SOLVED. Children's book about a dragon with a star(?) on tail [s]

My family and I have been losing a lot of sleep trying to find this book I read as a child.

It was a children's picture book, and I only remember a few things about the plot:

Fantasy genre, I can't remember the exact details but it contained dragons with what I think were stars on their tails.

I remember a large dragon reading a story to some baby dragons either at the start or end of the book. I think it might have had a point where a lonely/grumpy dragon discovered the rocks where he lived were eggs containing more of these star-tailed dragons. The dragons were fairly cute and chubby, a little like Tabaluga, who keeps coming up in my searches for this book.

I had a sudden realisation and did a search for "star" and "DINOSAUR" instead of dragon, and lo and behold it was a dinosaur and not a dragon!

Those wings had me horribly confused I think xD
