Ouch I feel the slacking!
I'm not doing so hot compared to last year
I am only doing one challenge at a time (besides the A-Z since it started last year). And there are a few books I read because of the challenge, but mostly I am just reading and seeing if any of the books I have read fit into the challenge.
Same Carrie. I could feasibly read enough to complete all of the challenges, but I am not always in the mood to read a book that's on a challenge read, so I end up falling behind.One at a time for now (and the A to Z as well).
That was my problem with picking books for challenges. The library conspires against me or I don't want to read that one. I find I am better if I just check each book I read. For me most of them will fit, and I have to only find 1 or 2.
For some reason, I'll end up reading 3 or 4 books in a row that don't fit on any challenge. No clue why it ends up working like that for me.Although, it does help now that we can use any letter in the title, as well as author names for some of the challenges.

I try and just read and see what fits, but as I get closer to the due dates, or I get closer to just completing the challenge I start looking for things that fit. I go batty when I just have one or two left.

As I read, if something will fit onto the list, I'll use it and remove what I had up there before, just to finish up quicker.
I just haven't had much luck making my instant gratification reads work lately, so I've had to resort to sticking with a lot of original books on my lists.
See I'm to much off a spur of the moment kind of gal. Making reading plans is way to hard for me.
Oh I like making the reading plans, I think it's fun...sticking to the plan is a different story!

Okidoke. :) School's going well. I didn't have too much summer homework at all, I just had some Physics AP assignments and an English AP book. I'm reading the book right now, but I started rereading Jeaniene Frost's books and kinda completely stopped doing the homework one. Here in NY, school's starting again in about 1 and 1/2 weeks (I'm pretty sure the day after Labor Day) so I'm trying to enjoy these last summer days till the fullest before being thrown into Senior year.
Enjoy it Jasmine. I'm back in class, and I just can't find the get go.
*sigh*. Stupid school. It's so weird to think I have school on Tuesday. . .*shivers*. I feel like summer just started.
It really is like summer just started. I had 4 months off of school and I'm still day dreaming about a vacation. I've only been back for a month!
4 months? Wow! We get off mid June and go back early September. We basically get 2 and half months of summer. But then we get off for a week or two here and there during school. I probably will be excited for school for the first week and then start daydreaming about summer by the second, lol.
Well, this is for college. My mom had major heart surgery and then spinal, so I took the time off to take care of her. Then in the last month no one could be out with my grandma, who also had major surgery. so I took my mom out to South Dakota and I took care of both of them.
Oh, I see. Wow, that's so sweet of you! Hope they're doing well now.
they seem to be doing good. Grandma misses the company. My mom misses the all day labor. It's like she's forgotten how to do anything.Doesn't help that I've been doing most of the husband/wife chores since I was about 10.

I hope they appreciate what you do for them. It's nice when someone steps up and takes over when others can't. Some family members would just leave them alone to deal. That makes you a very special person, Shera.
I absolutely agree with Heather! That's amazing that you stepped up to help out so much.
