SOLVED. Children's Book: How To Get Rich in Just Three Days? [s]

I'm trying to find the title of a book I read when I was younger.

It was called something like How To Get Rich in Just Three Days but it doesn't seem to be that.

The main character (an elementary school boy) found a book called the same thing as the title, written by a Dr. somebody (I think with a weird name). He starts to read it and it says that he has to follow all the directions exactly. And he ends up doing things like not talking for a day, wearing a pickle on a string like a necklace, and other weird things.

Any time he makes comments to the book, the doctor always seems to know what the kid is thinking and has an appropiate (if snarky) comment back as the next sentence.

Thanks so much! I was thinking of two books and combining them, apparently. This one and the earlier book she wrote Be a Perfect Person in Just Three Days.

I can't wait to re-read them. :)
