message 951: by Amrie (new)

Amrie (sleeplessin) | 35 comments tired. maybe because I spend more of time being bored than tired. oh,well.

Shakespeare or Dickens?

message 952: by Amrie (new)

Amrie (sleeplessin) | 35 comments dreadful pop-country. *laughs* is indie country music part of that?

message 953: by M (last edited May 27, 2012 03:06PM) (new)

M | 11617 comments Celtic or bluegrass?

message 954: by Cheyenne (new)

Cheyenne | 815 comments Oh no Amrie! *takes a moment of silence for her disappointment*

I haven't heard any bluegrass, but I have heard some celtic and I like it, so I'll go with that one.

Goodreads or facebook? *thinks the choice is obvious ;)*

message 955: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Cheyenne wrote: "I'll say tired and Tim McGraw. (I'm sure I've heard some Miranda Lambert, but no songs come to mind.)

This is the first thing that comes to my mind:

"I'm gonna go home, gonna load my shotgun
Wait by the door and light a cigarette.
He wants a fight, well now he's got one.
He ain't see me crazy yet.
Slap my face and shook me like a rag doll;
Don't that sound like a real man?
Well I'm going to show him what a little girl's made of:
Gunpowder and lead.
"

Tim McGraw is awesome, by the way.

And, yes, Goodreads.

Comedy Central or Cracked.com?

message 956: by Cheyenne (new)

Cheyenne | 815 comments I LOVE THAT SONG!!!! *cough* Anyways....

Comedy Central. (never heard of cracked.com)

Hmmmmm.......... country or city?

message 957: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Well, here's a rather decent video by them, if you care to watch. (Warning: Very adult themes. Suggest headphones, minimally.) http://www.cracked.com/video_18130_th...

Either, but ideally the country.

Glass or ceramic?

message 958: by Cheyenne (new)

Cheyenne | 815 comments Glass

I'll take a look at it in the morning. Is it a music video?

small cafe or fancy restaurant?

message 959: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Small cafe, easy.

No, it's a video detailing five terrifying videos aimed at children. The humor isn't so much in the subject as in the execution. He consults the "Comedy Code" a couple of times.

"Avatar: The Last Airbender" or "X Men: Evolution."

message 960: by Cheyenne (new)

Cheyenne | 815 comments THAT'S NOT FAIR EDWARD!!!!!!!!!

You can't expect me to pick between those :(

message 961: by Cheyenne (new)

Cheyenne | 815 comments Why thank you Al for saving me from that dreadful decision :p

Regular fries or sweet potato fries?

message 969: by Cheyenne (new)

Cheyenne | 815 comments Sweet potato fries are delicious.

Jeans

Tank top or T-shirt?

message 970: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (purplebookdragon) | 73 comments scoop

sneakers or flipflops?

message 971: by Charyx (new)

Charyx Lee-Harvey (charyxishungry) With paperback, it sort of melts into your hands, and if you take care of it enough, then it'll stay together. So, paperback.

Ocean or Pool?

message 972: by M (last edited May 29, 2012 02:01AM) (new)

M | 11617 comments It doesn’t matter to me. In my world, there are two kinds of books: the ones I want to read, and the ones I don’t.

Do you tend to be interested more in the plot or in the characters?

message 973: by Charyx (new)

Charyx Lee-Harvey (charyxishungry) That's an incredibly good point. ^^ Still, paperbacks are cheaper and more comfortable to read in bed, so...

As for your question, that's easy. The characters create the plot. So, the characters. Although I'm a sucker for a well-planned plot too. However, I'd have to go with the characters.

Short and simple, or long and complex?

message 974: by M (last edited May 29, 2012 02:38AM) (new)

M | 11617 comments Simple plot, complex characters.

Stories that give you the warm fuzzies, or stories that leave you unsettled and wondering?

message 975: by Charyx (new)

Charyx Lee-Harvey (charyxishungry) Ugh. Ergh. Umm. Can I say a mixture of both? I think those are the true masterpieces. The ones that give you both that fuzzy feeling and that sort of feeling like something's off.

