StMargarets - I'm a bit like you. Only read sheikh books if they are part of a series OR by an author I really like. I've read most presents and desire since I got my Kindle in 2012.

Mou - Anything else to add? Was the heroine a princess?

I did a search through my list of HP titles. This was the only one that came up with cold in reference to the bride.

Elle | 2 comments hi! i'm trying to find this book for a while now... it's been years since i read it and sadly can't find it on my shelf anymore :/ it's most probably a HP or Silhouette, have no idea since it's been so long i last saw it. so the story goes like this:
h works as a waitress in a cafe/bar/restaurant where H is a regular guest. they were a couple or so two years ago when suddenly h's brother? died and she didn't tell it to H straight away, instead she was grieving and pushing him away, not answering the calls... H eventually moved on (with a new girl). Now, two years later, he wants her back but she isn't giving him a chance to break her heart again. i also remember a scene in that bar/restaurant she is working in, when she is the only one who approach him after a beer too much when H is becoming a little too loud and looking for troubles... as much as i remember h's boss also have a thing for her...
anybody knows the book title maybeee?

Which country was this set in? Would you guess before 2000? Was the H pregnant when they split up? When they met again, was the H still a waitress?

The only waitress / old relationship that springs to mind for me would be The Ex Factor but I don't think it matches what you're looking for.

Thanks Se, sadly it's not this one :( my guess would be that the story is set in USA since the h's brother was a soldier, he went on a mission overseas and supposedly died there. since i read translated version i wouldn't know if it's recent or not but i definitely didn't read it before 2000. also h is a waitress at the time they meet again and there's no pregnancy included as far as i recall. H has a reputation of a badboy and she's the one who is always calming him down after a drunk night...
ahhh i want to remember names so badly... would be a lot easier to find it

Hi, Se it's not The Sheikh Prize because I remember that book doesn't belong to any series... I will go through the list you have given. Thanks

message 2259: by Alexandra (new)

Alexandra | 10 comments Hi, I'm looking for a book where the H and h met each other while they're both on vacation. (and I believe) He gives her a fake name and after a few days together his father dies so he leaves. She gets pregnant and like two or three years later H is her new boss.

message 2260: by Fanniny (new)

Fanniny Moreno Zavaleta | 99 comments I know the one you're looking for Alexandra, but I don't remember the title. I believe it was a short free online read in harlequin's web page but I've been looking for it now that you mentioned it and it looks like it disappeared along with other older reads.
If it's the one I think then they were vacationing in Cancún (or some other Mexican beach, maybe Cozumel) and she lost her bikini top, hero found it. They start dating (?) then one night the h hurts her foot and they go to the H's hotel room for the first aid kit and one thing let to the other and they spend the night together, next day hero leaves because his father died and had too many responsibilities so he never calls heroine.
She had a kid. Hero takes over the company where heroine works. I remember more so if anyone needs more details to find the book let me know.

message 2264: by Chantal ❤️ (new)

Chantal ❤️ | 26 comments Is it called Marchese's Forgotten Bride by Michelle Reid?
It sounds like this:
How can she tell him that she's expecting his twins
When Alessandro Marchese strides into the headquarters of his latest business acquisition, one person is particularly struck by his awesome presence..the tingling of Cassie's skin lets her know her new boss is the man who left her pregnant with twins! And now it seems he's forgotten her altogether...

In this story he sleeps with her while engaged to someone else and has an accident which makes him forget. He has flashbacks throughout the book.
Hope this is it! Please let me know. :D

Se Mcgregor | 550 comments Not sure if this sounds familiar to anyone. It's very vague but sometimes I'll remember a snippet from a book and HAVE to re-read it. Harlequin Presents no older than 2008. Russian oligarch hero and english girl. I think she may have been pregnant. The heroine ran away from the hero near the end of the book, she caught a train (from Moscow, I think) as far as she could with whatever cash she had. He follows the train and they have their HEA on the platform. I remember it was snowing.

