Evelyn Amaro (paromantasy) | 11 comments I love True Blood. Help me win the battle that I'm having with my friend. She has posted a poll to show that twilight is better than TB, and I have done the same for True Blood. Winner has to buy the other the series DVD/Movie set. Thanks for your help!

Take the poll on www.paromantasy.com Let's go True Blood!!

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) Frankly, I don't see how choosing one over the other solves anything because I don't have any preference.

Colette | 15 comments It's not even a contest! Twilight was fun to read but the movies are bad. And True Blood is for adults, not teens so it's not a fair fight.

message 4: by Heather (new)

Heather Book Savvy Babe (booksavvybabe) | 41 comments Ok, Twilight is pretty awesome, but Colette was right, the movies pretty much stink. The characters/actors are super cheesy and full of teen angst......True Blood is not cheesy AT ALL! True Blood is hot, and sorry, but the series totally beats the twilight movies (I am still so going to see the movie though....)

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) Why would you want to see the movies if they stink?

message 6: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I agree that it's not a fair or even contest. Sookie is for adults all the way, and Twilight is very purposely aimed at teens/YA. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Both have vamps and supes, both are fruits. That's about it for similarities.

I guess I should clarify-- in twilight, the acting is pretty bad- specially in the first movie. In the second movie it gets a little better, but the actors still have some cheesy moments. I love the books, and the characters make sense, but in the movies--it doesn't always translate well. Since I love the twilight story so much, I like seeing the movies, I just get kinda dissapointed in the translation to film sometimes- they are putting more money and effort into the movies now, so i'm hoping eclipse is good

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) why compare? I stopped comparing books to their movie counterparts and I am much happier that way.

Martine | 1 comments You got my vote Tru blood is far better than Twilight!

message 11: by Colette (new)

Colette | 15 comments I agree with Heather that I will still see the Twilight movies. Although you couldn't pay me to watch the first one again it was so bad. But just out of curiosity I need to see them. Especially Eclipse because it was my favorite book.

Steph (angel4492) I voted -- for True Blood HANDS DOWN!

I really liked the Twilight books and was excited about the movies. Until I saw the first one. Then, I saw the second was being directed by someone different from the first, so I thought, ok, I'll give it another go. Nah. I'm passing on the rest of the movies. #1 reason: Kristen Stewart can NOT act! She seems like she holds her breath then delivers her line(s). It drives me mad. So far the only parts in the movies I liked were Alice and the bit with the Italy clan. Well and I thought they did a decent job with the weres. Jacob (whatever that actors name is) buffed up nicely for the 2nd movie.

I love the Sookie books, but True Blood is serious eye candy I will not pass up. Oh be still my beating heart ... Alexander Johan Hjalmar Skarsgård! Only 3 more days!

message 13: by Cary (new)

Cary (vortigern) True Blood is the best. Sookie Stackhouse is the only series vampire book worth reading. :)

message 14: by Evelyn (new)

Evelyn Amaro (paromantasy) | 11 comments True Blood is winning, but my friend is starting her Twilight campaign. I need my True Blooders to vote. I like Twilight, but they are so going down on this one..lol

message 15: by Cary (new)

Cary (vortigern) How do you vote. TrueBlood is adult. It has bad language, drugs, sex, murder, adultry and is just plain evil. I was watching last years episodes last night. This guy was in jail for sodomoizing a pine tree, LOL. Mariane has serious bad reefer and my man Lafayette (Nelson Ellis) was in drag poping pills. Twilight is for children.

Evelyn Amaro (paromantasy) | 11 comments You vote on www.paromantasy.com there is a poll on the site. haha..i remember that part about the tree - that was a little crazy. Us True blooders are a little sick - aren't we?..lol. I love both, but True Blood is my fave. Check out the debate on that website. I can't wait for Sunday (and I am still excited about Eclpise, it's just second place in my heart :-)

Yay! Go True Blood! I like Twilight, but I love True Blood and the books are pretty awesome too. Did you read Dead in the Family yet? I liked it, but not as much as the rest.
Alexander Skarsgard is yummy! I love him!! Did you see that he went to the TB premiere party with Kate Bosworth - lucky girl!!

message 18: by Cary (new)

Cary (vortigern) Carmilla & Dracula are second place in my heart. I'm old school. But TrueBlood/Sookie is just to crazy fun to not love. :)

I've never heard of Carmilla. I have to check it out! Dracula is a classic. How could I forget about that one?!

Sookie is nuts. Throw in Eric and all his sex appeal and I was hooked :-)

I did, Evelyn. I liked it, wasn't my favorite, but the theme throughout fit after the war in the previous book, I thought. I'd have to say that I've been more in love with the show over the books lately. But, it all started (for me) with the books, so I'll be stickin' with them.

I didn't see that - Lucky Kate!

Yes, I'll be sticking to both the books and the series. I hope the latest book was just a setup for the craziness that is bound to come.

Update: True Blood is kicking ass on the poll. Go True Blood!!

Evelyn Amaro (paromantasy) | 11 comments Update: True Blood Kicked ass! We won and my friend owes me big..lol..Go True Blooders!! I posted a recap with some pictures from the episode on the website (my fave being Eric in the nude!) I also put up a new poll asking: What did you think of episode 1. I personally loved the episode, Eric's basement scene was classic!

message 24: by Steph (new)

Steph (angel4492) Oh yeah! >:) After six hours with Eric at full speed how did that chick even walk?!

message 25: by Evelyn (new)

Evelyn Amaro (paromantasy) | 11 comments Steph wrote: "Oh yeah! >:) After six hours with Eric at full speed how did that chick even walk?!"

I know. In the next scene she was dancing as if Eric didn't just give her a full body workout! Wow! I have to say that I would be the workout queen if that was my daily exercise..haha

message 26: by Leslie (last edited Jun 22, 2010 10:36AM) (new)

Leslie | 73 comments I'm a fan of both but I think that the books are better then the movie. I've seen all the movies so far and I will see the rest. The only problem with the twilight saga I find is that those kids are everywhere! So it's like one movie ends and they are already talking about the next one. It's like oversaturation but I'm sure the super fans would disagree :)
