Fanniny Moreno Zavaleta | 99 comments Hello! Looking for a book where the hero thinks the heroine is the cause of his half brother's death (half bro was son to H's father and his PA), but in the end it was the heroine's mom or stepmom the one having the affair with the deceased. H thinks h is all party socialité good only for seducing fools

Kris Tin | 4 comments Hi all,
Looking for the names of two books in a connected story about sisters. From memory, the first book starts in Vegas and one sister is a cleaner, plays poker and I think meets her ex husband in the game? Second book I’m more fuzzy on but I think the H was in hotels and it ended at an island wedding? Or some sort of picturesque setting and the sister arrives… sorry it’s so vague!

Rie | 18 comments hello! looking for a book thank you in advance !

h: weight conscious and initially in frumpy clothes (hiding her curves)
H: for some reason needs a wife? I think for his ill grandfather. he gets a personal trainer the h to ""lose weight""

there's a scene in the book where the h sneaks into the kitchen in the middle of the night to get a snack. the H catches her in the act and i think she tearfully proclaims that she is hungry (from all the exercise and limited portions). the H relents and also realizes that she has the body of a "centrefold" model (actual word used) and whisks her away to meet his grandpa(?)

at some point the H comes on to the h but she says something like "i have an icky feeling" and initially the H is a little appalled by her reaction, but uses the same line on an OW that tries to seduce him later on.

i feel it may be a cathy williams book (given her frumpy heroines and obsessive heroes), but am not entirely sure.

Monica Rogers | 15 comments I'm looking for a book where the h has to marry the H because she needs to help her mom to get a surgery or therapy she needs. If I remember correctly her grandfather (her father's father) forced her into the marriage. I'm not sure if I'm confusing plot lines, but I believe she is afraid of the water because she was on a boat as a child that exploded. Thank in advance!

Marina | 49 comments Hi, I know I have this book somewhere but I can’t remember the title.

It is about the h that is in an unhappy relationships with the H. She is his mistress I believe. She often goes to a park to be sad. One day they argue and she goes out and she gets abducted. The H thinks she left him as he doesn’t get the notes from the kidnappers wanting money because a family member of his hides the notes. Eventually the kidnappers free her, she is pregnant but has amnesia. They reunite and work through the past.

Thanks!

The hero is recovering from a failed marriage wherein he had nothing in common

I have a shelf for this trope since I kept coming across this scenario. They don't necessarily end up with the dad, however.

If you want something different from Carol Marinelli and you don't mind a non HP with a cheating theme you could try "The Husband Thief" aka "What Goes Around" aka "Bound To You" . It is not a true romance, pretty sad actually. So read at your own risk.

Carole Marinelli - where do I start, she was the first of the "new Australian authors" who I really embraced. Kelly Hunter, Clare Connelly and Melanie Milburne also rank highly - for me. Here are some of my faves from CM:
Playing the Dutiful Wife YES totally agree, does not get a great reviews but I love it
House of Kolovsky series
Irresistible Russian Tycoons series - CM appears to have a thing for Russian Detsky Dom orphans
Contracted: A Wife for the Bedroom - Lot going on in this one, well worth the read
Blackmailed into the Greek Tycoon's Bed - I've read this one over and over and over
Claiming his hidden heir - Quite recent, also a keeper especially for the last two chapters - melt!

I liked to read CM books until one of the Kolovsky books where the H had a "friends with benefits" relationship with his "very happily married" (CM's words not mine) assistant. Could not believe in the HEA in his book. If he thinks it is OK for a "very happily married" person to be sleeping with someone else I wouldn't trust him to not cheat on the h in the future.

It was in the Devil Wears Kolovsky. I read the M&B version so don’t know if she changed anything for the US version. It was just a few words in the middle of the book when he was thinking of the h and comparing her to his assistant “who wouldn’t make any demands on him” since she was very happily married. In his thoughts he was clear that they were still “hooking up.”

Thanks! Unfortunately, I don’t think so.

Some more details I believe I can remember:

Heroine was very young when they married. As said, I believe they went to Niagra Falls for their honeymoon by train and she painted pictures during that time. Her father is actually quite rich and owns a company. Maybe she think the hero married her because of the money. Of course, he never told her he loved her. They split. Years later, the company is in difficulties. She works for the company and is actually quite successful though. Somehow she is forced to continue with the marriage and the H takes over the control of the company. She is left to decorate the new home. But the hero is very cruel to her. She falls pregnant and it’s a pretty bad situation all around. She wants to leave him but then sees the pictures she painted in his study and they confess their love.

Kisa Pese | 1 comments Hi All,

I am looking for an old Harlequin book maybe from the 80's?

I do remember a little of what the cover looks like, its painted picture of a lady in white standing next to a tree.

The plot is the girl is half greek (i think her mother is greek), she was married to a Greek guy for a little bit when she returned home for something but ended up staying away as she was brainwashed by her father. I do recall a line from the book near the end where the greek servant says that she had good hips to birth many sons.

Any help would be appreciated (have had this book in the back of my mind for many years now).
