Ruby Emam (goodreadscomruby_emam) | 93 comments Today, we celebrate Samad Beh-Rang's birthday. I have translated two of his works into English:

The Little Black Fish
24 Hours Between Dream & Reality

Here is a song to honor his life:
https://youtu.be/KuXjnvsrgP4

"Should the enemy declare with triumph Samad is Dead!
I will put my hand on my chest and say
Samad lives here, in my heart,
His death couldn't separate him from his people.
The speaker shall die but the message is immortal.
People will rise and eradicate injustice."

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 284 comments At long last the proper versions of all three of my Epic Fable Time Travel books (and eBooks) are up on Amazon.

I’m pleased, as I had a hard time getting the old ones taken off, something I foolishly thought would be a perfunctory thing to accomplish.

Given the eBooks had been an easy switch on Smashwords I was very frustrated with Amazon who, being preeminent in the field, should be more receptive in this regard.

The three books, two Novels and a collection of Short Stories, are not sequels, each being independent with no background needed, and so they can be read in any order, but they do all relate and explain the overall context.

So, the order in which you read determines how the hidden insights arrive and, better yet, the newest book can even be read backwards.

Here’s the link, thanks:

George Bernstein (suspenseguy) | 97 comments My novel, DEATH'S ANGEL (The 1st of my Detective Al Warner Series) has received only 5-Star reviews. The 2nd in the series should be published by small indie publisher, GnD P{ublishing LLC, later this summer. One reviewer has likened Warer to Alex Cross, which is pretty good company. Here's the latest review, from T's Blog.

We know who is doing it, but why is Angie Dedios having sex with these beautiful women and then killing them? This one question will plague readers as they become submerged in George A. Bernstein’s suspense read, “Death’s Angel.” A novel that will have you craving to uncover the mystery as well as wondering if this is a mystical read, or perhaps this Angie character is a complete lunatic? On the other hand, the question all readers are really dying to know, “Is this book worth their time?”

As an overworked detective, Al Warner, who is being haunted by the demons from his previous case, attempts to catch the town’s newest serial killer. Readers will become just as frustrated as the detective is as he along with his colleagues attempt to catch the murder. However, the most frustrating issues surrounding this entire case as well as this book, might just be how dismissive the police are when they continually overlooked one essential link. Then there are the women who refused to listen to their gut instincts. And lastly, Bernestin gives the reader so much insight that they will find themselves yelling at the characters as they read.

Suspense lovers will eat away at this book and beg for more. And at the end, they will learn that what they thought was predictable turns out to be so much more. With the countless twist and turns Bernstein keeps readers on their toes as they attempt to uncover, who is killing these women? Talk about a book that pulls at your emotions. Better yet, tell the world that Bernstein has the next must read.

Glenda Reynolds (glendareynolds) If there is anyone out there reading this who loves short stories in the sci-fi / fantasy / adventure genre, please go to http://www.inkitt.com/stories/15863 and read my short story Escape From Orbital Oasis. And then please rate my story. Thank you!

Back story:
"The year is 2235. It has been 150 years since the global nuclear war that nearly wiped out humanity. Parts of the earth are still uninhabited. Tangled steel structures that were once mega office buildings still litter large cities of the planet along with thousands of abandoned cars that used to run on fossil fuel. The survivors of planet earth came together to form themselves one government. Religious structures, religious gatherings, and any kind of religious displays or symbolisms are prohibited. Worship is done only in each man’s home. Jihad does not exist nor is there condemnation preached from behind pulpits. The government, known as World Net, actively promotes positive wellness through all media outlets."

All you have do is join the site through facebook. It's available as an app on mobile devices and works very similarly to Kindle. It is both a social site for readers and writers, as well as a library.

Margaret Attwood and other notable authors are there. I'm excited to be featured among them.

Larry Moniz (larrymoniz) | 71 comments Who is the supreme deity? Earliest archeological finds, 20,000 to 40,000 years before the present show various societies worshipped fertility goddesses.

More than 6,000 years ago the Hindu religion was founded in India. Other organized religions followed, including Judaism, Christianity and the Muslim faiths. But despite the claims of all, is any the “true” religion?

