Elie N. Azar (elienazar) | 8 comments They clapped for her
For the way she made them smile
They dressed her the finest dresses and clothing lines
They loved her
For the emotions her melody brought into them
But they didn’t know that
While they clapped
She was dying in front of them
While they dressed her
They covered her so many scars
And while they loved her melody
Her voice ached

This is the last poem in my book "Scribbles of the mind", it is one of my favorite poems. I wrote it after having watched the movie "Dalida".

If you think about it. we tend to be shallow. We fall, admire, and idolize perceptions of strength, people who give us a sense of safe haven, people who put into words the feelings we can't give justice to. We do that forgetting that they are as vulnerable as us, so we only believe what our eyes see. We get afraid of digging deep, only to find out the ugly truth. We idolize them because, just like anesthesia, they make us forget about the things we tried so hard to burry inside of us.

I'd love to know your say about this topic, and please give the post I shared on my blog a go and let me know what you think.

J.R. | 374 comments A gunshot broke the silence of an early Sunday afternoon.
People still on their way home from church stopped, transfixed in their tracks, staring in the direction from which the sound seemed to come. Women already in their kitchens preparing dinner hurried to the nearest window. Other townspeople opened their doors and peered out.

Warren Fahy | 91 comments Folks, I wrote a novel about the tyranny descending on the world and the courage it takes to overcome. My career is probably canceled now and I may never publish with a major publisher again. No publisher would touch this book, so I published it myself. It's priced as low as I am able to price it, but it was worth it. Politics is downstream from culture - that means novels, movies, music, art. I've done my part. Please just retweet this if you can. https://www.warrenfahy.com/magenta

Group member Lee Brickley has a new book out. He writes:

"Hi there

I've been the paranormal investigator on the ground in Cannock Chase for the last ten years, and I've written three books on the unusual paranormal happenings there. People encounter everything from werewolves to pigmen, and even the famous black eyed child, but this new book focuses solely on ghosts.

Released now just in time for halloween, I'd love to hear what you think of it.

P.S. Probably don't read the book at night if you struggle to sleep with the lights on."

Richard Parise | 104 comments BOO!
A spook flies in.
A spook flies out.
He’ll scare you silly,
Unless you shout,
Right back at him,
In a scarier yell,
Now who’s the spook?
No one can tell.
A witch rides in,
Across the room,
Just knock her off,
Of her silly broom.
And if she tries,
To ride again,
Just sweep her into,
The garbage can.
A ghost appears,
In a misty white,
Floats up to you,
You’re all a fright.
Just look straight into,
His ghostly eyes,
Yell a big boo,
And away he flies.
BOO!
