Nicola (nicola2218) | 5 comments Hey, my name is Nicola, I am 19 years old and I live in Mumbai, India, and have all my life.

I was 15 when i saw the movie, The Notebook and was deeply touched by it. My friend, who knew how much i loved reading, then suggested that I read the novel which inspired the movie and thats how I got introduced to the magical world of Nicholas Sparks.

My favorite Sparks book would have to be 3 weeks with my brother, because it was something that was magical and at the same time very much real and not just fiction. I love Nicholas Sparks because I think his books really give me strength, hope and lead me to believe that we all can find our "lucky one".
:)

message 206: by Kaycee (new)

Kaycee (kayceebautista) | 4 comments Hi! I'm Casey, 20 years old, living in the Philippines. How did I discover Sparks? I think it was all the hype in the movies that were based on his book. I first saw A Walk to Remember when I was in second grade, and I didn't have a clue that it was based on a book. Several years later, I got to watch The Notebook and was curious as to why it had all the hype. I bought the book and fell in love with it. I continued to read Sparks' other books and still fell in love.

I love how Sparks can take a typical love story put in the necessary conflict and somehow make it to something that almost every girl wished how their love story should be. He has been able to write several love stories of every type of person that one could possibly think of. My favorite(s) (I can't pick out one): The Choice, Safe Haven, and The Best of Me.

Jessica (bookfairy76) | 1 comments Hi everyone! I'm Jessica. I'm 35 and I'm from Florida, US. I first discovered Nicholas Sparks books when A Walk to Remember first came out. I loved that book and have continued to read his books. I've read all but 2 or 3 of them. My favorite Sparks book is probably the Notebook. I'm currently reading The Lucky One and it's very good so far.

Joann(san diego shutterbug) Sherri, I am glad to know i am not the only one who fell in luv w / spark"s books after watching the notebook. that movie makes me cry every time i watch it. so a little bout me, my name is JoAnn & i live in San Diego, Ca. i am 35. i fell in love w/ nicholas sparks books because of the way he draws you in & makes you feel what the characters are feeling. Even in the book 3 weeks with my brother he somehow found a way to draw you in & feel what the characters( himself & his brother Micah) are feelings. all of his books somehow relate to something that can happen in reality, the military guy falling for a girl on the side of the world, a love that waited a lifetime to happen, the love blossomed from finding something ) you feel it. i cant wait until his next book.

message 211: by Asha (new)

Asha Seth (missbookthief_) Hi everyone. My Name is Asha Seth. Im 24 years old and Im from Mumbai, India.

Iv been reading books since the age of 9. School library used to be more comfortable than home in those days. Started off reading mysteries and thrillers and fairy-tales. Fairy-tales were the best ever during that age. Gradually, started reading contemporary romance, history, fiction, sci-fi and horror. In the following years, got addicted to books like nothing else makes life worthwhile. Difficult to put a book down once Im caught up in it. Trains, Buses, Home, Office its always just about books. Books have become an inevitable part of my life. They truly are the best friends one can ever have.

The first book or I must say the first Sparks' novel that I read was AWTR. Having read this book for the first time in my sophomore years, I now realise that I couldnt have loved any other book like AWTR.

This was the first Nicholas Sparks novels that I read and have been hooked to it for years now. My first and all time favourite book that I love like no other.

I'v read this book more than a few million times now and everytime I read it, I keep falling in love with Jamie and Landon. Its more than just a great book and surely recommended to all who love reading romance. This book captivates the romance, and sensitivity that we all have inside. Its an amazingly beautiful love story, and also a stab in the heart with all the pain in it.

Iv gifted AWTR to most of my friends and so far everyone has loved it hell lots just like me.

What can i say! Its just become an inevitable part of my life with all the hope, faith, love and serenity that its got.

Have never missed a single Sparks novel. He is by far my most favourite author of all times. Iv read and own all of his novels and cant wait for his new novels to be out.

I first discovered Nicholas Sparks about 8 years or so ago when I read The Notebook (which is still my favorite of all his books).

I love that he's a guy that writes about love. He knows how to grab you by the heart and take you on a an emotional journey. I absolutely LOVE books that make you want to cry. Not that I want a depressing book. I just want something that will make me FEEL something.

How are you, Christine? Nice to meet another Nicholas Sparks fan.

Joann(san diego shutterbug) Sammy,
its actually really nice to see a guy that loves nicholas sparks as much as us ladies. if you love the notebook, try reading 3 weeks with my brother. It a very gripping book in my opinion. It Tells about him and his brother Micah(who helped him with the book) going on this 3 week adventure around the world and it also tells about his family and gives stories about when him and micah growing up. Its not as much of a tear jerker as the notbook but it has it moments were it is truly gripping. It made me rethink of the my own relationship i have with my sister.

