Bourbon N Books (darkntwystedgurl) | 4 comments Hello Sparks Fans, My name is Angelique, I am 35 year old mother of 3 girls. I live in Sacramento, CA.

I discovered Nicholas Saprks through The Notebook. I am a pick up a book read the back if it sounds interesting read it kind of girl. So I picked up this book I'd say years ago and once I started reading his book I now have to read them all.

My favorite Sparks Book??? Hmm Hard to say actually. I would have to say his most recent book The Choice. It was everything I didn't expect. I loved it and it made me cry alot. LOL. But the ending was so perfect.

I love the way he composes his novels. They are not mindless reading as I like to call books that take no emotion or thought. He gives his all and I like the way he incorporates or writes about actual experiences in his life. I will forever be a Sparks Fan!!

Was super jealous when my husband got to work for a month and a half in Sparks' hometown!!! ;0)

clk610 | 3 comments Hello, my name is Hilda and I'm from Hong Kong.

My favourite book from Sparks is the Notebook, I have read it over and over again, I also like the First Sight. Dear John.......to me, the story structure is very similar to the Notebook, however, I'm not very into this one.

Anyways, I'm new to the site and just wanna stop by to greet everybody! :)

Ashley | 1 comments Hey! I'm Ashley, 24 from Denver.
I love Nicholas Sparks! He is such an amazing writer of love stories. I have read quite a few of his books, just finished The Guardian and A Bend In The Road. Both interesting love stories with a little mystery and suspense. The Guardian being very suspenseful! I love that the movies based on his books can never live up to the greatness of his writing but I always watch the movies just to see the attempt.
Just wanted to say hello to the group, what a great group to be a part of!

message 107: by Alex (new)

Alex Sosa (alex_james) Hi everyone!

I'm James, I'm 18, from Mexico!
I first knew about Sparks because of the "A Walk to Remember" movie, then "Dear John" came out and I decided to read his books. By far I've read A Walk to Remember, The Last Song, Dear John and True Believer. Right now I'm finishing Safe Haven and my favorite until now I think it would be The Last Song (although the movie is not as good as the book).
I think I like his books because the stories somehow feel real and relatable in some aspects. They give you some hope after reading them, so I'm looking forward to read his other books.

Again, hello!

Dani (ダニ ¦ 다니) (itsdanidee) Hi, my name is Dani, I'm 26 and I'm from Switzerland (yes Europe ;) )

Actually I didn't discover Sparks, I discovered Dear John the movie tho I have not seen it yet. I love Channing Tatum and I heard he's in that movie and I also heard it's based on a book so I figured I should read the book first. I watched Twilight before reading the book and after that I told myself to first read books before watching the movies so that's what I did. I finished it just yesterday and ordered the movie yesterday aswell so I basically only read one book so far but I'm already reading the second one now =)

Well since I've only read Dear John so far it is my fave book but I love it so much that it most probably stays my fave book. I'm currently reading The Last Song so who knows what I think after that. I'm just still so amazed at how awesome Dear John was. ♥

Well I'm not that big of a reader and when I read a book it usually takes me forever to finish it if it doesn't suck me in right after the beginning. For my lack of reading Sparks actually manages it to make me read for hours. I for example spent almost all afternoon reading today and usually I'm like reading one chapter and it takes forever for me to finish. There were books I started reading and still haven't finished. Sparks sucks you in and doesn't let you go lol xD He makes you feel with the character and you feel like you're in their bodies and follow all their emotions and actions. That's how I felt while reading Dear John. I was like a part of John Tyree and whenever he felt sad I felt sad too. I don't know but this usually only happens to me in movies and not in books. That's what I really like about his way of writing.

Laurna (laurna) | 6 comments HI,there!This is Laurna!I'm 13.

I first discovered Sparks when I was reading an article about him.

The book I first read, written by him was A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks .It was a wonderful book!
I simply love these books of his... The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks The Rescue by Nicholas Sparks
True Believer by Nicholas Sparks ..this was also a good one!

I can't specifically say why I like his writing...perhaps because of the "X" factor it has....Spark's books makes me end up crying for both its tragedy and joy!!:)

Hi, my name is Bianca. I'm 13 years old, turning 14 this September. I reside in California but I was born in the Philippines. I'm currently taking a vacation in Raleigh, North Carolina. Reading has always been my past time and Nicholas Sparks is my favorite author.

I discovered Sparks when my friends started talking about how much of a wonderful movie The Notebook was. So I decided to read one of his books, A Walk To Remember. All I can say is, that book really was touching and the story really made me shed a few tears. Then I bought Dear John, and that has been my favorite book and movie so far. It such an amazing story and it also teaches us a lot of lessons, it also made me cry real hard, especially when John's dad died. The book was really wonderful. And now, I'm reading The Last Song since I was able to borrow it from the library. Back in the Philippines, every bookstore I went to had no stock of The Last Song and I really wanted to read the book so badly. I'm just glad my aunt took me to the Wake County library a while ago.

Sparks has always been my favorite author, I think he is really talented coming up with these amazing story ideas. He is really inspiring and I think it is because of him that I want to be an author when I grow up.

Christina Jane | 5 comments Hi, my name is Christy. I'm 20 years old and from the United States.
I love to read books of different genres and I was at Costco one day a few years back, browsing the books. I saw The Guardian, and the description intrigued me so I bought the book. I loved it, and The Guardian remains one of my favorite books, along with Safe Haven.
I like Sparks because his material is something that everyone can relate to, no matter what the age. I watched the Notebook with my grandmother last year, and she had tears streaming down her cheeks by the end of the movie. His works appeal to people of all ages.

Dajana J. I'm Dianna.I'm 15 and I was born in a small country in Europe called Albania.

