Angie I read the premise of this book about him having to wait for her to be reborn again- sounds just like the Immortals series- how is it different?

Amanda Well for me personally I LOVED the Immortals series and could not put it down. Fallen was terrible. I hate that I spent the time reading it to be so disappointed in it. The Immortal series has a lot of twists in the plot that I really liked. I couldn't predict anything with it which is great. When I was reading Fallen I knew what was coming. There is depth to the aspect of the fallen angels in Clare's story that Kate's never comes close to. Also in Fallen there were times when there was a great lapse in the time that was just dropped and a sudden change that was so jarring I wasn't sure what had happened. If you haven't read Clare do and if you haven't read Kate's don't.

Keely Havn't read the Immortals series, but I guess I'll have to! I did read Fallen, and was a bit disappointed as well. Not very good planning by Kate-the story is pretty disorganized.

Buffy Oh man. You can't even compare the two. This series is so rich and full of awesomeness. I really enjoyed reading the first two books and I'm just going crazy waiting for the third one. The Immortals series just keeps getting worse and worse.

Amanda I agree that you can't compare the two series but I feel that is because the writing in Clare's novels was much better than Kate's. I had a hard time following Kate's novel because the story was disjointed and I had to keep mentally correcting the mistakes that her "editors" had failed to correct before it made it to print. The story sounded like it could have been really interesting, but at least for me it failed to be worth it for me to continue the series.

Amanda the immortals is a series by cassandre clare and really aside from both having fallen angels in them they are completely different

message 7: by Is (new) - rated it 4 stars

Is The Fallen series is about Angels whereas The Immortal Series is about Immortals which is two completely different things. The Immortal Series are my favorite books but Fallen is good as well the first one really had me in suspense and I wanted to know more but the second one Torment had me dissapointed but maybe the third one, Passion will be better give it a try don't rely on people opinion sometimes they aren't the best

Rachel (aka. Kaiserin Sisi) Amanda wrote: "the immortals is a series by cassandre clare and really aside from both having fallen angels in them they are completely different"

Actually, Cassandra Clare's series is "The Mortal Instruments". "The Immortals" series is by Alyson Noel, and starts off with the book Evermore. ;)

Allison i loved fallen i mean i guess i am just a sucker for love stories and i wiil agree the ending was torture the way her friend dies... know i am just waiting to read torment

Nurlely Fallen is different from Immortals. Immortals #1, Evermore, tells us about Immortals, people who have lived forever. There is also a little ghost, Ever little sister.

I read both. I love Fallen more. Daniel is my best angel, ever.

Allison ya he was but i mean he could try and not be a jerk all the time

message 12: by Bex (new) - rated it 5 stars

Bex uhm. how is it different you say?!?! ITS WAY BETTER.man, it's waay more interesting, and doesnt get worse throughout the series as immortals does, it gets better

Nurlely Allison wrote: "ya he was but i mean he could try and not be a jerk all the time"

Did you mean Daniel? In Fallen, he had every reason to act as the coldest person ever, but in Torment, he was a different person. Have you read both?

Michelle The immortal series seems to have a never ending conflict that never changes. When i read the books i feel like I am not getting anywhere and there are alot of pointless fillers. Fallen really tells a new story and each book has a new setting and conflict. The love story between Luce and Daniel is SOO GOOD!! The extra characters add to the story and if you read Tourment (fallen #2) you will not be able to wait intill the third in the series!! I Heart Lauren Kate!!

Amanda I guess I seem to be the only person who was annoyed by the crappy writing in Kate's book. I didn't like how she jumped around and it was pretty much like any other love story. It jumps on the bandwagon with every other paranormal romance but the writing is just terrible. I expect a little more from the books I read than what Kate had to offer.

Nurlely Amanda wrote: "I guess I seem to be the only person who was annoyed by the crappy writing in Kate's book. I didn't..."

I think readers are allowed to have various opinions about certain kinds of books. But I think it is better not to expect anything when you start reading a novel. Surely everyone has each own standard and expectation, but that will ruin the excitement in reading. I usually free myself from any expectation. I did that before, having expectation, and ended up feeling unhappy.

What do you like then? Mortal Instruments or Immortals?

Amanda I didn't have expectations for the book Fallen I just expect a book to be well written and when it is not well that really ruins the whole novel for me. I liked the Immortals series by Clare. It was Fallen that really disappointed me with the writing.

Nurlely Cassandra Clare? Did you mean The Mortal Instruments series?

Amanda I meant the Mortal Instruments series I've not read the Immortals. I'm not even sure what that is exactly.

nope not yet

Nurlely Amanda wrote: "I meant the Mortal Instruments series I've not read the Immortals. I'm not even sure what that is exactly."

Mortal Instruments from Cassandra Clare is all about Nephilim with downworlders as additional characters, such as were, vamps, fey, and all the darklings.
Immortals is...well, surely about immortals...:)

TRUE dAT!

Bethany Fallen, anything like The Immortals!? Phaaa NO! Fallen has to be 1,000,000% BETTER than The Immortals Series

1)Luce isn't niave like, oh I don't know, Ever!
2)The main guy, even though he's an angel, is way more realistic
3)The plot and overall storyline is SOOO much better!

I'm not saying The Immortals isn't good, I LOVE how Ever can talk to Riley, her ghost sister and I like how she see's auras but something was missing unfortunatly.

I'm sorry to any The Immortals fans, but I prefer Fallen and Torment WAY more!

Hope this helps :)

Nurlely I prefer Fallen to Immortals. In fact, Immortals series is not on my top list. Both Fallen and Mortal Instruments are.

