Izy | 43 comments Hey I'm Faiza from Manchester, England. I have read all the DH books including CON books.
Can't wait for Styxx book. Sept can't come early enough for me. :)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hi Faiza,

Welcome to the group. :) I think many of us are waiting with bated breath for sure on that one. Please cop a squat and join us. :)

message 753: by Izy (new)

Izy | 43 comments hahaha Thanks and I will. :)

message 754: by Izy (new)

Izy | 43 comments I told some of my friends who have similar book interest to read DH books and now we obsess over them together. :)

message 755: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments That's awesome. I've only ever had a few other peeps in real time enjoy the same books as me. As I got older though many are like "book + reading? = Crazy talk" So now I can only come online and obsess for hours lol.

message 756: by Izy (new)

Izy | 43 comments hahaha. I talk to my brother who's about to turn 15 about them though he gives me that 'your a crazy obsessed lunatic with books' look he still listens to me go on rants about the books I read. But yeah I know what you mean it's hard to find people who have similar tastes in books.

message 757: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Haha, nothing wrong with that. And can always sit on him and get him to listen, lol. Beauty of younger brothers so I'm told. ;)

message 758: by Izy (new)

Izy | 43 comments hahaha I can't really sit on him anymore since he's taller than me now but I can still make him listen by annoying him till he pays attention to what I'm saying. :)

message 759: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I love a good back up plan.

message 760: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hi Laura,

Never been to New Orleans either. The culture does seem rather rich down there. But our resident Lousiana gal, Amaya will give you some additional scoop about the area too. To keep you on the safe side of things down there.

And nope, sorry don't have Ash on audio. Do have him in all his hard cover glory though. Have you looked on audible books? They might have it pretty reasonably over there.

Also in addition to all that. Welcome to the group in general. Pull up a chair and join us. :)

message 761: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments I got the audio version of Acheron from the library (cheap way to enjoy it). So far, i like it. Got another one (Darling's book fromt he League) and the same guy does the reading. Very good and I am amazed at how i have been mispronoucing some of the words/names. LOL handy for driving, yard work, snow removal...

message 762: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Good suggestion Valerie. I've gotten a few audio books from the library as well. Although not for a SK book. I do agree with ya as well on the audio version helping you pronouce names correctly for sure. I just sometimes don't like narrator's voice cutting into what *I* think a character sounds like in my head though. Had the darndest time with that when I was reading the sisters of the otherworld books. Kept hearing the narrator's voice and what SHE made the characters sound like(to which I still have to chuckle about some of them) vs. my own version.

message 763: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments yeah, I am having the same issue a bit. But since i have read all the DH books and most of the other League books, it makes it a bit easier to ignore that. It can be funny as hell sometimes.

message 764: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments That's good. I just had those moments where it was like the narrator was doing one of those versions of a kid's book where they have the cow goes moo, the doggie goes bark, and the bisexual vampire says this, while the snarky cop sounds like that, kind of moments going on when I first tired audio. That is what was the hoot for me. Like really? This is what you think it sounds like to be a vampire or a cop? Not bad interpretations, but still it's like is this really even an adult book any more?, with all the heavy accentuations on the characters' voices.

message 765: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (asanderd) Hello, I am Amanda and have read ever Dream-Hunter except for The Guardian, I have not read Bloodlite for the Hellchasers. As far as Dark-Hunters, the only one I haven't read is My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding, Vook: Dark-Hunter's Insiders Guide. I also haven't read amy B.A.D, Belador,Avalon, Manga,Brotherhood,CON,Graphic Novels, MacAllister, Comics, League, or Sea Wolves.... Though I do plan to. I don't have One favorite, but a select few favorites. Talon's book will always have a special place in my heart as his was my first. I love Rayvn's,Vane's, Wren's, Dev, Fang's, and Jess's books! lol

message 766: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Welcome Amanda,

Good to see you made it around to the intro thread. Plenty of good reading in your future I'm sure once you get to all those other reads. How was the VOOK? I want to buy that one and Dark Bites too. But I never can keep enough funds together to get anything. Too many expenses in my future.

message 767: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (asanderd) I've not read Vook, but I have read the Companion. That was great. Good book to use to go back and remember anything about characters and different supernatural creature. I buy a lot of my books on Amzaon and all on Hardcover. They look so much nicer on a book shelf and they don't break down like paperbacks do! I participate Inbox Dollar and Mypoint click throughs to get Amazon or Visa check cards. Also any book I buy is used. I only order "Like New", or "Very Good" conditioned books, not only cheaper, but they almost always some in awesome condition.

