I pulled this off my TBR shelf to consider for the "name of a state" task, then happened to look at the cover!

Petra wrote: "Would
work?"It looks like it could be a beach in the background and since the title is The Island I'll allow it.

I strongly suggest Summer Sisters... One of my all time favorites!
A bunch of covers here are beach related!http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/25...
I wonder would
be beachy or is it more islandy?
Donna Jo wrote: "Even the price is awesome."ROFL! I hadn't considered that! (it is a great price.. hey frugal booking ftw!)
Cait wrote: ".. everything about that book - cover, title, etc. - is so indescribably awesome. :o) "
Aww thanks! I'm trying really hard to find something from Maugham to put into this challenge! =) I have a great little collection of Perry Masons from the same period - they are really neat to look at. =)
I also like that the guy's knees look sunburnt. Somehow, his legs look mis-shapen--like the thighs are too long or something. Reminds me of the weird anatomy on the old Barbara Cartland covers in the 60's and 70's where the girl's knees and hips always seemed like they were on backwards.

I put it there first but then decided to do My Sister's Keeper instead!

Would this work? The sand reminds me of a beach..."
That's more desert than beach so no.
There is land next to an ocean here, does that count?(Sorry the pic is so large, but its hard to see the beach if its smaller)

The economy is down and many people can't afford to take a summer vacation away from home. So logically if you can't go away you have to bring the destination to you and since the beach is probably the most popular destination for summer travelers that's what we'll do for this task by...Reading a book that has a beach scene on the cover.

If you need suggestions OR have suggestions for books to read for this task post them here.
