Poetry in Motion - Halloween Issue
Review
"Reminiscent of our most beloved childhood nursery rhymes, this collection of poetry brought a smile to my face. Modern poetry often belittles the skill of crafting memorable rhymes. It's nice to see that this style hasn't been forgotten entirely." - Goodreads- Josèphe-Anne's review

George Bernstein (suspenseguy) | 97 comments My 3rd novel, DEATH'S ANGEL, willdebut on Kindle on Nov. 13. It's the first of what will be my "Detective Al Warner" series. Al Warner is Miami's top homicide detective, and his character is in teh vein of Patterson's Alex Cross. The novel will be available in Kindle and print. Here's the "hook:"

The second serial killer in less than a year is prowling the streets of Miami, systematically killing off some of South Florida's most beautiful young women. Detective Al Warner is just back on The Job, fully recovered from a bullet wound that cracked his skull during a deadly chance encounter with another madman.

Warner is in the best shape of his life, but his days are laced with headaches and his sleep fraught with terrifying dreams. Lack of rest clouds his usually laser-sharp mind but doesn’t slow his single-minded hunt for this new killer.

Warner and the FBI’s BAU become more frustrated as each new death provides plenty of evidence it’s the same Unsub, but no new clues to his identity. They learn the killers name, Angie Dedios, and eventually realizes it’s really “Angel de Dios”… the Angel of God... but they are helpless as more beauties dies with no new leads as to this deadly “angel’s” real identity. Then Warner’s love, Sharon Clark, becomes a target for this mad man, and Warner must stop him before she is his 8th victim. Only chance again brings them all together in one final deadly dance of terror.

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 284 comments Whoops, I gust realized I never posted this Press Release for my new compilation of Epic Fables, published a few months back.

Just for the record, you know:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW TIME TRAVEL BOOK CAN BE READ BACKWARDS

The newest book by Science Fiction author HOWARD LORING, a collection of twelve short stories entitled TALES OF THE ELASTIC LIMIT, can be read in three ways, a fitting thing given each chapter deals with Time Travel.

Every stand-alone tale in the book chronicles significant human events that became intellectual, historical and social paradigm shifts and all can be read in any order, but taken together and read in sequence, the combined short stories are a continuous and compelling History of Time itself.

However, as Time is linear, TALES OF THE ELASTIC LIMIT can also be read backwards, thus demonstrating the fact, for it’s the same story from either direction and reading in sequence tells the adventure while reading from the last chapter and working forward demonstrates how the historic events came to be.

HOWARD LORING’S books are presented in an Epic Fable form of simply written narratives that together convey a larger overall meaning germane to the universal, human condition, and all deal with the ELASTIC LIMIT OF TIME, a technical term used in the books and within each title, yet the phrase is also a metaphor for the individual, human imagination.

His first two works are novels and all three are available online in book or eBook, published by PreCognitionPress.

Given Time is ephemeral, none of HOWARD LORING’S books are sequels but they do relate and explain each other.

For further information Google Howard Loring or contact hloring@precognitionpress.com or www.facebook.com/HowardLoring

HOWARD LORING is a pen name.

How to begin new?
A mission with passion and enthusiasm quickly turned into disappointment at the end….
....the fear, the hope to begin something new, the passion and a mission with willing to help but on the other side the windmill fight against the bureaucracy. It is an eye-opening story that shows the many flaws in the health care system and a man who has been left alone by the “supporting” company.

A true story based book.

Gary Clark | 2 comments Greetings All,

I just launched my new Mystery / Thriller "Dead Balance" on the new KindleScout platform. Development interest in Hollywood already, with 3 film producers requesting a full read. I'll describe the book and then some background on Kindle Scout for Authors, your comments appreciated!

Book Description
The mountain resort of Deadraven hides a dark secret until a disabled veteran in a remote cabin receives an eerie message describing a grisly killing—before it happens. Baffled, the local Sheriff enlists the help of Logan, a troubled Indian boy with a scary talent for locating dead bodies, but when Logan’s vision quest to track the killer goes awry, the hunter becomes the hunted. As murder and ancient myths collide, Logan and the Sheriff race to stop a ruthless killer before another body drops.

Dead Balance

https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/3K0S...

What is the inspiration for the story?
For centuries, frontiersmen and Indians have told dark tales of evil spirits that haunt the mountains of Colorado. As I researched ancient legends and interviewed witnesses to modern day mysteries, I unraveled a startling common thread buried within in each disturbing story—and that got me wondering… what if?

Is there a message in your book that you want readers to grasp?
Abandoned and incarcerated as a boy, Logan is troubled by his past. To seek his destiny, he must face many demons—both real and imaginary. As the Hopi say, ‘Inside every spirit is a fight between two bears. One evil; one good. Which bear will win?’ For Logan, and for each of us, ‘The bear we feed.’

Where can readers find out more about me?
For more about my books, music, poems and videos, visit my website at http://www.garywayneclark.com. Stream the Dead Balance trailer; go behind the scenes with alternative story lines, character backgrounds, preview upcoming books and subscribe to my blog feed for what’s on my mind.

For Authors
So far, I have found this path easy to deal with. They reviewed and accepted my book in 2 business days, launched in 7 days, as advertised. Now I'm in the "30 day Nomination period", to see if readers are interested and whether Amazon executes their option to publish and promote. BTW, they only want eBook and Audio book rights, so you keep the Print and Film development rights. If they don't, I'll go with KDP and Create Space for the Print version, the Film rights I'm already negotiating. I'll keep you posted on my experience.

Here's the Amazon pitch:
"Kindle Scout is reader-powered publishing for new, never-before-published books. It’s a place where readers help decide if a book gets published."

Thanks,
Gary Wayne Clark

It's called The Reason for the Season, and is a follow up to my suspense/mystery Tree Huggers. Kate has forsaken the world of print journalism for Mommy Blogging, posting about the trials and tribulations of dealing with the trials and tribulations of trying to blend her new family with the old.

With Christmas on the way, she joins in the annual Christmas Cantata put on by her church and the local gay/lesbian church. After rehearsal she witnesses a brutal hate crime where two gay men are severely beaten.

Was it a random act of violence? Or something more personal?

The story flows, is well structured and easy to read. There are patches of dark humor, the book is brilliantly written and the story kept me guessing to the end. Pencil, one of the bad guys, establishes himself right from the beginning as a bad guy, when he kills a… Sorry, can’t give away too much. Lee Mandel | -11 comments I'm pleased to announce the release of my newest book "Unlikely Warrior: A Pacifist Rabbi's Journey From the Pulpit to Iwo Jima." Published by Pelican Publishing Company, it's a biography of the early years of Rabbi Roland Gittelsohn. Gittelsohn, an outspoken pacifist in the years leading up to World War II, had a crisis of conscience when the US entered the war and volunteered for service in the United States Navy. He became the first Jewish chaplain ever assigned to the United States Marine Corps and ended up in the midst of the Corps bloodiest battle in its distinguished history- Iwo Jima. Drawn largely from his personal papers and other authoritative sources, it is the story of a man who was truly representative of that incredible group of people we refer to as The Greatest Generation.
