It's been over a month since I purchased a book and I see a few I'm considering buying but holding out to see if the library gets them soon.
I went to Borders yesterday to pick up a new book for my hubby and got one for me as well so I am resetting my stop watch. Ready, set, ... go!Day 1
Okay I have been a BBBAADD GGGIIIRRLL!! I bought some books last night on Amazon.ca that I just couldn't wait for apparently..LOL!!
by Stacia Kane
by E.J. Copperman
Lilian Jackson Braun
by Chris FabryAnd not one of these is the 3 books I was wait for to be released to buy..LOL!!
Day 1 again for me... this is very hard.... But my book buying activity has definitely increased after i joined goodreads with the great recommendations of books that I found here... LoL..
I picked up 2 books at Walmart and a few online that I couldn't get here:
!!So I am back to 10 hours!!smiles.
I just bought a few used titles at Amazon that are no longer being published, so back to the starting line for me.
Day 7 for me! I managed to make it out of Costco, Target and the mall this weekend with no new books. Either I'm getting good at this or I'm losing touch with reality. LOL (or quite possibly, it could be that gigantic stack of books that I have at home; but I doubt it... wink, wink)
Day 7 for me, but tomorrow i'm going to make a visit to one of the bookstores that usually have good bargain books.. so we'll see if I can behave tomorrow :)
Thanks Trish it is so hard because I am checking out that new Kobo eReader and see how much the books will cost me compared to the Sony eReader..and it is hard looking at those books and not buying any..LOL!! I have decided on buying the Kobo eReader!! :D!! Just not sure when I will buy it or should I say when Richard will buy if for me for and early christmas gift..LOL!!!
I guess today would be DAY # 1... so far resisted Amazon. Although I am making a trip to Target after work. Be Strong Kat, Be Strong. P.S. Debi you are my hero!

AAAWWWEEE Kat thanks but I don't think I am a hero..LOL!!Come on Kat you can do it...smiles. You can go into Target and not pick up a book. If I can go into Walmart once a week and just look and then I go home without a book in hand and look to see if the library has recieved it yet. I carry a piece of paper or pad with a pen with me and write the book/books I think I might like and check the library online when I get home and that helps me walk out of the stores without a book. :D!! I make myself wait a month or 2 to see if they get them in the library, except for my favorite authors, those I will buy..LOL!!!
I went to Target and didn't buy a book! But I also avoided the second floor where the books are... so it was kinda cheating. But tonight I'm going to be in the vicinity of a Barnes and Nobles.... so much temptation.

I am going to a bookstore today to pick up a book for a gift for someone..does that count girls if I am buying for someone else and not myself??????????
Lisa S wrote: "Nope Debi! If it's not for you, you are still good. But CAN you walk out with nothing for yourself?"I was a good girl yesterday. I did walk out without anything for myself as far as books go..LOL!! I did buy my a KOBO eReader thought..LOL!! And it came fully loaded with 100 classics. I did buy a few cheapy books for my eReader last night..LOL!! So for that I am back to 12 hours. ;D!!!
OK people I need some help from you guys. They are having a book sale in my area Saturday. It's called The Really Big, Really Cheap Book Sale. Here is the problem: I can buy a bag (I don't know how big) for $10 and get as many books as I want or as many as will fit in it. I really don't have the extra money or space to get more books, but this is really a deal. I need you guys to tells me NO I DON'T NEED THEM
Lisa what if you put some of your books out there that you have read and don't care to keep and make some money too!! Or is it a charity thing?? Okay now here you have that $10 in your hands what do you need most to buy with the $10 dollars books or ?????? Now another thing do you have the money for another bookcase that your more then likely going to need soon if you buy that huge bag of books?? Okay and what books are going to be there that your library doesn't already have and you can get it for free to read it?? smiles. This is how I talk myself out of buying books..LOL
