yeah, i was going to mention how the HP thing defnitely qualifies...

Jackie "the Librarian" But I don't care. I revel in my uncoolness! I have a "Muggles for Harry Potter" pin.

Sarah (songgirl7) I think I'm gonna put one of the audio books on while I clean the house.

Yes, that's right, I have the books, the audio books, and the films. And the video games. And the Christmas tree ornaments. It's a sickness, really.

message 54: by [deleted user] (new)

Mich, I'm a X-men girl too, and my crush would so be Wolverine. I always play him when my brother and I play doubles on the PS2...that's uncool, right?

Jackie "the Librarian" I have Star Trek Christmas tree ornaments, Sarah. The Shuttle, the Next Gen Enterprise, a Klingon Warbird (which I think is kind of anti-Christmas in sentiment), and I think Spock at his science station. McCoy, too.
I usually don't hang them all up every year. But once people get it into their head you like something, you get lots of it.

message 56: by [deleted user] (new)

Bones was a little annoying, kinda whiney.

I liked Next Gen best.

message 57: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Yeah, Brent's mother sends him Hallmark ornaments every year so he has a ton of Star Trek and Star Wars ornaments. Last year we bought a little tree for him to put in his office with all of the ornaments that I deem unsuitable for the living room. This includes anything that lights up or makes noise.

Jackie "the Librarian" Yeah, but he got to say "I'm a doctor, not a bricklayer!" I can respect that.

I think Next Gen was the better show, but TOS is tops in cheesy fun. "Brain and brain. What is brain?"

message 59: by Lori (new)

Lori I'm crashing this party because I am so very cool.

message 60: by Lori (new)

Lori Oh and I grew up on TOS - those formative years - and still carry all those idealist notions that dammit why can't skip over all this war and join the Federation is it really all that hard?

And I still remember the absolute shock of the country when Kirk kissed Uhuru!

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

Jacks, I LOVE that episode. The one with the little creature trying to save her babies, eating through the walls...Love It!

Sarah, my friend has three trees, one for her Disney ornaments, one for her husbands Train ornaments and then her normal one. The live in a tiny house...I laugh every year! :)

message 62: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony Girls talking about comics and Star Trek = hot.

Jackie "the Librarian" That's a lot of trees! I can barely get one up and decorated anymore.

message 64: by [deleted user] (new)

That didn't take you...AGES, RA! :)

Jackie "the Librarian" Well, we know we're not cool, RA, so we MUST be hot. Ya cannae change the laws of physics, Cap'n!

message 66: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Last night I was at a party and we had this looooong conversation about what makes Superman the best comic book hero ever. It was awesome.

Anthony, get me started on the Justice League characters and you just might faint.

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

Jacks has the best one-liners...I bow to your greatness!

message 68: by Lori (new)

Lori Superman or Batman? I think even as a young girl I was attracted to the darkness within Batman. That's sexy! Plus Superman was born with his powers, Batman is a bit more realistic (heh) in that he's just a man.

message 69: by Lori (new)

Lori Damn, I have to go and I'm feeling utterly FOMS.

message 70: by [deleted user] (new)

LOVE Justice League!!!

(Don't get me started on Aquaman again KD will be in here to kick my cyber bum in no time)

message 71: by Sarah (last edited Jun 30, 2008 02:36PM) (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Ames, can you name all the original members of the JLA without looking it up?

message 72: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) (Hint: there were seven)

message 73: by [deleted user] (new)

Batman...I'm a Batman girl.

message 74: by [deleted user] (new)

Superman, Wonderwoman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Batman, Robin, Flash?

message 75: by [deleted user] (new)

Shot in the dark there, because it was my favorite cartoon as a kid, but I've never read a comic...does that make me too cool to play with you all? Cause, really, there'r LOTS of other un-cool things about me.