Ruth Noemi Rojas (httpwwwgoodreadscomcollinss66) Hello, wonderful Sparks fans!! My name is Ruth Duarte, I am 15 years old, I was born in Los Angeles, California, I was raised and still live in Arkansas, USA.

I remember discovering Sparks when I was in the eighth grade. I think I was going through my library's bookshelfs and I saw the Notebook. The day I returned to school after my Chrismas break, I got it. I read it and thought it was ah-mazing!!

I've read a couple of his books, but my favorite is still The Notebook.

I like Sparks because he shows you that love can exist, no matter how old you are and it's hard. An example of that would be in Nights in Rodanthe. I think he is a good author.:)

message 218: by Maria (new)

Maria (oldfavoritesong) | 4 comments Hi guys! I'm Maria, I'm 15 years old, and I'm from the US.
I discovered Nicholas Sparks when I was 11 years old but I wasn't allowed to read his books yet. I was stuck with watching the movies instead.
My favorite book is A Walk To Remember. It's such a beautiful book and the storyline is flawless. I could read it over and over and never get tired of it.
I love Nicholas Sparks because his writing is inspiring, well-written, and beautiful. His books give me hope about finding my prince charming.

message 219: by Anjie (new)

Anjie (anjieeeb) Hey everyone, my name is Anjie. I am 20 years old and I live in Miami, Florida, USA

I saw A Walk to Remember and The Notebook when I was younger but never picked up a copy. The first book I read from Sparks was The Guardian for a school project and I fell in love. Fast forward to 2012, I've read/owned almost all of his novels and enjoyed all of them!

My favorite, however, would have to be The Last Song. I enjoyed the writing style and the love story was amazing. The situation with the father also hit close to home. Nicholas Sparks is one of my favorite authors! He is such an amazing writer, he adds the right amount of detail in his novels and shows the hardships of love.

most of Nicolas novels were made into movies and they were absolutely beautiful .... and my favorite of all is dear john.

Kristen (kkocsis) | 2 comments My name is Kristen, I am 18 years old from Minnesota, USA.

Everyone remembers The Notebook. I watched that movie and was in love with it. I then found out who the author was (sparks) and ever since I have been motivated to read every one of his books.

The Lucky One is my favorite book by Sparks.

message 223: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 1 comments My name is Nicole, I am 26 years old from Wisconsin, USA.

The first book I read would be a tie between the notebook and walk to rembeber. Read them both around the same time.

My favorite one so far would have to be "the choice" if I had one to choose. I hate choosing favorites though. The whole story was great and the ending was shocking.

message 224: by Shenice (new)

Shenice (rhsuperstar) | 2 comments Hi my name is Shenice from Jamaica. I am 19 years of age. My favorite Nicolas Sparks book is At First Sight. After reading this book I fell in love with his work and also inspired to keep writing novels. Nicolas Sparks is truly gifted and that is why he is my favorite author. I am almost finish with my collection of all his books.

message 225: by Imke (new)

Imke (x-imke-x) | 6 comments Hi my name is Imke, i'm 18 years old and i'm from the Netherlands.

I love watching movies so i had this new film and it was made by the makers of the notebook.
And i saw i had more films with inspired or from the author of the notebook and they were really great movies so then i watched the notebook.
i fell in love with it and after that i watched Dear John, Nights in Rodanthe and Message in a bottle.
But it wasn't enough for me so i started to read the notebook and it was better then the movie (and i don't have that very often).
most of the books i read that are made into a movie are not better than the movie.
most of the time i like the movies better than the books but with the notebook i fell completely in love with Sparks' writing.
so i bought more of his books and i am now determind to read every single book he has made.
my favourite book is the notebook but that's also the only book i read that's written by Sparks.

i've got 3 books by him on my shelf and i will probably finish them in a few days then i have to order new ones.
the books are:
a walk to remember
message in a bottle
dear john

Felipe (philip0424) | 4 comments Hello everyone, my name is Felipe, I'm 22, and I am from Texas. I first stumbled upon Mr. Sparks by the movie adaptations of the books. I really liked A Walk To Remember and The Notebook, so I decided to give his books a try. I am used to reading fiction, fantasy, and sci-fi, so taking on romance was a nice change. I really liked the fact that Nicholas Sparks includes adult topics and themes and his books are very relatable and realistic. They are scenarios that could actually happen. I've now read several of his books and my favorite so far has been "The Lucky One". I've really enjoyed all the films of his books and in my opinion they did a great job on all of them. I recently finished reading Safe Haven and I'm very excited to see how the film turns out.

