Siy | 26 comments I've been unsuccessful with finding an old HP book that hopefully you wonderful people can help with.

The story begins I think with H with Ow flipping through a house and country magazine and notices the h. He was older I think it was a May December book as she was 17 or 18 not really sure - but he visits the house with ow and notices her coming down the stairs with a baby on her hip (her half brother) H pursues her and she gives in but overhears him talking to someone thinking he wants the big house and just using her and cheating with ow so she runs to her friend which is a boy her age and kisses him in front of H to break up with him. Which he does but fast forward five or six years he hasn't forgotten and forces her to either a) be his mistress or b) his wife.
Does this book ring any bell with anyone ? I remember when she run to her friend he was shirtless and was working in the yard or something??

Thx

Siy, could it be:

Wife: Bought and Paid for

Wife: Bought and Paid for
by Jacqueline Baird

Penny is stuck: her ex-boyfriend Solo Maffeiano owns half her family home, yet she needs to pay off a barrage of debts left by her late father. She has no choice but to agree to Solo's offer: he will pay the debts and restore the dilapidated mansion where they will live - if Penny becomes his wife! She will be his wife, bought and paid for.

I hope this is what you are looking for. :-)

Adanna | 7 comments Hey guys I been searching for a book for a while now with no success...the h is a tall somewhat muscular chic, she was an athlete but had to leave that behind when she was accused of taking steroids or sumn i cant remember. Anyway she is terribly insecure about her height and body and goes out of her way not to be noticed. She is also living in the shadow of her beautiful sis. Enter the H who is himself really tall and takes a liking to the h, he pursues her but her insecurity gets the best of her. I think on the cover of the book they were pictured as a bride and groom but im not too sure......PLEASE HELP i've run out of sleuthing ideas, tnx!

I had a friend who had to ask her husband ex if his children could be tested for bone marrow to save him. They had a bad break and he rarely saw the kids. The ex denied her and he died without finding a donor.

message 1374: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin | 10 comments I still am looking for either of these books. Any help would be appreciated, thanks! It's beginning to make me a crazy that I can't find them!

All I can remember of the first is that the hero and heroine get stuck in this mansion that I believe the heroine is restoring or something for the hero. They get trapped there due to a storm that takes out the bridge that leads to the house.

The other is where the hero and heroine have known each other since teenage years. The heroine's grandfather had tricked her into believing that the hero had stolen something of value from her, as well as slept with women to help support his family. They grow apart and end up disliking each other until they're reunited and they learn the truth behind what happened when they were young.

message 1375: by Nattles (new)

Nattles | 7 comments I'm looking for a harlequin I read awhile ago but only have some vague details.

The H and h are or were married. There is a want-to-be OW who causes issues for the h and the H never believes the h. I think the OW is a family friend or works with the H or both.

I remember towards the end of the book the H starts believing the h about the OW and sets up the OW to reveal her true self to him with the h overhearing. I think the scene happened while a party was happening for his mothers birthday.

I think the book is set in Italy.

Sorry for the vague details. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Just thought of another harlequin I want to reread.

The h is the H's mistress and she gets pregnant but before she can tell him he takes her to a restaurant and dumps her. She excuses herself to the bathroom and leaves.

Years later he bumps into her working as a waitress and finds out he has a child.

Any ideas on this one?

I.know the beginning the hero has been watching stalking the heroine. he decides to meet her by running into her car. of course then her proceeds to. ake care or take over her. I think for an inheritance or something. I know her days is awful.and the car accidents is a long list of her problems. the hero fall for her I believe as he had looked for her and watched her.or.evennprior to that. I read it a long time ago.

the 1st book definitely sounds like Duarte's Child by Lynn Graham - she was on the run - jumped in her car got stung by a bee - he took care of her.

The other woman was the guy's assistant - Bliss was her name - who sabotaged her attempts to be close to her husband - schedule appointments to coincide with her personal plans with him .....

The second one not so sure

Heroine abandons baby for cancer treatment!:

I am looking for a book where the heroine abandoned her baby because she had to leave for a secret treatment for her cancer. She was afraid to bond with the baby and told no one, of course. A year or so later, she wants to see her baby. Alpha hero is, naturally, outraged and not buying her desire to see said Greek/Italian/Sicilian ??? baby. He outs her through the usual paces and she redeems her self. Does this sound familiar?

Cathy Norfin | 56 comments I am looking for a book that I know is a harlequin. I really don't remember much about the book except that the H believes that the h is "easy" so to speak..he feels she is a whore but I don't remember much about why he feels this way. He somehow ( I think ) bribes her or makes her sleep with him and he basically uses her in all sorts of ways throughout the night. In the end I believe he realizes the truth that she is not " easy " and feels bad about the way he treated and used her. I'm sorry that it's all I can remember....that if anybody can remember with that one little bit that would be great!! Thanks!!

Vintage (vintagesedona) | 312 comments Hello again. I am looking for a book where the heroine is dating a prince (of course), and finds out she is pregnant. Although he wanted to marry her, he thought she was infertile. Prince was on the verge of breaking up with her when she says she's pregnant. I believe it is part of a series.

Thanks for any help. And why do I read these?
