Clark is in Michigan, Gus is in one of the Carolinas, I think Julie is in N California, but I could be wrong about that.

You're mixing up John Waters with John Hughes, I think, Sally. Hughes did all those teen movies, but I'm not sure about Planes, Train, and Automobiles. I could look on imdb, but I'll refrain. :)
The Librarian is correct. John Hughes did all of the movies mentioned above.
John Waters did Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, Cecil B. DeMented, Hairspray (the original), A Dirty Shame, Pecker, Serial Mom, Polyester, Cry-Baby, and Desperate Living. (That is not IMDB. It's off the top of my head, because I think he's awesome.)

My nearest Wal-mart is about three miles away. And yes...it's about to become a Super Wal-Mart.
There is a WalMart about a half mile from where I work, I don't go there. There are 5 Walgreens Pharmacy's within a five mile area of here, three of them within a square mile of each other. But surprisingly, I haven't seen any of the small locally owned pharmacies go under. I guess there are enough people on pharmaceuticals to keep everyone going.
Nearest Wal-Mart is 3.5 miles. Another is about six miles, with a third approximately nine miles away. I believe all three are "Super." There's also a Wal-Mart distribution center less than ten miles up the road.I don't shop there, but my wife will occasionally go in for some of the mint chocolate chip ice cream she loves.

I am Really glad we have a Target. There is something about that store that I just love. Now they have Dr.Pepper slurpees, which is a good reason that Target is awesome.
Ok, question...is target really that much better than Wal-Mart, as far as labor practices is concerned? I've heard both pros and cons of working for Target.Sometimes I think all these big corporations save a very few (e.g. Costco) suck. But I definitely prefer Target to Wal-Mart.

I live in New York, more specifically on Long Island. Right now I'm at work on GoodReads instead of doing my work. Actually I'm juggling both, rather well I think. Phone Sales/Customer Service....yuk. Nearest Wal-Mart from my home, ten minutes. They are popping up everywhere.
I'll add that Target does employ people with developmental disabilities.
I like Target better too, sure, but I don't buy clothes from them often. But a Costco opened up across from the Target near me so I haven't visited as much.

I thought Kmart merged with Sears? Whether it did or not, I don't shop there, or Wal-Mart.I'd rather spend a little more money for something that's going to last longer, and make me happier. Like my toaster, which may have been stupidly expensive, but makes me happy just to look at, and will never, ever break. :)

:) I like to spend a little more to purchase things of quality rather than have purchase things that don't last. I love my toaster too. I have had it for over 12 years. It still works perfectly. It is a lovely pale green.....

My nearest Wal-Mart is about 20 miles away, but it's a 24-hr Wal-Mart which is good for when you're all juked up on cold medicine in the middle of the night and suddenly need a calculator. Not that that's ever happened to me.
