James Oleson is beginning to see everything in perfect duplicate - two identical models of cars which are the same down to scuff marks and license plate, two old philosophy books with the same torn pages and inscription in old ink, and twin mail men. Is he losing his mind, or experiencing the birth of a new alternate reality via binary fission?

from the reviews: "the end was stunning" - "my jaw fell" - "mind-bending" - "brain tease extraordinaire" -

Uvi Poznansky | 53 comments My new novel, The Music of Us, harkens back to WWII and its music. To write it I researched thousands of songs from that era, and chose about a dozen where the lyrics and the feel captured the mood at one point or another in my story. Then, just as I thought I had put the finishing touch on the book, no! A problem! Suddenly I realized--

Twenty-seven-year-old Miranda Burgess hasn’t seen her hometown since she awoke inside a strange house and discovered six dead bodies, including that of her boyfriend. When her father dies, Miranda returns home to Mill Valley to say her goodbyes and look for answers. If Miranda succeeds in digging out the truth about that long-ago night, she may finally be able to stop hiding and build a new life.

Richard Parise | 104 comments FUNNYBONES (Paperback)
144 pages
ISBN-13: 978-1481997270 (CreateSpace-Assigned)
ISBN-10: 1481997270
BISAC: Humor / General

Inside this collection are six comical books by humorist R.J.Parise. The titles include, My Husband's On Facebook!, Thoughts At Three, Five and Seven, Facebook Zombies, Hemingway House, The Rhymes and Ramblings of Cantankerous Creatures and Dietina's Diary.
My Husband's On Facebook! is a satirical account of babyboomer couples venturing into the world of social networking.
In Thoughts at Three, Five and Seven, children express their thoughts about life. From moms to grammas, from daycare to holidays, these cute little philosophers hold nothing back. For older parents and grandparents, it's a journey down memory lane. For younger parents, it's a pleasant reminder of those earlier wonder years.
Facebook Zombies tells the story of life as a Zombie in the era of social networking. Through the posts of Allie and her fellow walking dead, we learn what life,or should I say death, is like in their world. We feel their pain yet envy their freedom.
Hemingway House tracks the residents of a halfway house as they struggle to cope with day to day life.
The Rhymes and Ramblings of Cantankerous Creatures combines a humorous short story with comical rhymes. Heather's pet rat Ruby escapes from the confinement and security of her cage to explore the dangers of life in the wild. She meets various creatures in her new home under the deck. Together Ruby and her new found friends explore the neighborhood. After many frightening experiences, Ruby decides that life in the wild is not for her. She attempts to return home to the safety of her cage.
Dietina's Diary brings both advice and laughter into the world of dieting. As she struggles to keep her weight down, Dietina never loses her sense of humor. Follow along with the trials and tribulations of Dietina inside Dietina's Diary.

C.J. Hatch | 6 comments Hurricane Ron
by C.J. Hatch (Goodreads Author)
4.29 of 5 stars

As an investigative reporter, Ron McKee didn’t expect to be fired for reporting the truth, but truth is inconvenient for the corrupt, local sheriff, and so it becomes for Ron. Still, he takes it all in stride until he finds his wife has run off with their son. After taking his frustrations out on his wife's lover, and following up with a deadly run-in with a group of local hooligans, Ron finds himself on the run and things only get worse with every decision he makes.

Merry Jones rated it 4 of 5 stars
"Once you pick up Hurricane Ron, hold onto your hat... Author CJ Hatch's language is vivid, his voice original, his characters real. You get the sense, as you hang on for dear life to your ebook or paper edition, that the story is authentic... the grit is so real, you want to go scrub it off.

Iain Parke rated it 5 of 5 stars
"A rollicking read, as good and bad cops, military and bikers clash in this all action adventure, while the elemental forces of nature come sweeping in. Great entertainment."

Helena Schrader | 104 comments “You’re just afraid to charge!” Ridefort retorted hotly.

“Don’t try that crap on me, Ridefort. I’m not a frightened dandy like the King you made! Charging light Turkish cavalry is idiocy—and if you do it, you do it alone.” Ibelin let his eyes sweep the Templars around the Master, hoping to find a man like Jacques de Mailly, willing to challenge their Grand Master and support him. But the men with Ridefort today only dropped their eyes and would not look at him.

“God is on our side!” Ridefort barked belligerently, making his own men sit up straighter in their saddles.

“Really? As he was with you at Cresson?” Ibelin shot back.

“Do you doubt Christ is with us?”

“It is blasphemy to confuse your own will with the will of God.”

Richard Parise | 104 comments BOO!

A spook flies in.
A spook flies out.
He’ll scare you silly,
Unless you shout,
Right back at him,
In a scarier yell,
Now who's the spook?
No one can tell.
A witch rides in,
Across the room,
Just knock her off,
Of her silly broom.
And if she tries,
To ride again,
Just sweep her into,
The garbage can.
A ghost appears,
In a misty white,
Floats up to you,
You’re all a fright.
Just look straight into,
His ghostly eyes,
Yell a big boo,
And away he flies.
BOO!

C.J. Hatch | 6 comments “Interesting tattoos, Kevin. This one indicates you were in Iraq, correct?”
“Yes, sir. Marine sniper. Three tours. Two in Afghanistan.”
“Geez, wasn’t one enough?”
“Apparently not. Proud to serve, sir. I just wish we could have done more.”
“I’ve learned, Agent Sanders, most warriors feel the same way after they’ve come back from the battles where men in expensive suits and leather chairs send them. We keep asking and asking you to do the impossible; and even when you succeed, it seems the world doesn’t change all that much. Don’t let that diminish your sacrifice and that of your family waiting at home. Your country is proud of you.”

The Game by Angie West
The Game

Blurb
Do you want to play a game?

Lei Guthrie and her best friend, Iris, have a tradition. Every Friday night after work they play a game, preferably vintage, the weirder the better. So when Lei finds a romance novel trivia game rumored to be cursed, she couldn’t be happier. Until she and Iris become trapped in the game. The rules are simple. Make it through three romance novel scenes gone horribly wrong and retrieve a silver key from each. Oh yeah, and stay alive.

By Gregy Alexander

Excerpts

Everything seems to be going exceptionally well. However, the Mackintoshes were never alone in their field trips sailing the waves of the blue sea. They often had a special guest on board, Jenny. It was Tim’s idea that she came along for the ride and Laurie agreed. Since she was a family friend, there was nothing that concerned her about his request. Tim also brought along his closest friend Dexter for the eight-day summer adventure. Laurie was too busy conversing with Dexter that she didn’t notice her friend’s sluttish behavior. Tim’s voracious sexual needs and Jenny’s irresistible charm awakened in Tim his latent lustful desires. © #Sex #Lies #Suspense

C.J. Hatch | 6 comments After a few short months I recently ended my publishing deal with Second Wind Publishing/Indigo Sea Press for my top-selling crime/thriller Hurricane Ron. I wish the ISP crew the best in moving forward.

This is not the end of the line however. I am currently in talks with agents and publishers to find a new home for HR and the rest of the trilogy. So many have been very supportive of my first novel, and I feel I owe it to the readers to represent this story in the best possible light. I am now working with agents and publisher who can provide a quality product of which I can be proud. Keep your eyes and ears open for updates, and if you know of an agent or publisher who would like to work with me, please let me know.