Hi Amanda,
I know how you feel, my first was Bride and Vanes book and it will always have a special place though I moved on and have other favourites now.
What does Vook stand for? What is it?

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Amanda wrote: "I've not read Vook, but I have read the Companion. That was great. Good book to use to go back and remember anything about characters and different supernatural creature. I buy a lot of my books on..."

Oh that is really awesome Amanda. Sounds like you have quite a system. I have the Companion as well.

The VOOK is a ebook collection of some of the short stories SK has done and a few extra stories as well, Manuela. So sorta like Dark Bites but I think has more of her earlier short stories. Like Fear the Darkness and what not in it.

Oha, thanks Dhfan.

message 771: by Shanisse (new)

Shanisse (xxshanibunixx) | 12 comments Hi my name is Shanisse, I love SK's books, Her books were given to me to have a lend of by my aunt, they were also my first venture into this genre and I now love other authors such as Lara Adrian, Christine Feehan etc. I now own her complete series :) She is an amazing author!

message 772: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hi Shanisse,

It's amazing how great books can really help us dive head first in a genre and not come up for air. :) I started out with the Dark series and when it wasn't working for me. A little light searching of a bookstore online some eons ago led me to SK's world and I haven't turned back sense. Please join in the discussions and don't forget to get comfy. :)

No prob Manuela. The VOOK is also mentioned on SK's website. I think there might be some repeat stories between it and Dark Bites when it comes out. But not fully sure. As I know Dark Bites is all the short stories she has done with St. Martin's press and some of the ones in the VOOK were short stories that appeared on her old website as freebies. Either way I want to get both to be sure. And in general to get the new mini stories in both of them as well.

message 773: by Shanisse (new)

Shanisse (xxshanibunixx) | 12 comments Thanks :) My favourite series is the Love at Stakes series because it's light and funny :) and has great back stories.

message 774: by Veronica (new)

Veronica | 2 comments Heyys im Veronica and I fell in love with DH when i read Zareks book

message 775: by Robbie (new)

Robbie Thornton (buttonbrite) | 36 comments HI Veronica!! I see you found us!!! Welcome!

Oh yeah, I'm a huge Zarek fan myself. I fell for him in Talon and Sunshine's book. A little psycho goes a long way with me!

message 776: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Pearce (MelaniePearce) | 17 comments Nicely said and I agree!

message 777: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Welcome to the group Veronica,

I think many of us fell hard and fast for Zarek. He is quite the character for sure. Not quite the man of your dreams but you gotta love him. And I can say for myself, I definitely loved his daring and audacity at times. And the fact that he isn't even opposed to picking on his brother at their age, lol.

message 778: by Robbie (new)

Robbie Thornton (buttonbrite) | 36 comments There's something vulnerable about Zarek that appeals to me. Like he was waiting for someone to tear down all the walls he'd built around his heart. There's something very sweet about him, when I look deeper than the obvious. Oh yes, a most complicated character. Gotta love him.

message 779: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Well said Robbie. I agree with ya. Zarek definitely has many faucets to her personality for sure.

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) Hi people I'm back, I had left because the group had become pretty much dead for a while, but DHfan4life convinced me that I should come back, because it's active again. SO yeah here I AM! :)

message 789: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Haha, thanks for coming back Sammie. I'm trying to keep it as lively as I can around these parts. :) Slowly but surely getting there lol.

message 790: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) that's ok I've been able to get on a few times a week right now so it's all good.

message 791: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Dhfan does a pretty good job, I like it here and I like to chat with a lot of the girls. I know that the SK books are good for a re-read although with time management it is still hard to do so when there are so many new and old unread books out there.

message 792: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ah, thanks Manuela. :)

message 793: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments you are welcome, but really I have been on goodreads almost every day since the beginning of the year, it is quite addictive and some of the new threads are awesome, I get to know a few people here too.

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) Goodreads is very addictive.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hi Angelina,
