

message 1309: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Scarlet Letter

Thank you M, It's always nice to hear someone enjoyed my stuff.

Listening to a book on CD or reading it yourself?

message 1310: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Reading it myself. I like being able to hold it in my hands.

Ebooks or physical copies?

message 1311: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Reading, although I love reading books out loud. I was reading Moby Dick to my friend Betty because she thought it was hard. Alas, she discovered it isn't and is now reading it on her own. :-(

Reading out loud to someone or having someone reading out loud to you?

message 1312: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Snow for Christmas!

Breakfast or Brunch?

message 1313: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Brunch

Climbing the highest mountain or diving to the deepest depths?

message 1314: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Climbing if it was a force, but neither, really.

Al, what would you like me to read to you? Moby Dick was super fun to read out loud. But if I were to choose, I think I'd pick The River Why.

Snorkelling with friendly fish or petting sharks from a cage?

message 1315: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Snorkelling with friendly fish. I'm too much of a coward to do much of anything having to do with a shark, unless it involves shark week on the discovery channel.

Science fiction or fantasy?

message 1316: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Oh depends on the author, there are bad apples in each section, but most likely fantasy.

To be or not to be?

message 1317: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL! Both, because that seems to be an inevitability, so might just as well prefer both. But not at the same time.

Tempest or Midsummer Nights' Dream

message 1318: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Who is that by?

message 1319: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments The River Why is by David James Duncan, a writer from Oregon, I think.

And it is EXCELLENT , one of my personal top 20 works of fiction. Maybe top 10. I've read it out loud to my wife, twice, and read it 4 other times (I think) beyond that.

❄️ Propertea Of Frostea ❄️ Bitter SnoBerry ❄ (berrynumey) May I continue?

Guy wrote: "Tempest or Midsummer Nights' Dream"

Midsummer Night's Dream

John Keats or Robert Frost?

message 1321: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Frost, I think.

Robert Frost or Wallace Stevens?

message 1322: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (last edited Dec 27, 2012 02:31AM) (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4483 comments Robert Frost. Though I am only choosing him because of his familiar name, I have never read from either writer.

Ernest Hemingway or F. Scott Fitzgerald?

message 1323: by Rose (new)

Rose Boehm (rosemaryboehm) Guy wrote: "The River Why is by David James Duncan, a writer from Oregon, I think.

Just bought it, Guy. With your recommendation I have no doubt I'll love it. Hope it gets here. But the Peruvian post office has been a little more honest lately. I got all my books - and in record time! Amazon should pay you!

message 1324: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I can’t decide between Hemingway and Fitzgerald.

Electric guitar or acoustic guitar?

message 1325: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Acoustic guitar. More soul.

Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter?

message 1326: by Rose (new)

Rose Boehm (rosemaryboehm) I can't decide between anything. I devour everything that - as far as I am concerned - is high quality stuff. From classical to jazz to experimental, from Gormenghast to Chomsky, from Lady and the Tramp to The African Queen - you put it there, I'll have it.

message 1327: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments There’s an interesting contrast of electric- and acoustic guitar in Al Stewart’s “Year of the Cat,” a song that was popular in the late 1970’s, and that I really liked. I love a Spanish guitar! I have an old one made by the Suzuki Violin Company. It’s a Japanese Spanish guitar.

A female vocalist with a high, clear voice, or a female vocalist with sultry, smoky voice?

message 1328: by Rose (new)

Rose Boehm (rosemaryboehm) I also love the Spanish guitar. It's unique.

message 1329: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Hmmmm, I think I prefer a high, clear female voice.

Root beer or cream soda?

message 1330: by Rose (new)

Rose Boehm (rosemaryboehm) Beer or beer?

message 1331: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I’m not a beer drinker, but occasionally I don’t mind something really pale with a Reuben sandwich (and I never turn down one of those).

A Reuben sandwich or a club sandwich?

message 1332: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Root beer, the soda. Probably a club sandwich.

Letters or emails?

message 1333: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Letters were a lot of fun back in the 90s, for me. They're practically extinct now, I suppose.

The same: Letters or emails?

message 1334: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Both. I have accepted the reality of e-writing, do it all the time. But I miss taking pen to paper.

Reading paper or e books?

message 1335: by Stephanie (last edited Dec 27, 2012 08:56AM) (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments I prefer holding an actually book in my hands, so reading paper.

Short stories or poems?

message 1336: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Excellent question! I honestly don't have an answer to that! Both when they are good, and neither when they aren't. But if push came to shove, deserted island scenario, then... maybe short stories.

Novels or short stories?

message 1337: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments I'm not the biggest fan of short stories. I mean, I'll read them but I prefer to read novels. I just enjoy them more.

Ham or turkey?

message 1338: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments Depends. Is the novel well-written, or does it have a wimpy female protagonist that needs to be saved by her vampire boyfriend every other paragraph? Most times, I'll take the novel, though.

Fantasy or sci-fi?

message 1339: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments Stephanie wrote: "I'm not the biggest fan of short stories. I mean, I'll read them but I prefer to read novels. I just enjoy them more.

Ham or turkey?"

SORRY, I MISSED This One!!! Turkey. XD

message 1340: by Guy (last edited Dec 27, 2012 09:34AM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Rose wrote: "... Just bought it, Guy. With your recommendation I have no doubt I'll love it.."

Now I am nervous! How can any book live up to another's praise? I am, with some anxiety, looking forward to your reaction.

Kyra, I've enjoyed both, equally. So both, for me. Now that I've become decrepit, I haven't read much of either. However I recently revisted the Fritz Leiber Fahfred and the Gray Mouser franchise, as a stroll down childhood. And it was fun read.

Magical realism or fantasy?

message 1341: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Hmmm, they're both pretty good. But I think I read more fantasy.

Doctors or nurses?

message 1342: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Oranges.

Chocolate or milk?

message 1343: by Rose (last edited Dec 27, 2012 09:57AM) (new)

Rose Boehm (rosemaryboehm) Guy wrote: "Rose wrote: "However I recently revisted the Fritz Leiber Fahfred and the Gray Mouser franchise, as a stroll down childhood. And it was fun read"

Still got one. That's an idea, I haven't re-read that one for years!

meat eater or vegetarian?

message 1344: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Eat the Meat! and the chocolate

The Hobbit or the Two Towers?

message 1345: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments The Hobbit. It’s my favorite of what I’ve read by Tolkien.

LOTR: the movies or the books?

message 1346: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Hmmm, that's a hard one. I'm going to say the books though because they have everything in them.

M&Ms or skittles?

message 1347: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments M&M’s. Two M’s are better than one!

Cake or pie?

message 1348: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Cake. Although the blueberry pear pie we're making today might get me to reconsider.

Pie a la mode or with whipped cream?

message 1349: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Whipped Cream

9mm or .45?

message 1350: by M (last edited Dec 27, 2012 04:30PM) (new)

M | 11617 comments That’s easy. According to an elderly friend of mine, who wore out three barrels of a .45 automatic in WWII, you can shoot a man in the heart with a 9mm, and he’ll still live long enough to walk up and split your skull. If you shoot him with a .45, he’ll be down for the count.

Which looks better in the sights of a rifle: a deer or a chihuahua?