Without contemporaneous written records dating back to their origins, there’s no way of telling truth from mythology. My short story, “The Cosmos” is a fiction story that presents yet another alternative to the dogma advanced by the big business that is organized religion today. It’s not meant to change anyone’s opinion about their faith or that of others. It’s sole purpose is to entertain and, if I’m fortunate, to make readers ponder our origins and universe. It’s now available on Amazon as an EBook.

In additional to numerous interviews and blog visits, I’m also inviting my large, fan-based platform to put out the word. Though Amazon stats claim to be real-time there is actually a several hour lag between paid sales and bestseller ranking. According to paid sales at this moment, I should be getting close to the top 1,000 in the entire Amazon library of more than eleven million books with another 36 hours of heavy promotion to go. I’ll post ranking as I (hopefully) near #1.

When a young girl is found murdered in a Pennsylvania rye field in 1897, Ned Gebhardt, a feeble-minded youth known to have stalked the victim, is a prime suspect. Incidents involving another girl and gossip stir emotions to a frenzy, nearly leading to a lynching.

Evidence against Ned is circumstantial and there are other suspects. Influenced by Ned’s stepsister and Ellen, a woman who has perked his interest, Simon Roth, the investigator, is inclined to give Ned the benefit of doubt. Then he discovers damaging new evidence.

Something So Divine is available from the publisher http://www.sunburypressstore.com, from Amazon, B&N and other major booksellers.

Neil Ostroff (httpgoodreadscomneil_ostroff) | 271 comments Never give up the dream!

It was very exciting last week when my contemporary suspense novel, DROP OUT hit #5 on the paid Amazon best seller list. I was thrilled to have Nicholas Sparks as my #4 competitor. How I got to this list is no secret. I booked promotional spots on high-traffic websites and spent the days leading up to the spots marketing and promoting my a*s off. I stayed at that #5 position for an entire 36 hours before slowly slipping back into the 100’s; about where I am now.

Did I ever in my dreams imagine that as an independent writer I would ever achieve such heights… honestly, never. My point is, that every writer has an equal chance of hitting the list. Sure, you have to write a great book, have a great cover, and an even greater blurb, but it is possible. I am living proof.

I’ve chronicle the last five years of my journey as an independent writer on my blog, ALWAYS WRITING. There have been many dizzying highs and terrifying lows along my journey to get my books read, but with perseverance and a never-give-up attitude, I feel as if I’ve finally “made it” and all the lonesome hours writing and all the sacrifices have now been worth the struggle. There is no greater feeling then having dozens of friends and fans messaging me their congratulations at hitting the top 5. It is a high better than any ingestibale substance on Earth.

If you’re a writer and can’t understand why no one is buying your book it may not be that the book is not good, it may be you just don’t know how to market and promote the story. My advice is to check out the Alexa ranking of any site you’re interested in advertising on before you invest your cold, hard cash. Join Facebook groups, join online writer’s and reader’s clubs, post discussions, anything to get your name out there and get your book noticed.

Getting your book on the best seller list can happen but it won’t happen without effort. I hated the hours upon hours of promoting along with most writers, but as with any art form it is necessary to achieve recognition. Check out my blog for the list of sites that helped me achieve #5 in the country. And never give up the dream!!

To learn more about me, my books, and my writer’s journey please check out my blog: ALWAYS WRITING. Thank you.

George Bernstein (suspenseguy) | 97 comments My first 3 novels have all garnered mostly 5-Star & 4-Star reviews. I've now finished my 4th novel, BORN TO DIE, the 2nd of my Detective Al Warner series. I've entered this novel with a new Amazon endeavor: Kindle Scout. This is new a E-Publishing company. Amazon will promote all its approved entries on individual "campaigns," where readers can see it, read excerpts, and, IMPORTANTLY, nominate it for publishing. Highly nominated novels can get published by Amazon on line, and get serious publicity. You can see my campaign at this link:

https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/2P31...

starting on Sept 10 and lasting for 30 days. The key is to get lots of nominations. There is no cost to you, and in fact, if BORN TO DIE is published by Amazon, I believe everyone who nominated it will get a free Kindle version of the complete novel, about a $5 value. FYI, you can download the Kindle App FREE to ANY tablet or computer. You don't need a Kindle reader.

So PLEASE, click on the link (above), take a quick peek... or stop to read the entire preview... and then NOMINATE THE BOOK. This may be my best chance to get the broader recognition for my work that readers seem to feel I deserve.
