Dustin Overschmidt | 11 comments Allegiance was the first book I ever read, after that I wanted every book i could get on the EU timeline.

Andy (ddaypunk) | 3 comments I think I am going to have to say the Young Jedi Knights series was my first. Then I went into NJO I think...got a few in and decided to check out some others like I, Jedi, Rouge Planet, and the original trilogy in print.

Deeptanshu | 42 comments Hmm I am not 100% sure but i think it was Tales from Jabbas Palace followed by Wraith squadron and the Courtship of Princess Leia or possible the other way around.
I was already a fan of the movies but finding these one hidden in my schools library made me a lifelong fan of the books.

Denise Morse | 6 comments I dont know if it counts but I read the novelizations of the movies, all three. And then i went on to Courtship of Princess Leia and then moved my way on to Thrawn.

I did detour at some point and read Tales from Jabbas Palace, Han Solo Trilogy and the Lando Calrissian books. Havent gone much further back than that though.

Issy (whaleridingvulcan) | 1 comments I was 12 and stumbled across the Jedi Apprentice books. I was hooked after that!

message 106: by Lawrenz (new)

Lawrenz Lano (lawrenzlano) | 3 comments "The Empire strikes Back" was the first book I ever read (not counting those imposed by school). I was so impressed by the movie that I ran out and bought the book. A few hours later, I bought the "Making of the Empire Strikes back" and then "Star Wars". My trek into the world of science fiction had begun.

Harrison Scalf (devilmaywrite) | 2 comments Heir To The Empire by Timothy Zahn

message 108: by Andrew (new)

Andrew | 2 comments When I was little, I found the Junior Jedi Knights books, after that I was hooked. I was so amazed that an entire universe existed outside of the movies!

My first was arguably one of the best I could have picked:
Traitor

message 110: by Marc-Antoine (new)

Marc-Antoine My first was Path of Destruction at the time it was the first novel in the timeline. I read all the way up to The Han Solo Adventures and then took a break for several years. I have just recently started up again with Into the Void.

message 111: by Madeleine (new)

Madeleine I'm pretty sure that my first book was Heir to the Empire, but it could have been the novelization of A New Hope. I would recommend both as a good starting place, though!