Jackie "the Librarian" You're safe with me, Ames. Totally uncool.
I read Richie Rich when I was a kid. Gah.

message 77: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks Jacks! You're very soothing today, you know? Thanks again!!

message 79: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Not Robin. Martian Manhunter. Everyone forgets him!! And a lot of people think Green Arrow was in the JLA originally. He actually was coerced to join by Green Lantern.

message 80: by Jackie "the Librarian" (last edited Jun 30, 2008 04:06PM) (new)

Jackie "the Librarian" I must admit that my knowledge of JLA comes solely from Super Friends on Saturday mornings.

message 81: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony JLA and the superfriends are on late at night on one of the obscure cable channels...I tivo it for my kids. They have an awesome JLA poster up in their room.

message 82: by Azra (new)

Azra (banapis) | 2 comments Hey. I'm Azra. Can my claim to fame be the fact that I once played a kender in a freeform game of the Call of Cthulhu?

"What? This nice beaker of bubbly? I just wanted to keep it safe...that's all...oops...AAAAGHHHHHHHH!"

message 83: by [deleted user] (new)

So I was almost right! Woo Hoo!!! That's damn close, babe!

message 84: by [deleted user] (new)

Azara, you are my new best friend! Kender are my favorite of all the races. My kitty is named Tasslehoff Burrfoot! (Tas for short, obviously.)

WELCOME!

message 85: by Amanda (last edited Jul 01, 2008 11:47AM) (new)

Amanda (randymandy) No, I want Azra to be MY new best friend!!!!!!

My kitty is named Copley after Isabel Copley in Memory and Dream!!!!!!!!

message 86: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) And plus I own my own tea business.

Come on Azra, who's it gonna be???????

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

Kender bond is stronger than ANYTHING, Mands! Well, except being twins...maybe we could share her since we are basically the same person anyway. That way, when she confuses us (which is inevitable) it won't matter either way.

Whaddathink?

message 88: by Charissa (new)

Charissa (dakinigrl) ::::cries because Donald didn't invite her to the party and she had to stumble upon it by accident and wonder why nobody told her about it and now feels like one of those fat girls in gym class that nobody picks for basketball teams, which is basically what she still is even though high school was a million years ago but so what cuz people in starbucks still look at her and KNOW that's what she really is all the way to the bone:::::

message 89: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) I think it's pretty uncool that for five minutes I actually considered buying Anthony Rapp's CD.

message 90: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Anthony Rapp has a CD? Where? How many copies did the store have left? Cool, ok, thanks.

message 91: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) I believe in the Kender bond. Mostly because I have NO CLUE what you're talking about, Amy.

I love sharing! Azra, Amy and I are going to share you!!!!!

Charissa--get out of my head! Memory thief.

message 92: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) It's on iTunes.

message 93: by Charissa (new)

Charissa (dakinigrl) whoa, for a minute I thought you said that Anthony has a Rap CD. I was like... RandomAnthony is a rapper? He's so white and suburban that would be truly uncool.

message 94: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Weirdanthony.

message 95: by Charissa (new)

Charissa (dakinigrl) fucking hated gym class. You know that scene in Carrie in the shower with the tampons? I was like.. wow... I think that was filmed at my school.

Jackie "the Librarian" P.E. was sheer torture. My dad signed me up for gymastics, 'cause girls like that, right? I still can't do a cartwheel to save my life.

Charissa, welcome! I didn't get invited either and had to just barge in. No one's told me to leave, yet...

message 97: by Charissa (new)

Charissa (dakinigrl) I can't do a cartwheel because my ass is way too much bigger than my head, my spine might snap! : )

message 98: by [deleted user] (new)

I've never been able to do a cartwheel...ever.

message 99: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) I used to be able to do a cartwheel and the splits but I hated P.E. because I could never make a basket in basketball or hit a ball in baseball. Or throw. Or run. I can catch okay though.

message 100: by Charissa (new)

Charissa (dakinigrl) I can hit, I can throw... but I can't catch. I'm afraid of the ball. I can still hear the coaches yelling at me. Fucking sadists.