A friend of mine recommnded me to read A walk to remember last year and that's how I discovered him.
I've read all of his books, exept The Last Song, which I'm gonna read this week, and I have to say my favourites are A walk to remember,Dear John,The Notebook & Safe Haven.

I love Nicholas Sparks because of the way he writes, the way he writes about love and life, explaining that life is no fairytale and you can't just find your prince charming and live happily ever after, but you have to face reality and if it is true love,it will always survives.

I just finished the Lucky One and I am waiting to buy Safe Haven until it comes out in paperback in August.

My name is Amber, I'm 24 and live in the USA. I discovered Nicholas Sparks movies first. My friend watched A Walk To Remember and told me I had to watch it. I loved it. I then found out that it was a book. I didn't read it yet though. Then when The Notebook came out I loved it. I found out it was written by Nicholas Sparks the same writer of the other book. Well I went to the library and checked out The Notebook, A Walk To Remember, Message in a Bottle, and The Wedding. Since then I have read all of his books to date. My favorite is The Notebook with The Wedding being a close second. It will always be my favorite book and all my favorite characters. Nicholas Sparks is my favorite author. I love how he tells the real story of love. Not the everything goes perfect fairy tale.

I have not read anything yet by Nicholas Sparks but want to read Dear John

The Romance Bookie (theromancebookie) | 9 comments I'm the Romance Bookie, I'm 20 years old. Live in Southern California, pretty far away from all the beautiful places mentioned in Nicholas Spark's books.

My first Nicholas Sparks was "The Guardian", and I think I was a junior in high school. Ever since then I have been hooked on his books. I have read all of them, except "Safe Haven" and "Three weeks with my brother". They have all been amazingly touching stories, which is probably my favorite part of his books. Plus, what is also a little refreshing for me, is not knowing how it will end...will the two end up together, or will something happen?? They always surprise me :).

I agree with Samantha from above, that Spark's book have a love that always feels very real.

I can't really only choose one, because I have loved them all :).

Maeve (maeve_) | 3 comments Hi, everyone! My name is Vienda. I'm 24 and from The Philippines. A friend gave me a copy of Message In A Bottle. I was able to watch the movie adaptation a few years after it was released in 1999. I fell in love with the story so I became N. Sparks' fan from then on.

I've read almost all his books, but I like Message In A Bottle and A Walk To Remember, the most.

I'm a closeted hopeless romantic law student. Hehe! :D N. Sparks is one of my favorite romantic novelists.

message 140: by Julia (new)

Julia Huang | 1 comments My name is Julia, I'm 17 years old from Taipei, Taiwan.

The first time I saw Sparks' book is because my classmate is reading it, I remember there's a pile of books at her desk, including The Last Song, The Choice, A Walk to Remember, etc.. So I wanted to know if they're worth reading.... And then I just got interested in reading his books.

The Last Song is my favorite book, though I haven't read many of his books. I remembered when I finished reading, I cried a lot. As for the reason why I like Sparks, I think it's because those stories are closed to our daily life, love in a small town, some are teen boys and girls... And I initially love seaside town, so maybe it's one of the reasons, I guess. After reading some of his books, I got a feeling that North Carolina must be charming.

message 141: by Quina (new)

Quina (aprettystory) (msquina) Hey everyone, my name is Quina (pronounced Keena) and I'm 18 turning 19 on September 11th. I am from the United States.

I discovered Nicholas Sparks when Dear John the movie was coming out, and realized it was a book being made into a movie. I love reading the books before watching a movie, so I decided to read it. And I loved it. I started reading all of his novels and I'm loving each and every one. I have read all except A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks ... but they are definitely on my to-read list.

My favorite book from him, so far, is ... wow it's hard to choose but I think I'll have to go with The Choice by Nicholas Sparks and maybe The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks

I love his way of writing because he describes the whole scene. He takes you to that place that the characters are. And makes you feel as if you are apart of the book. You become so into the characters and it's hard to get away.

Bre (bredet) | 3 comments Hello all!

I am Breanna, 27 years old, from Chicago. I saw the movies The Notebook and A Walk to Remember and HAD to read this guy's books. The Notebook is my favorite. It just speaks deeply to me. I have read ALL of Nick's books and have pre-ordered his newest for October 2011. I love the emotion in his books. After reading 3 Weeks With My Brother, I understand where all the emotion in his stories comes from. I think anyone who is a fan should definitely read that book. It is way great to learn about an author you love. He has been through some terrible times in his life. I am glad you still found time to write for us!

I would have to say The Last Song is my fave, just because it hits real close to home.
I love the way he writes and the plot twists :)

Yes, you must! Its basically an autobiography about Sparks. Its so neat to see where the ideas for the books came from and even the character names he pick are from his personal life. =)

Amanda Faryar | 1 comments Hi everyone! I'm Amanda, 23 years old, and live in NJ.

I discovered Nicholas Sparks in middle school when my mom was trying to get me to enjoy reading. I peered through the fiction novels and found A Walk to Remember. That was my first one and I poured my eyes out. After that I was hooked. I've read every one of Nicholas Sparks books except for Safe Haven but I own it and its the next on my list to read.

My mom doens't know why I like to read his books since she sees me crying at the end of each one but I don't think life is worth living if you don't feel any emotion and nothing stirs you up. Nicholas Spark's books do that and I even consider him a modern Shakespeare in the way he works his romantic tragedy.. although his tragic novels are fewer and farther between now.

This may sound cliche but my favorite will always be The Notebook. It was a classic from the second it came out.

I plan on meeting him FINALLY on his upcming book tour when he's in Philly! Mosdef getting him to sign my copy of The Notebook!
