Stefanie (trippie) | 22 comments Time to begin another list! I'm going to stray from the six-book form for this one. I want to have these books finished by the end of 2010.

1. On Language - William Safire
2. Beloved - Toni Morrison
3. Song of Solomon - Toni Morrison
4. Sula - Toni Morrison
5. Jazz - Toni Morrison
6. Love- Toni Morrison
7. Paradise - Toni Morrison
8.Don Quixote - Cervantes
9. All the President's Men - Carl Bernstein
10. The Grapes of Wrath - Steinbeck
11. A Clockwork Orange - Anthony Burgess
12. Ulysses - James Joyce

I know this is a ridiculously ambitious list. I actually concocted a reading list for 2010 sometime in December 2009, and it contained all of these books, plus the books from my TBR #1. I was inebriated at the time of this list's construction, I admit, but a ridiculous streak of stubbornness is holding me to completing this challenge. A reassuring note to end this on is that I am a teacher. After June 18th, I have a nice, long summer vacation in which I can get started!

Same rules as before; I'll post any extracurricular reading I do, as well. Here goes nothing!

Stefanie (trippie) | 22 comments Thanks! I loved The Bluest Eye when I read it, so I'm looking forward to the others. My husband took a class in college entirely on her works, so he's the influence there. :)

Ryan Viergutz (Jesterjoker) | 3 comments Epic pile. :D

Curious that you would be giving a whirl to Don Quixote, I have it from Gutenberg for maybe reading it in Spanish on occasion. Gutenberg is overwhelming. The stack never ends.

Beloved! I am intrigued to see your comments on her other books, because I've only read that one. :)

Stefanie (trippie) | 22 comments Finished Beloved this morning. Whew.

Still working on the Safire book, and I started A Clockwork Orange this morning, as well.

Stefanie (trippie) | 22 comments Finished A Clockwork Orange yesterday. Now I'll have to see the movie.

Stefanie (trippie) | 22 comments Finished On Language, by William Safire.

Progress on the list has been slow. I've been reading Ulysses. I don't think it requires further explanation.
