No Way, I Won't Read That!

I have also read books that contain some of the "real-life" subject matters, like Shiloh Walker's Fragile. Again, if it fits within the story, applies to the attitude and history of the character(s), I'm ok with them as well.
I don't seek out books with any of the above though, unless it's for a challenge, like the one I mentioned causing me to start this thread.

Are you in on that one too?

I don't typically read NF (expand my brain? why? LOL!), but I did find a couple that sound funny by Mary Roach. Right now, I have Bonk: The Curious Coupling of Science and Sex picked, but may change to another one of hers, Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers.
I decided to give the challenge a go since those two + GLBT aren't really ones I usually read and I was able to find something at the library that fits. :)

I can't take the humiliation/extreme submissive aspects of BDSM plus rape (in erotica), that's what I really disliked about The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty. Although due to the repetitiveness of these things, it did get boring after a while, which kind of shocked me - that I could be desensitised so quickly and easily.
Ah, religious fiction. If it's Christian, I can't touch it. My godmother has for years tried to push Christian fiction on me (apparently I'm not religious enough for her), and I've rejected it at every turn. I won't give in now ;-)
I just had to vote for the top-rated review of Bonk -it was hilarious! I've added it and Stiff to my wish-list.

I don't read a lot of NF, so many glorious fiction sittin' here TBR that I don't make the time of NF. I should though, at least a few here and there to try to expand my brain a bit. I am kinda looking forward to STIFF, sounds good.
Yeah, I can read, but don't go looking for anything with humiliation/slaveish type erotica either.
@Jackie, LOL! Those are AWESOME to me! >:) Although usually a good horror movie hits the spot for me better than the book it's based on.

I have NF on my shelves. I usually start reading one then get distracted by a fiction book and I forget about the NF book after that so I have plenty of unread and half read ones on my shelves.

Lemme know if you read a NF book you really like and I'll try to find it. I really should try to read more NF, just can't seem to make myself do it. Maybe after reading STIFF I'll get into more of them. We shall see.

I actually like some NF though. I love Jen Lancaster and Laurie Notaro. Sometimes I get in moods where I read a lot of memoirs. For darker NF, I like Susanna Kaysen or Marya Hornbacher.
As for erotica, I don't mind any orientation, as long as its a good story!

I'll have to check some of those out when(ever) I get into a NF-kinda mood.
Ah, hell, who am I kidding? I have so many others to read that it takes a challenge like Rossy's to get me to read just one. LOL!

Erotica wise, I'm with Gus and Steph, pretty much anything goes (as long as they are consenting adults!)
Best not get me started on organised religion either.............
