I don't remember much, just that this teen girl and her boyfriend hitch a ride back to their house from the beach (?) and the man drops the boyfriend off first. Then, instead of taking her home, he takes her to a rural area and rapes her at gunpoint. She and her family become very depressed. I can't remember if the police find her rapist. I think it was written by a woman. Any ideas?

Wow, KT, that's it! I've been wracking my brain for so long, I didn't think anyone would figure this out so quickly from my meager memories, but actually the PW synopsis is almost identical. Tell me, did you remember this book, or use some search engine to find it? Thanks so much!
Sounds like a good read, but I had that many books like this with this kind of topic written these days. Everyone is so obsessed with teen vampires, wizard and witches, but all boils to romance and all.
