Darcia Helle (darciahelle) Author Edward Patterson visits my blog today to discuss Operation e-Book Drop. He founded this organization as a way to get e-books to the military men and women overseas. Regardless of your feelings on the wars, it's a great way to support the individuals risking their lives. If you're an author and would like to learn how to donate your own work and/or you know someone in the military who likes to read, please check out the post and get the details.

I've been part of Operation eBook Drop since its earliest days, and I must tell you that those thank you notes from service members made my day. Now that there are so many more authors and books in the program, the notes and "sales" have slowed down a bit -- but it still feels nice when it happens.

Darcia Helle (darciahelle) I came into the program later. I'm sure those of you who were among the first authors sending your books out received a ton of gratitude. Receiving those notes from readers, whether a part of OEBD or not, definitely makes for a feel good moment.
