Ryan | 6 comments This is a book I read when I was in elementary school, the early 90's, so it must have been published in the late 80's or early 90's. It was mostly a picture book, but it had several tales in it. Each had to do with personified animals taking on monster forms: Dracula, mummy, Frankenstein's monster, ghost. And all the tales took place in the same Transylvania-like town and in the castle next to it. I believe the castle's owner was a Dracula-like character--had a cape, fangs, etc.--and was also a cat, and I believe one of his fangs starts aching. I remember that the artwork vaguely reminded me of Heathcliff the cat. The edition I had was a hardcover, and I believe most of the binding was red with a picture of the town and characters in the book. Although it was short, the book itself was larger than most books. To put it on a shelf, the book had to be turned sideways. The only other thing I can remember--and this is stretching my memory--is a cop-like dog who has keys on his belt to a dungeon. I think the stories also related to Halloween night, but I'm not sure how or why exactly.

I've been searching for this for a few years now, so hopefully someone can help me. I apologize if I have any details skewed; it's been almost two decades since I've read/seen it. Thank you for your help!

M— | 379 comments One Spooky Night & Other Scary Stories! I love that book!

Count Dracula enjoyed leaping out at people and scaring them, but when he got a tooth-ache he had to face the one thing he himself feared... the dentist!

The cop-like dog was the night watchmen in a museum, which is a job he liked until a mummy came to life!

There is some more information up on the book's Amazon page.

Ryan | 6 comments WOW! Thank you so much! I really didn't think there was hope, but that's it exactly. Haha, now I have a copy on its way to my house!
