Too bad there will be no more Girl...

I think you should definitely call in sick, Diane! Or maybe read whilst taking your lunch break...if you are lucky enough to get one at your job!

I used to do that, look up and say what it can't be 4am eek! But now I have a night owl, bookaholic dream job....I work 3rd shift as a doorperson in a big condo building. I stand up for the first hour 11pm-12am and then read, play on the computer or do puzzles (as long as I don't sleep)until 5-5:30am when I stand up again until 7am. Menial labor is can be so uplifting .
Grace, cool that you job gets you lots of reading time! May not want to be reading The Passage at 4am, though...

***I really like the good vampire stuff but when things go viral the trend followers just tempt you to waste your money. OTOH I don't know that Octavia Butler would have written a vampire book w/o the fad/phase and her Fledgling is a very good book. We lost a great author when she died.
When you consider Chelsea Quin Yarbro and L K Hamilton are writing in the same "___" well I'm happy that there's something about vampires. I love both of them but each for when I'm in completely opposite moods.

Rick! I'm glad you found Books on the Nightstand. I love your group, too.

When does the next book come out?

On his website, he lists the sequel "The Twelve" as being released sometime in 2012. It's pretty vague but at least it's somewhat of a time frame.
