Godric was Eric' maker in an earlier Sookie novel. How can he have 2 makers?

Aha!! I knew that couldn't possibly be such a huge mistake. I have read all the books, but it has been awhile.
I thought the same thing! I had to google it and found out the mistake. Although Godric is a much better maker than the other guy!
Alan Ball's True Blood is somehow different from the books. Beside Godric case, there is also Jessica, new invention for TV series. It is true that he created the TV series according to Sookie Stackhouse series, but he also said that something that is good in the books might not be suitable for TV series. He will stick to Eric & Sookie's relationship though....What a relief!
A couple of things. In "Living Dead in Dallas," Eric loaned Sookie out to Dallas to help find a nest mate of Sheriff Stan who had gone missing. While looking for the missing vampire, she met Godfrey (staying with the Fellowship of the Sun) who wanted to meet the sun hoping to redeem himself for his 2,000 years of feeding on children. On True Blood, they made the character Godric Eric's maker. He was not Eric's maker in the book. Secondly, I hate to be a buzz kill here, but there is no guarantee whatsoever that Alan Ball will stick to the Eric/Sookie relationship story from the books. He likes to f*** with Eric fans imho. Ball gave a lot of Eric's good deeds to Bill the past few seasons, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he WILL stick to the story from now on.
Alan Ball said something of sticking to Eric & Sookie's relationship, not to the story itself. AB got lots of complaints from Eric's fans (inc. me) for making Bill a better vamp. He said that season 3 & 4 will be more about Eric. After watching season 1, I try my best not to compare the books to the TV series. I love Eric in the books but Alex also gave me the best Eric...Love both!Yep...keep our fingers crossed....:)