Regarding Alexandra's request, I've read a few with similar theme. Marchese Forgotten Bride is a great read - His father didn't die at that time though. Name change, two week affair, only sleeping together once appear to match though. Very partial to Michelle Reid books, wish she would release something new. The book Fannily mentions different again, sounds like a Blaze novella I read a few years ago. It's funny how we all remember tiny snippets of books. Hope one of them is right.

Mari (flamar) | 17 comments Hi everyone, I never post but always read all the messages! Now I'm hoping you can help me with 2 books I've been wanting to re-read for ages... Both are pretty old, at least 15-20 years... The first one is set in Australia, h is probably a housekeeper in a country house, she got pregnant years ago with a member of the family that owns the place... who happens to be the H. I believe his name was Lucas. After they spent the night together or had a fling he had an accident (aviation) and loses memory. I believe he spent a few years in England before returning to Australia where he sees h (maybe Julia or Emily?) again. There's a lot of angst, he thinks bad of her for having a daughter with an unknown father... I remember she had painting as a hobby, and once he discovers the paintings she made of the Ayers Rock (a very special place for them) and there he starts to recover the memory
The second book is set in a small city in US, h is a librarian and daughter to the most powerful man in town. She's is sweet and inocent and didn't really enjoy life because of fear of her father. I believe her father dies and she needs to get married (maybe to inherit?) so got married to someone from the wrong side of the tracks, the H. Something I remember vividly is that h couldn't drive so H gives her driving lessons. In one of those lessons they have a huge fight, h gets mad and that's when the make love for the first time I really hope you can help me because I've tried everything to find the books and couldn't yet. Thanks!!!

Book one doesn't ring any bells for me, however I would suggest looking through a list of Margaret Way books. She has written lots of outback themed books.

Chantal - two for Mou and one for me, book one from Mari

Mou - Arranged Marriage is set in USA. Part of a series called cowboy grooms. The author is highly unlikely to have written anything based in Australia. Regarding your Sheikh book, could it be The Sheikh Takes a Bride

Sumita - there were a couple of suggestions for Laurence but no reply. See previous page of thread.

Mari - What about Claiming His Child

It's not The Sheikh takes a bride. The sheikh's book I am searching doesn't belong to any series. It is a standalone book.

Skye | 13 comments Hello all, new here. Can you please help me identify this old Harlequin? The heroine is married to a serial cheater. She moves into this town and I think the hero spots her across the road and asks her out but she refuses. Later he finds her dancing with her husband in a restaurant and presumes she is one among the list of conquests for the husband till she identifies herself as the wife. At the end of the book, the husband dies freeing her to be with the hero? Thanks!

message 2296: by Skye (new)

Skye | 13 comments Vintage wrote: "Did the hero and the husband work together?"

I'm not certain. The hero was certainly aware of the heroine's husband's affairs so he seemed disappointed when he felt that the heroine also fell for him till he realized she was the wife. Perhaps the heroine's husband had moved into the town before her for his work.

I also remember the hero owning a great big horse he used to ride around on in his estate. The hero and heroine's first meeting was when he was riding on the horse (not sure). I think the heroine's husband had promised her he'd quit cheating and they would work on the marriage so she was giving him another chance?

message 2297: by Raksha (new)

Raksha | 3 comments I'm looking for a harlequin I read couple of years back.. I don't remember the names but
* hero is a Count I think.
* wife leaves when she is pregnant but hero brings her back before the baby is born
* some other woman who keeps calling the hero for some or other urgency . He always runs to her every call
* I remember a scene where every the hero and heroine fight because he is going to help the other woman and the wife starts having stomach pains . Hero still walks off saying she is faking the pain to stop him. Heroine calls out to the mean aunt for help but she also ignores her. It is days before the hero is informed of what happened and he rushes back.
* heroine is pretty much listless after the near miscarriage and does not react to anything the hero says so that no harm comes to the baby
I think it had a blue cover but it was a while back so not very sure. If anyone remembers plots similar to this please do comment.
Thanks

Mou - I guess people either know the book or they don't. Laurence hasn't checked back with any comments. I did make one suggestion - though I don't believe it was the correct book, similar story. The Promise by Danielle Steele is also a similar storyline except it's the heroine who has to have the surgery.