Books I own:
The Lucky One
The Last Song
Dear John
Safe Haven
The Choice
The Best of Me

Kristina (kgrobo83) | 2 comments I am Kristina and almost 30 years old. I'm from United States and have loved Nicholas Sparks since I first read "The Notebook" This was back before he became popular. I get more impressed every time he comes out with a new book. He is my all time favorite author. I had the chance to go to one of his book signing when "True Believer" came out and it was one the greatest experiences of my life getting to meet him and hearing him talk about all the plans he has for movies and books. My favorite book is a hard one because there really isn't any of this books that I dislike. If I had to pick a favorite I would have to say that it's "The Notebook" The very first one I read and have loved it ever since.

message 232: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey Everyone, I'm Nouran, 18 years old and I am from Germany.

The first time I heard about Nicholas Sparks was through my best friend when she couldnt stop talking about 'Dear John' and how good the book is and she recommended it to every possible person I can think of right now. :D

My first book and probably the favourite was Dear John, Because I can relate to it personally, it always reminds me of my first love although there are some slight differences, but I couldnt find any more words than the book's to describe our love at that point and whatever we've been through. In some way memories still haunt me and I relive the events whenever I review the book over and over again.

As to why I love Sparks so much. I simply have nothing to say but that he manages to capture the true feelings and not make it too specific to the situation, so that the readers could relate to it in their own way. I love his simplicity and real-life inspiratitons.

Sparks forever ! <3

Cheers everyone!

Nancy Hello Everyone, I'm new to the group and thought I would introduce myself. My name is Nancy and as many of you became a Nicholas Sparks reader after watching the Notebook. I enjoy reading books that are then made into movies and I have found that although the movies are good the novels are always better. The Notebook is what peaked my interest but I've read various other titles by Sparks all of which I've enjoyed for different reasons. My latest Sparks novel was Safe Haven.

Hey ! My name is Olga, my 15 and a half, and I live in France.

How I discovered Nicholas Sparks is quite a story... I saw that a close friend of mine had liked 'The Notebook' movie on her facebook page, and i had already heard of this movie, so i searched if there was a book, and found it, and bought it online... that's how started my love for Nicholas Sparks !

My favorite book is the Notebook, i think i could read it over and over, and cry over and over! I really loved The Last Song, too, and i will be reading A Walk To Remember, The Lucky One and Dear John soon, so i guess i just can't choose what my favorite book is, because all of the Nicholas Sparks are great (i think)

I love Nicholas Sparks so much because he's not writing a book just so the people enjoy a fairy tale and then go back in life and think "a shame my life isn't a fairy tale". His writing touches your heart, and goes straight to your soul, where it stays forever, and Nicholas Sparks' novel because a part of you, and i think that really only a few authors know how to do this, and it's… incredible.

Jennifer Hello everyone, I'm Jennifer. I'm 24 but soon to be 25 and I live in Wisconsin, USA. I'm reading more often now and I think joining a group like this is great for me to meet new people with the same interest.

After seeing the movie A Walk to Remember was when I started reading his books. The only books I have read so far was A Walk to Remember, A Bend in the Road, The Last Song, The Lucky One, Nights in Rodanthe, & Safe Haven. I do have all of his books though.

Safe Haven is my favorite so far and can't wait till the movie comes out.

Sparks is a amazing writer. The reason I like him is that not only does he write just about two people falling in love but there are obstacles those people have to face with like in A Walk to Remember, Landon has to deal with Jamie having cancer or in Safe Haven, Katie is scared to fall in love with Alex because of an abusive husband. Those kinds of things is what draws me into his books.

message 247: by Karen (new)

Karen (kclogston2009) | 1 comments Hi, my name is Karen. I'm 34 and live in Florida.

I can't even remember how I discovered Nicholas Sparks. It was before the age of Amazon, or right at the beginning of it's popularity. I am pretty sure I found The Notebook in a Barnes and Noble and decided to purchase it on a whim after reading the dust jacket. The book had come out a few months before. I LOVED the book and read it in about two days. I have purchased and read every single one of Sparks' novels. My favorite is The Notebook.

I love Sparks because he writes about how love is hard, there are always obstacles, but it is always worth it, no matter the outcome. Life changes and grows because of love.

Nicholas Sparks is one of my favorite arthers. When I was pregnant with my youngest the first book of his I read was Message In A Bottle. I cried like a baby. 8 years later my 16 year old girl came to me with tears in her eyes and said now she understands about that day lol. It was for sure a moment I will never forget.