I also recommend Iron King series from Julie Kagawa...:)

Amanda I'm not sure why I was typing Immortals every time I was talking about the Mortal Instruments. I loved the Mortal Instruments series. I haven't read the Immortals, like I said I wasn't sure what it was. I looked and saw I have it on my to read list but didn't realize that it had a series name or something that it was known by. My bad = )

Nurlely Hahaha...I also think it's funny. There is nothing immortal in Mortal Instruments, well surely the angels are excluded...:)

Mortal Instruments has 3 series. The origin Mortal Instruments, the prequel, Clockwork Angel, and sequel...:)

Allison yep i totally agree! i mean i loved fallen but i LOVED the immortals series it may not be realistic but there is alot more going on more action so much twists and turn to the book that make the reader to want to keep reading! thats why in my opinio it is the best series ever!!!!! :)

how so?

Cambria I have read the Immortal Series and Fallen and Torment. I have to say neither series was my favorite. The immortals left me less disappointed I guess but I am not really waiting to read the next book. Sometimes I felt like certain things in the books are drawn out.
Fallen was really good but Torment was a disappointment and I am not sure I will read anymore.
I have read the First book in Cassandra Clares angel series and I haven't read the others.

Tali28 I havent read the Immortal Series but I have read Fallen. And I have no idea how I finished the book. It dragged so much and it got borring.

Nurlely Cambria wrote: "I have read the First book in Cassandra Clares angel series and I haven't read the others."

Cassandra Clare's books are about Nephilim, not angels. It is my suggestion that you read her book to actually understand its content...:)

I Actually did read the first book in the series. I apologize for the mistake in calling it an angel series. It has been at least a year and a half ago that I read it so it isn't clear in my mind. I didn't read the others in the series though b/c the first one wasn't my favorite. sorry for the mistake. :)

Ahhh...okay. It is actually too bad that you do not like City of Bones, book 1 one the series (Fyi: Clockwork Angel is not book 1 of Mortal Instruments series) It got 5 stars from Yareads. Well...everybody has their own favorites...:)

Tali28 I think Angie was talking about the Alyson Noel collection wich is Immortals. It's identical to Fallen.lol Not the TMI collection.

The subject is about Fallen and Immortals. It is somehow developing along with various questions raised by some readers. I don't think it needs a bright brain for that mystery...:)

Yes, this is true. but i am thinking about giving the City of Bones series another try. Everyone on here writes such great things about it!

Nurlely Cambria wrote: "Yes, this is true. but i am thinking about giving the City of Bones series another try. Everyone on here writes such great things about it! "

Give it another try and share the excitement with all of us....:)

Cambria Absolutely I will. LOL.

Nurlely Jace is extremely hot. I love his sarcasm. I think only Ash could beat his gorgeous face & body...:)

Stormy Fallen and the Immortals is practically the same except...in the Immortals Damen (the immortal love interest) is very open and Daniel (also immortal love interest) from Fallen is completely mysterious and not really forthcoming with information and it gets really annoying. You kind of go through the whole book thinking "What The Hell Is Going On?" It's really scattered and confusing. Not very well thought out. But the Immortal series is being dragged out...the same problem now for like the last 5 books. (could be exaggerating a bit) Also annoying. Truth; neither series is all that great in my opinion.

I think you've misunderstood which series the Immortals Series is. It's by Alyson Noel. The first book is Evermore. That's the one that I was referring to (about the it getting worse and worse)

I really loved Lauren Kate's Fallen. I had a few problems with Torment, but I still enjoyed it.

What makes them the same? Gorgeous main characters? a third person? Then you will consider all young adults novels are similar for they all have that in common.

I like Immortals but not as much as I love Fallen. I am not to excited in reading or waiting for Evermore' sequels but I am dying for Passion...

Luce and Ever are always dying before they ever really get to love and then they are reborn over and over to be with the same people. Ever sees her past lives through that screen and Luce is going to see her's in Passion by going back. The future all depends on their past. That's how they're the same.

Noted down. But beside that, Ever could be with Damen right away, while Luce, even though Daniel confessed to love her, she could not be with him due to all the 'angel's restrictions'
Immortals is not that difficult to understand while Fallen is so dark it always has something hidden. Immortals started the problem in every beginning of each book while Fallen had the problem through the books. Immortals is more like continuing short story while the story in Fallen will not stop until Rapture (should it stop there)....

I didn't like Fallen much either. In the end I felt it was worth finishing but I didn't think I would read Torment. But I picked it up a little over a week ago and although it still has its slow moments, for me personally, its a heck of a lot better than Fallen. I Think in Fallen, she was just setting the stage. With Torment, she is getting a little deeper into it. By "Passion" I think things will fall more into place. I dont know if there are any other books after Passion though.

Nurlely There is Rapture, book 4 of the series.

Black Queen THE FOURTH IS ALREADY OUT, I LOVED ALL THE FALLEN SERIES. I DIDN'T REALLY LIKE TORMENT.

Maddie Hey, lets not hate on Lauren Kate for having fallen angels. Hush, hush has them as well. Okay, yes I did like The Mortal Instruments way (x100000) better, I found Torment better than Fallen and they are heaps different becuase Luce falls in love with an Angel and Clary falls in love with a demonhunter/her brother. But on second thought, they both have shortened names: Luce-Lucinda, Clary-Clarrissa.

Oops. The Immortals series- quite similar but I liked Lauren Kates better, namely because I gave up halfway through evermore.

Nurlely Quantisha wrote: "THE FOURTH IS ALREADY OUT, I LOVED ALL THE FALLEN SERIES. I DIDN'T REALLY LIKE TORMENT."

No, it is not. Rapture, book 4 of the series will be released in 2012.

I feel the same about Immortals. I always lost my interest in the middle of each book.