Let's see.
Fantasy or Fiction, as in no magic?

message 976: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Plots that rely on magic or the supernatural are usually a turn-off for me.

Romance or horror?

message 977: by Charyx (new)

Charyx Lee-Harvey (charyxishungry) Ehhh. I sort of meant different worlds, as in, world building.

Romance has tended to be a little bit sticky for me lately, but horror always makes me scared (no kidding).. However there are good romances that I can read without scaring me witless. Soo romance.

Daydreaming or learning?

message 978: by Charyx (new)

Charyx Lee-Harvey (charyxishungry) Of course it has to be the snow. But not the mushy type. The soft, fluffy type that doesn't soak you, and you can just put your hand out and catch the flakes, and crunches a little when you walk on it.

Sweet or Salty?

message 979: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Salty.

Short story or novel?

message 980: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (purplebookdragon) | 73 comments hmmm. depends on my mood. normally sweet i guess.

would you rather be hot or cold??

message 981: by Siareen (new)

Siareen hey Zoe :)

cold. anytime.

Twisted fairy tale or historical fiction?

((sorry if I reuse something that has already been done ))

message 982: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments Twisted fairy tale!!!

Fiction or non-fiction?

message 983: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Non-fiction.

A Twinkie for the mind, or a story that makes you question the way you see the world?

message 984: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments LOL, story that makes you question the way you see the world. Hands down.

Autobiography or fictional narrative?

message 985: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Autobiography (however unreliable).

An autobiography that’s smoothly written and entertaining to read or an autobiography that’s authentic?

message 986: by Charyx (new)

Charyx Lee-Harvey (charyxishungry) An autobiography that's smoothly written and not entertaining. Rather than that, one that sucks you in, as well as entertains you.

Narrators who are unreliable or trustworthy opinions (3rd person view or something?)

message 987: by Amrie (new)

Amrie (sleeplessin) | 35 comments Narrators who are unreliable, it a more human approach. Did that make sense? Anyways, the story is more real to me that way.

Hilarious and witty characters that aren't fully developed by the author or mildly interesting main characters?

message 988: by Jocelyn (new)

Jocelyn (joc113) The first one.

Historical fantasy or historical fiction?

message 989: by Siareen (new)

Siareen Historical fantasy, though i'm slowly getting into historical fiction too.

Historical fiction that is accurate but is a bit boring plot-wise, or a historical fiction that has a very interesting plot but is not historically accurate.

message 990: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments The second one!!! History bores me to tears. Except for the interesting little Crusade-style mythology-on-mythology bits.

Learning about a civilization's mythology or about their war status?

message 991: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Their war status. I like strategy to the point where I occasionally find myself facinated with logistics. Calculating how to transfer weapons, food, fuel, et cetera should be boring, but it actually brings the battlefield alive in a new way. Learning the "stats" of different countries is usually more fun, though.

Backgammon or Risk?

message 992: by Siareen (new)

Siareen Risk is more entertaining, but it's a really long game which I usually can't be bothered for, so Backgammon.

swimming pool or the beach/ocean?

message 993: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments Beach/ocean. Hands down. Even if it's freezing cold out.

Be stranded in the Arctic or the Sahara?

message 994: by Siareen (new)

Siareen Hmm, hard one. I like cold more, but I would probably have more of a chance surviving in the Sahara because I know more about deserts than ice and snow.

Hotel or Camping?

message 995: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (purplebookdragon) | 73 comments hotel. when i go camping i'm very excited for the first 5 minutes. then i realize that i'm a target for every bug and creepy crawly thing. and i have really bad luck with those things. especially scorpions.

history or math?

message 996: by Siareen (new)

Siareen History. Not even a question.

Science or Arts?

message 997: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (purplebookdragon) | 73 comments art. duh.

sore throat or stomachache?

message 998: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Sore throat.

Krispy Kreme or Dunkin' Doughnuts?

message 999: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (purplebookdragon) | 73 comments dunkin doughnuts.

message 1000: by Michelle (new)

Michelle | 181 comments England.
