Can't combine editions - what's wrong?

I just tried it and it combined properly. I'm not sure why it wasn't working for you...ETA: Never mind. I went back and they're not combined now. :P
I went back and added the original title and tried to combine again and it worked!(either that or someone did it properly and didn't say so)

for hours now. Message says they're now combined, but every time I check again they're listed as different books. Can it simply be a matter of the database failing to update on time (so I have to wait a bit for it to go through) or am I doing something wrong?
I'm afraid it's the latter cause I've been able to combine other books properly since then and this one's still wrong. help?
