Reverted Combine Books

What is the appropriate course of action to take when another librarian reverts combined editions that you know are correct?

Apart from steaming quietly of course!

ooh I love a good tussle... lol, j/k... I would say that if you're 100% sure that it should be combined (or not combined) then re-do whatever it is they've undone... and maybe send them a message explaining?

Then again, I'm a new librarian, so maybe thats not correct?

Heh. It's the message I'm wondering about! I don't want all my work re-undone; on the other hand I don't want to come on all "I'M RIGHT AND YOU ARE WRONG!" :D.

I'm sure if you word it carefully, you can put your point across... although I am the master at wording things wrongly! ha!

Maybe speak to one of the super librarians and they can have a quiet word with the person who's undone your good work...

Well, different people take things different ways, but the one time so far that I made a mistake and another librarian messaged me about it, I was pretty grateful for it -- I would much rather learn from my mistakes than repeat them!

No, it wasn't you :). And the situation isn't as bad as I first feared--they only reverted a few. I was envisaging a lot more fixing!

Squirrel and All, I'd always be grateful to receive a message about any librarian mistakes I've made or any corrections up for discussion. Just as long as the message wasn't abusive (and I wouldn't worry about getting one of those,) I'd welcome it. Correcting it back and then sending a message sounds like a good idea to me.

I came across a similar situation - on my shelved books, I came across two copies of Redwall, added the same day. I knew I didn't two copies of this book on the same day, so I checked further - and one of the ISBNs was for Mossflower. Someone had changed the version of Mossflower to Redwall (including changing the book image) and combined it with Redwall. I changed it back to what I believe is correct, from my book and from Amazon.

In this case, the librarian's profile was set to private - how do I send a message? I'd like to find out why the change was made - this is so strange that I'm not sure what's going on.

Nenangs has posted several times in the group, so hopefully he(?) will see this and comment. My guess is that this was a mistake based on English not being his(?) first language. Heaven knows we English-speakers make similar mistakes with the foreign language editions!

My foray into the uncombined/decombined/recombined books was pretty useful, as I found one I'd combined incorrectly (oops!) and another one that looked as if it belonged with its combined friends, but didn't.

Yes, it was my doing.

I am sorry for the incovenience, but I was pretty sure that at the time I edited the book (the mossflower to redwall one), it had the same cover art as this one:

That's why I separate it from mossflower, and change the title (see that I didn't do any image uploading for the book). But I shall stand corrected.
Next time I shall check the ISBN too instead of just look at the uploaded cover art.
