Sara <3 - I was a Teenage Popsicle is alright. I think the pop culture name dropping got under my skin so I didn't rate it very high. Still easy n' quick read.
Sandy wrote: "Cait wrote: "Or if your husband kicks serious culinary ass The Kitchen God's Wife"
Some interesting possibilities based on husbands! How about
[book:The Time Traveler's Wife|..."
Unless your husband can time travel or shapeshift I don't think those would work for this challenge. :)

I think he'd object if I used Bride of the Rat God...........
Now, with a healthy enough ego, I guess one could use How I Got to Be Perfect or Beauty: A Retelling of the Story of Beauty and the Beast.
And then, on the bad days, there's The Ancient One or Something the Cat Dragged in...........

How about My Boring-Ass Life: The Uncomfortably Candid Diary of Kevin Smith by Kevin Smith? The title serves me well even if the details do not.
Jason wrote: "How about My Boring-Ass Life: The Uncomfortably Candid Diary of Kevin Smith by Kevin Smith? The title serves me well even if the details do not."Oh wow, I bet that book's good. I love Kevin Smith.
Leigh wrote: "I'd like to go with I Am Not A Serial Killer if that works Cynthia :)"I was really looking for things that say what you are not what you are not.
Patricia wrote: "How about A Woman of Independent Means because I'm a working professional woman?"
That works.
Jason wrote: "How about My Boring-Ass Life: The Uncomfortably Candid Diary of Kevin Smith by Kevin Smith? The title serves me well even if the details do not."
Sorry while the book sounds interesting it doesn't really give a character type.
Well then maybe Just a Geek by Wil Wheaton? I am definately a geek are there are specific qualities to being a geek.
Jason wrote: "Well then maybe Just a Geek by Wil Wheaton? I am definately a geek are there are specific qualities to being a geek."That's fine.
LOL!!! This thread just gave me laughs for a whole week!! Ahh..I think when I'm in a bad mood I'm going to stop by this thread.
Tanja wrote: "Sara <3 - I was a Teenage Popsicle is alright."The title of this book makes me do a double take every. single. time.

If you read the description, it's just about a girl being frozen until a cure can be found for her rare disease. I'm not sure if the double entrendre is intentional.

I think I'm going to do Pretty in Plaid: A Life, a Witch, and a Wardrobe, or, the Wonder Years Before the Condescending, Egomanical, Self-Centered Smart-Ass Phase.
I read I was a Teenage Popsicle SOLELY b/c of the title. The book itself was typical but being force-fed pop culture remarks such as He looked like and those clothes are like turned me off. Don't get me wrong. I make a ton of pop culture remarks but something about the method in this book seemed a cheap cop-out instead of describing the scene.
Tanja wrote: "Jason - Just a Geek is really fun!!"Yay for Wil Wheaton! I read his blog from time to time and he seems like such a cool guy.
I've read two of Wil Wheaton's books and cannot complain. LOVE THEM. Eventually I plan to read his others.
This would be hilarious, someone mentioned it in another thread:I Am a Genius of Unspeakable Evil and I Want to be Your Class President Anybody running for office?
Tanja wrote: "I've read two of Wil Wheaton's books and cannot complain. LOVE THEM. Eventually I plan to read his others."Haha, I just requested Just a Geek and The Happiest Days of Our Lives from the library. :o)
I think Lucid Intervals is an appropriate title for me. Life has been crazy recently and my brain has definitely not been functioning at maximum capacity. I can't remember anything, names, appointments or who I picked up the phone to call.
Would Wintergirls work since winter is my favorite season & I love anything to do with winter i.e. snow, skiing, sledding, christmas, football, reading by the fire?? And I'm a girl!
Would The Undomestic Goddess work? I am definitely much more work/career focused than spending time a home cooking & cleaning.
Christine wrote: "Would The Undomestic Goddess work? I am definitely much more work/career focused than spending time a home cooking & cleaning."Yes definitely this is the kind of title I'm really looking for.
Birish wrote: "Would Wintergirls work since winter is my favorite season & I love anything to do with winter i.e. snow, skiing, sledding, christmas, football, reading by the fire?? And I'm a girl!"
I'll take it.
Lisa wrote: "I think Lucid Intervals is an appropriate title for me. Life has been crazy recently and my brain has definitely not been functioning at maximum capacity. I can't remember anything..."
Not what I'm looking for on this task.
Sandy wrote: "Will The Conscience of a Liberal work for this?"
If you are a liberal yes.
ohh, i've had Just One Of The Guys by Kristan Higgins on the pile forever and that so describes me...I was the only female with my group in kuwait; one of only a few at my new job (although we got a couple more coming)...makes me wish i'd gotten that dragon tattoo I was checking out a year or so ago ;)
Deedee wrote: "I have a phobia about dogs .... would To Say Nothing of the Dog apply?"Not what I'm looking for on this task
Sarah wrote: "Can I read Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict?"
If you are addicted to Austen yes.
Okay, so taking the idea from Cait (Just a Geek, which I REALLY wish my library had), I got onto my library's website and started searching for books with words like GEEK, NERD, DORK, etc. Here's what I've come up with:Word Nerd (juvenile fiction)
Nerd Gone Wild (contemporary romance)
Dork in Disguise (juvenile fiction)
Geek Charming (YA romance)
Evil Genius (YA fiction)
I Am a Genius of Unspeakable Evil and I Want to be Your Class President (YA fiction)
Ordinary Genius (short stories)
Smart Women (adult fiction)

Especially if you're drunk and smart :)
Hello! This is my first challenge, and I'm super excited about it. If I'm getting married in September, could I read "The Bride"???
My first book didn't quite work out (mainly b/c I can't find where I put it)...since my husband & I recently moved away from my family, can I use "Displaced Persons"?OR...since I love and cherish my lazy times on the couch on the weekends watching mindless TV and unwinding, can I use
Everything I Know I Learned from TV: Philosophy for the Unrepentant Couch Potato
or My Fair Lazy: One Reality Television Addict's Attempt to Discover If Not Being A Dumb Ass Is the New Black; Or, A Culture-Up Manifesto

yes
Leslie Noel (Lavendarlol) wrote: "Could I read The Lonely Hearts Club? Since I'm a lonely heart?"
?? yes ??
28 July - Reading through Cynthia's responses again, I'm not sure she'd accept The Lonely Hearts Club as a character type. (She did not accept Circle of Friends in a Completed Tasks post.)
