How can Lord of the Rings be any longer? Sheesh!

Ooh! I know, trust me. I will be watching the second installment and that one this weekend. I'm thinking this is 14 hours of my life I can't back. LOL!

LOVE IT! I gotta use that one!
There is a lot to watch in these movies. A lot of subtle nuances. Every time I watch, I see something different. I think they are master films. If I was Peter Jackson, I'd worry if this was the peak of my film-making career. I don't think it will be, but it's a very hard act to follow.
I'm a type of person, who doesn't like to watch a long movie. I'll give a movie up to 2 hours, if it's longer than that, then I don't want to see it. It's not to say that I wouldn't watch a movie over 2 hours, but it will have to be a fast pace movie and one that doesn't seem long.
I remember going to Circuit City to check out their computers and they would be playing previews of either Bad Boys, the still shot scene, where Martin and Will's character stand up, after Mike saves his partner from getting hit by that cab. I like that part. Cool scene.
And they would play the part of Lord of The Rings, where Arwen told that evil things in regards to Frodo. "If you want him, come and get him."
Because of the Fellowship of The Ring preview, I've bought the movie for cheap and had it for a while, before I have even seen it. What made me take it out of the package was when I've gone to rent a movie and the lady behind the counter had a Lord of The Ring:The Fellowship of The Ring pin on and we started talking about the movie. She told me it was a good movie.
So, I've gone home and watched it and found out it was a few minutes shy of being 3 hours, but it didn't bother me.
I've gone to the movies to see The Two Towers.
I've seen Return Of The King on DVD, but haven't seen all of it. I have it on DVD. I will have to watch all of it.
That triology is a good one.

I agree with you about long movies. It's really hard for me to sit and watch a long, long movie. I can do it, but I've gotten where I like to watch movies on DVD, so I can do it in spurts.
My favorite of the trilogy is ROTK, but TTT is my second fave. I loved the battle scenes (bad of me, huh?).

Each movie has a unique feel to it, and things I appreciate. I loved the scenes in the mountain. Very grand. I like when Gandolf says, "You shall not pass!" I usually have to say that line out loud.
I like when Gandolf says "You shall not pass!" too.
Gandolf: "Go you fools."
When he falls.
Frodo: "Gannndooolllffff"
In Two Towers, I like how Legolas gets on that horse and when the trees stuck their head in the water to stop the fire.

Those are great scenes. The tree part makes me laugh every time. It was so human of them to do that.
I like the scene when Eowyn vaniquishes the physical manifestation of Sauron on the battlefield, and the part with Legolas on the elephant in ROTK. Epic, and I do mean, epic, battle scenes!

I'll have to watch Return of The King all the way. I've seen the ending as well.
Oh, and I like the part where Frodo is in the pub in The Fellowship of The Ring and he falls to the ground and when he reaches catches the ring, he disappears. That was cool.
Elijah is cute. I'll never forget his lays chip commerical. He was probably like 12 years old. That voice of his. "I bet you can't eat just one."
In TFOTR, he screamed a lot. He's a good actor, with those facial expression.

He had good scenes

Legolas is hot!

That was a cool scene and most talked about scene among Legolas fans.

Now I like LOTR, but how in the world did you sit through the movie 11 times?! You must some really strong butt cheeks.

maybe it was the "butt-cheeks of youth." ^_^ a mere ten years later and you won't catch me sitting still to watch a 2-3 hour movie...not without numb legs and duck-walking out of the theater.

We are LOTR dweebs and proud of it. We still imitate Gollum quite a bit.
Can't wait until Peter Jackson does The Hobbit. That's gonna be very good.
Speaking of nerds, you can actually go and visit the LOTR set in New Zealand.
I love all the stories, Ladies. I saw TTT twice at the movies. I admit I fell asleep on it the second time. I was tired. :)
My mother is the ultimate fan of these movies. When she stayed with my grandmother when she had ovarian surgery, my aunt was driving her crazy. Whenever my aunt would come into her room, she would turn on TTT, and my aunt would run off. She didn't 'get' the LOTR movies.

I watched the director's cut with commentary and every thing. I was impressed with the detail and near divine reverence they took with creating the movie.
They had panels on LOTR three times when I went to Comic-Con. They really did put their heart and soul into those movies, and it shows.

As far as underrated cutie, I love me some Karl Urban.
I thought it was brilliant how they brought to life the love story between Aragorn and Arwen. It wasn't featured in the book, only a short summary given in the appendix.
Karl Urban is delicious! I watch Doom just to drool over him. And the Rock, although he's a big jerk in that movie.

Here's a condensed version for ya, Stephanie. ;-)

You're talking about the elf with the black hair, the man that played on the Matrix as well.

I don't know if he played on the matrix. Yeah he had black hair. He was the father of that elf girl who was in love with Aragon or whatever his name is.
Oh lordy that elf was hot! I would knock boots with him anytime
Justine,
The actor that played the head elf played on both The Lord of The Rings and The Matrix.
On the Matrix, he was the man that would multiple himself.

Yes, I listened to an interview during the time the trilogies were coming out. He was contracted to secrecy about the finales. On the Matrix he was called Mr. Smith.
I'm back in the states visiting my mom. I went to one of my cousins home the other night and we watched Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, on DVD.
Now not only did they have Commemtary and behind the scene stuff, they had an extra 40 mintues to the movie!
I'm like DAYUM!
I mean, I love the movie, one of the best fantasy
movies out there, but really. It's long enough as it is.
Oh, and they had the nerve to show the scenes that hit the cutting rom floor.
I'll say it again: "DAYUM!"
Just me venting, don't mind me. ROFL!
